So much of Zach's character has been attributed to Pratt but after Susan Lucci's recent proclamtion that Thorsten Kaye played Zach in these scenes a certain way - I just wonder how much is actually Pratt and how much is Kaye's chosing to play him this way.

Whatever it is Zach did not come off today very sympathetic at all. He looked to me like a cold blooded killer and just waiting for any option to shoot Josh without any remorse at all. It was as if he truly meant what he said yesterday that if he had to kill someone to get Kendall a heart he would. He made me believe it today and that he was just out to get Kendall a heart no matter whehter Erica or anyone could reach Josh or not.

It was a bad choice and of course his fan base will feel for him and think whatever he does to save Kendall is fine. But for others I think it was a bad choice to play Zach that way because I don't think it will make anyone like the character at all.

JMO, but it seems as if TK has been unhappy with the s/l's for a long time. But, before with B&E and McTravesty, he spoke out, now- he's silent... that is VERY unusual. No excuse, but I don't think his heart is really in it (the Sonny-lite/Ryass behavior is NOT helping).

As for Josh, I am one of the few who is sad over the loss of a character I felt had grown and found his place with the Kane-Slaters (Especially the Slaters).

So on to Kendall waking the hell up and causing some havoc (or so I hope!)....

ETA:

I would say both. Pratt wanted the men off the couch and more involved (because you can't have a show's focus on the WOMEN... see GH!), so Pratt wrote how HE sees Zach and TK is playing him as written (and possibly suggested by TPTB... or perhaps he is committing to this change without bothering to add layers. WHO KNOWS, at this point, WHAT is going on at AMC, let alone ABCD!). Again, JMO

My theory is Thorsten only re-signed because of who replaced Megan...... B&E...... he would be pals with them from Port Charles. And lets bew clear here, their writing definitely was slanted in Zach's favour.... I mean they completely decimated Kendall. And I truly buy that Thorsten LOVED working with Rebecca. I saw fire there, fire I haven't seen since.... in all honesty. I understand its all objective and I am not baiting an angry response from anyone, just stated my opinion. I in no way supported a Greenlee/Zach relationship beyond what it was, but I certainly saw fire and chemistry. In fact Rebecca only seemed interested in being there when she shared scenes with Thorsten....

Pratt virtually snubbed the Greenlee/Zach relationship.... in fact Pratt has snubbed most of Zach's relationships. He is bgeing written in a way that no one would really like him. I think Erica will turn on him soon enough, especially considering what goes down with Josh.

Wow, Bobbie Eakes is a shoo-in for an Emmy nomination, at least! I was also feeling sorry for Krystal today.

I think Jacob Young has been great at playing drunk lately and I wasn't bothered by him in the courtroom scenes at all.

I'm glad we got a brief Jesse/Angie scene today. I'm missing them as a couple, although I did like her teaming up with Jake to stop David. Now if only they would talk to Joe about the real reason he stepped down as COS...

It's clear that Colin hasn't studied acting since he left. I was cringing at his overwrought delivery.

Zach is coming off as a total bastard lately. I've never cared much for this character and now I just hate him.

good lord what have they done to Josh? Talk about ruining a character. I really wish he didnt have to go out like this

Kudos to Tad. I liked how he handled Krystal. She really needs to get it together bc she got a free pass here

Amanda only flashed to sleeping with David and JR before she took the pregnancy test. Im guessing they are skipping on Jake as a potential here.

Thats funny bc Zach is alot more tolerable now than he's ever been. I think part of it was bc they made Kendall so unbearable that I actually felt bad for him being stuck with her. He's also been alot easier to take with her out of the picture.

One character that has benefited from Pratt as the new writer is Opal. I think she's been used more the past few months then she has in years. She's once again an integral part of the show. She is being used as a supporting character in three stories, Krystal's downfall, the Bianca/Reese/Zach triangle and Annie's quest to get rid of Greenlee. She is showing quite a bit of range too. We see anger and frustration in Krystal's story; comedy and humor as Erica's confidante in the triangle and sorrow and distress with the Greenlee stuff. They truly have revitalized her

About the first part..... very interesting! Again, like I said all subjective. And the 2nd part ITA with you! Alot of people amy have problems with Pratt's writing, but AMC does have a more community feel to it, and he has a nice way tying together the generations and citizens of Pine Valley and Opal plays a big part of that.

nah I didnt forget, but Petey doesnt really have a storyline. But yeah she's used with him as well

Before, I didnt know how they could reintegrate Opal. I figured she'd mainly be used once in a while to listen to Erica or show up for family functions but Pratt has done a great job of utilizing her and placing her in situations that dont necesarily involve her, but make complete sense for her character. I love the range she is showing and she's not simply a buffoon to laugh at with her tacky clothes and odd sense of humor. She really feels important again and its so refreshing to see her on screen as much as we have been. Pratt has a firm grasp at this vet and Id love to see him show some others the same treatment he's given Opal. Marion for example is in desperate need of some help

    • In the current environment, while it's small, there is a crumb of good news: Apparently, San Antonio voted for a DEMOCRATIC mayor, Gina Ortiz, beating the "right-hand man" of Gov. Greg Abbott, former Texas Secretary of State Rolando Pablos. https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/5337199-gina-ortiz-jones-wins-san-antonio/
    • Love this! You are both adorable. Wow
    • I have not gone back to watch much of 1987, but from what I've seen lately, it doesn't feel like the writers or producers had any sort of plan. The show feels as if it's constantly in flux.  I will give it credit for this. It's watchable for the most part minus Lisa/Jamie which I find nearly unwatchable now.   I don't find Cheryl mousy. I think she has a lot of quiet strength, but she was saddled with the Scott romance which the writers did not invest in. She had a good friendship with Julie (also criminally underused), and her interactions with Ada were enjoyable as well. I also like Layman, but Spencer was extremely talented and when Cass returns, Schnetzer and Spencer have some wonderful scenes. Spencer also fits in with Alexander, Hogan, and Marie.  I'd forgotten just how much I missed seeing Wallingford. IT was so good to see him again. Even when they didn't have a major plot, Felicia/Cass/Wallingford/Mitch always brings a smile to my face.
    •   Dani’s cute ass party planner. He gave me some tea but I was so drunk I don’t remember it.
    • NBC must have been grateful to have LHOTP, it's only hit and still strong after several seasons. Their next established show was Rockford Files at 45th. They didn't develop any comedies and relied on movies and mini series  which didnt establish viewer loyalty and habits. Their only new hit was mid season's Project UFO which debuted Feb up against Rhoda/On Our Own on CBS and How the West Was Won on ABC. It opened with a strong 36 share beating CBS and close to ABC as HTWWW had a 36 share over 3 hours. The next week UFO saw a respectable 32 share, then a 31 so it was slipping. A 28 share followed but a few weeks later it jumped back up to a 34. So no blockbuster but compared to what else they had, there was potential, So next season NBC sent it to Thursday up against Mork and The Waltons and it bombed.  They were smart to see potential in Chips, which took off on Saturdaysnext season. ABC was on a roll with Love Boat, 3's Company, Taxi, Eight is Enough adding to their hits. Their only real flops were Redd Foxx and San Pedro Beach Bums, an Aaron Spelling misfire. Like Redd Foxx, Harvey Korman was lured to ABC but his series was a filler that did well but was considered a time slot hit. Nancy Walker and Rob Reiner were also given series on the philosophy that not only were they popular names, their absence from popular shows like Sanford, Rhoda and All in the Family might weaken those shows. CBS were relying on old favorites. Betty White was strong the first few weeks then faded. Incredible Hulk was their strongest newbie. It was lucky for CBS that NBC was doing so badly or else some of their weaker shows would have really suffered.
    • That outfit looks like something Martin would wear lol.
    • Omg not we both ran into people from the show this weekend!
    • I guess he was let out the gates, because he's outside.
    • Yup.  You can hate John all you want, but like seriously he was the cornerstone of the show for years.  So he should get a long ass funeral and burial and all the things because Drake and John deserve that.
