There definately not as popular on AMC. But viewers have warmed up to them a lot more now that they are no longer forcing the Taylor/Jake pairing on us.

I can't blame TB for Reese's unpopularity. Not only is the character terribly written and unsympathetic but the story she is in has angered some pretty large fanbases. I don't see how any actress could salvage that character.

For me, James Scott has really done an impressive job of getting such a large fanbase of DAYS fans considering he was a rapist of Sami, attempted killer of John, tortured Steve, and wasn't he the 'gloved hand' who did something wrong? Don't remember, but when he was revealed to be Stefano's and Susan Banks' son, he was MEAN, MEAN, MEAN! Bad writing on the writers' part to have him do such a quick 180 and be an upstanding 'good' DiMera.

Agree with Farah Fath; hated when they started giving Mimi storylines with Rex and Shawn. Much better on OLTL but I'm still turned off sometimes by her bloated pouty lips and pounds of make-up.

Jack Wagner, I'm surprised he's lasted this long as a non-Forrester and especially now that the Brooke/Nick pairing is over. He just seems pointless now and too weathered to be romancing girls in their late 20's. I loved him as Dr. Peter Burns on Melrose Place though.

I think it's unfortunate that quite a few of the people mentioned I haven't liked in anything.

I loved Lisa Peluso on LOV, but I think I loved her even more of what I saw of her on AW. She was so funny. Her short stint on OLTL was disappointing, they should have "saved" her for something more special.

I tried to follow RS to Passions as Hecuba, but I couldn't really get into it. She looked like she was having fun, but it was a little too OTT for me, kinda like some of the stuff she's been playing on OLTL lately.

I know it's still VERY early, but I am liking Crystal Hunt on OLTL. I COULD.NOT.STAND. her shrewish self on GL, her voice has thankfully dropped an octave or so and she's gotten it out of her nose. The current Lizzie is much more likeable.

    • The funeral was not onscreen - only the Brooks returning home after the service. Not aware of any available clips.
    • Very very well said!!!

I would only add that Sam Ratcliff is frequently named in regards to certain AW comedic turns.  And, we know from Carolyn Culliton (tweet 2024) that Sam & Gary put their heads together & came up with that gorilla.
    • I knew you would be so excited seeing your girl Brookey as #1!!!! She also WINS as to Frequently Married!!!
    • Yes, Stacy does this both for early DAYS & early GH. I have written some for her, for DAYS. But just one tiny point & that is that she only deals with DVDs. I realize that is not the point of your posting but it seemed the right thing to clarify. I know that you know that video tapes is past, not present.
    • Hahahha I think sleeping with almost all of your daughters's boyfriends and husbands and getting pregnant... definitely gives Brooke the right to top 1 place. Long live the whore of Beverly hills.

    • CurlyQGrl has DVDs of some episodes, that they can sell, but that doesn't matter. What is helpful: they describe the scenes on the tapes, so you can read that as recaps without ordering anything. Doesn't really give storylines, though, which is what you asked for.  Here's the links anyhow. full menu https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/menu.html GH page https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/menu.html GH 1960s https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/eps/gheps1960s.htm
    • I would argue that Another World never played "everything" for laughs. Even when there were comedic scenes in some storylines there were other storylines that were not intended as comedy.  You give 1988 as the end point, and Mary was on the canvas from August 1986 to February 1989, so she must have overlapped with the despised laughs you are referring to at least half of the time she was there. I honestly can't recall any real comedy that Mary would have been part of. I don't think she was lighthearted about choosing between two husbands, MJ's prostitution, Kathleen's death, or even her son Scott dating her daughter Cheryl.  I would have said that the amount of comedy depended on the head writer and there was more comedy under Richard Culliton and Gary Tomlin in 1984 than subsequent headwriters. I guess there was an outbreak of more comedy when Cecile kidnapped Cass from his wedding in 1986, but in general the Sin Stalker wasn't presented as funny, Mitch's return wasn't funny, John's arrival wasn't funny, Reginald wasn't funny. The tone was serious even if the plots verged on the ludicrous. And maybe that's what you mean -- but I would make a distinction between intentional comedy and storylines I can't take seriously for other reasons.
    • I'm excited for us to get back to a full weeks worth of episodes and also us beginning to move into the episodes filmed once the show premiered. We're already starting to see changes in the lighting and the way certain characters are styled. Of course we know this week we have our first recast as well. After the big Eva reveal, I hope the show continues to move into a positive direction and that we see them starting to fix some of the things we've all had issues with.
    • It seems like they may have been going in one direction for Andre and then changed their mind. He had this player/bachelor thing going at first where he was messing with Dani, seemed to be feeling Eva, and then somehow smitten by bland Ashley of all people. I feel like Ashley was supposed to be the one that finally made him want to be with someone and settle. The way he talked her up in those earlier episodes was really confusing. The wonderful, amazing nurse Ashley and conveniently she's unattainable because she has a partner, but he can't stop thinking of her and takes these busted pics of her. It was a mess. However, it all seems to have been dropped. I honestly feel like Andre can go. That may be an unpopular opinion but I don't need his breathy final syllable to be content with BTG. It's always like "There's gotta be another wh-ahyy"
