According to rumors at SOC, Andrea Evans is returning to OLTL in the spring.

I would give my two front teeth to see Andrea and Roscoe onscreen.

BUT I WANT IT WRITTEN SERIOUSLY- NOT LIKE A COMEDY, RON!!!!!

Agreed. If Tina comes back, they should bring back a good actress for Tina's daughter. Alexis Thorpe(ex-Cassie, DAYS), Heather Lindell(ex-Jan, DAYS), or Lindsay Hartley (ex-Theresa, PASSIONS) would be good in the role.

BOO!! ONE LIFE this is one stupid move. Mitch Laurance should stay dead. Since he's coming back, I hope it's to reverse the Jessica is Mitch's daughter b.s.

I think he is still dead. Somehow Fish will find a way to repair the damaged DVD that Alison had in her posession (were DVD's in existence when Mitch supposedly was killed?). Mitch will probably just appear on the DVD. My guess.

Sorry! No No No No No No! No Days or Passions actresses to OLTL.

Awesome if Dan Gauthier and Andrea Evans return. Hey maybe Mitch is the killer?! I hope ONE LIFE brings back the wonderful Ellen Bethea as Rachel.

I adore EB. And the thought of her acting with DG makes me schmoopy. It's one of the very, very few things that could convince me to watch OLTL again. But I don't think she acts anymore. I think she's "retired" from show biz.

Not happy about this, and am glad it's only short term (if it has to happen at all.) The last time Mitch came back, he HIJACKED the entire show with this shadow-y and over the top evil. It was like Freddy Krueger loose in Llanview. And the historical destruction of having Jessica turn out to not be Clint's daughter, but instead Mitch's via a plotpoint rape was just unforgivable. But of course Carlivati wouldn't have the balls to try and undo that, while they've got RB back.

It really depends on how Mitch is used. At his best, Roscoe Born could be absolutely terrifying, and Mitch's return should have worked. It was the build-up of over a year of story and the only missing ingredient from that baby switch story was the one and only "Messenger." There is nothing like that voice of his, and when Allison cued up the overture for his return when she was interviewed by Bo and Viki in her rubber room and repeated "ASK MITCH" over and over - when Mitch had been 'dead' for over a decade - it froze the blood.

Unfortunately, first Whitesell and Broderick and then Malone and Griffith absolutely mangled Mitch's triumphant resurrection. First he was a bullying husband cuckolded by David Fumero, then he was an over the top camp Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars, searching for magic diamonds, living in the sewers and killing extras by the fistful week after week yet staying on the streets. It was so ridiculous and I prayed for his death, because the show had turned into DOOL. I understood in theory using Mitch and extending his run, because the Robert Mitchum Night Of The Hunter "evil preacher" vibe was so creepy, but virtually nothing in the storyline worked or made sense. One week it would be "Mitch has killed a dozen people and tried to cut out Natalie's heart" and the next week it was "Jessica visits Mitch at the family garage and oops, Mitch just got paint thinner in his eyes - what's gonna happen?" It was hilarious, but for all the wrong reasons; it was terrible soap, and any goodwill MM&JG had was rapidly destroyed.

When Mitch was going to return last year, before the strike put the kibosh on it, RC's plan was allegedly to use Mitch on the DVD Allison Perkins unearthed, showing him speaking from before his death and revealing secrets "from beyond the grave." I have no objection to that angle if that's what they're going for, and I always suspected he might be Rex's father, something I also find interesting. It was obvious; who is the one man the promiscuous Roxy would be too horrified to admit sleeping with? What is so unspeakable about Rex's paternity that she has never told another living soul? We all knew it was Mitch. Roxy and Mitch's cult were in close proximity during the time frame; her husband was a convert, and they took on care of Natalie at Mitch's behest. The story of it is what interests me, not the shock for the sake of it.

I am eager to see what they finally do, and I do believe he is returning. If Mitch somehow turns out to be alive yet again, well, that would be no mean feat, but look what happened to Jesse Hubbard or Lee Halpern. I wouldn't want him to come back and repeat the same nonsense as before, however; that would be a recipe for disaster, and I think RC recognizes that since one of the first things he did when he took over was undo a key part of the Mitch/Victor storyline. Something would need to be drastically different. Use him sparingly, use him scarily, or use him posthumously.

BTW Marc, undoing Mitch's fathering Jessica is one thing you can bank on. It was all but flashed onscreen last February when Allison recruited Jessica to bust her out of St. Anne's with the promise of a secret about her father, then held her at gunpoint along with Jared and crowed, "Two Buchanans for the price of one!"

Beautifully put, Vee-- I agree with your entire post. I had forgotten about the scene you described, but my hair stood up on end when Allison babbled Ask Mitch Ask Mitch Ask Mitch... I rplayed and replayed that about 10 times. (that, and Viki bellowing, "Mitch Lawrence has been dead for 20 years!") It's hard to believe they wrote those initial scenes so effectivly and mangled Mitch's actual return. I think you're right too that it would be most effective to use Mitch sparingly if he's still alive. I wonder if there will be more to the story: revealing Mitch to be Rex's daddy is one thing, but will it be used to kick off another storyline?

interesting point about Kevin, rangethatrover... this would be an excellent time to bring him on because he has history with so many of the characters on or coming back to the canvas: all of the Buchanans, of course; Todd; Tea; Rachel Gannon; Marty; Blair; Dorian; and probably a few more I'm forgetting; but there are all kinds of dramatic possibilities were Kevin to return. The show could logically ease him into any number of the storylines going on right now

Kevin and nuRachel would be golden.

Why can't Roscoe get a longterm role on a soap :(

Because he's notoriously difficult.

A OLTL rep tells SID that their report on Roscoe Born (Mitch Lawrence) returning is false.

SID? Report something that's not true? About an actor returning? Stunned.
