February 27, 200916 yr Member As a Native New Yorker residing on the island of Manhattan, I have to say it seems we just don't like Days Of Our Lives. I can completely understand why GL would have such terrible ratings--we are not used to earthquakes and so the camera work does not look normal to us. I wonder what makes AMC the most appealing. Anyone have any theories on why one soap is more popular in one region and less in another? ROFL!!!
February 27, 200916 yr Author Administrator Big week for Y&R! 4.0 in HH, 1.9 in 18-49, 5,45700 in Viewers. GL down in Viewers, same in HH. As usual, I'll do the ratings after I eat. They'll probably be up around 12am EST.

February 27, 200916 yr Member I think AMC will keep it's rating from last week, or drop again. I have a feeling sweeps for AMC will be a big ole stinky bust since Pratt is ripping off a McTavish storyline from 3 years ago, and one that flopped badly.

Although the continued dropping in viewers is not good.
February 27, 200916 yr Member I am glad they are the same in HH, I would much rather that and down in viewers than the opposite. We haven't seen dailies yet, so one low day could throw off the whole average for the week. Of course, I would love for them to be up in both, but if they have to be down in one, I'll take that. GL holding in the ratings with all that is coming up is a very good sign. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
February 27, 200916 yr Member And OLTL has been virtually unwatchable for a month, imo. I am down to watching once a week. I am figuring a 1.9 and AMC at a 2.0. I will be very surprised if OLTL hits 2.0 any time soon. Curious to see what sweeps brings for OLTL. Y&R at a 4.0- I actually enjoyed last week and had been generally watchin Y&R once a week as well. That show has bored me for months. Its been nice seeing more of Jill and having Nikki back.
February 27, 200916 yr Member GL does pretty damn good for all of its messed up timeslots througout the USA. It tied OLTL a few days in the last few weeks-or beat it??) if I was Valentini or that loser Frons, being beat by the cancellation rumor plagued GL would not sit well with me... ABC is inept.

It beat OLTL already. OLTL is a hot mess.
February 27, 200916 yr Member Its very interesting to see how each network does in the respective major markets. I always knew that ABC did well in many major markets, especially Philly, NY, Chicago and Charlotte.
February 27, 200916 yr Member Thanks for the ratings. I can live with that. Way to go Y&R! Although I'm not getting it... the only thing holding my interest right now is Chloe/Billy and Katherine. Someone's seeing something I'm not!
February 27, 200916 yr Member Congratulations to All My Children! Looks like people did tune in to the aftermath of the wedding.
February 27, 200916 yr Member Gald to see Y&R back at a 4.0. Some days AMC is okay, and I can get into it. I don't really watch any of the other shows (and I never miss Y&R), but as someone who used to watch Guiding Light for years up until Conboy and Weston (the original EW), I am happy to say, I'm glad it's holding steady and would love for it to really pick up.
February 27, 200916 yr Member Friday was surprisingly a good day for the CBS soaps, it's usually their worst day. Edited February 27, 200916 yr by Y&RWorldTurner
February 27, 200916 yr Member I'm very happy that GL stayed the same. At the moment I wouldn't say OLTL is a complete mess, it's better than the summer of last year. There's some bright spots, and not so bright spots. The less than interesting stories at the moment are what seems to be getting all the airtime these days which sucks.
