Sheilaforever: Was just browsing the boards today and noticed your info request. I haven't done any writer research in awhile (since I just watch Days of Our Lives), but thought I'd tackle this request for you:

Eric William Freiwald...born 9/24/27...age 82

Linda Susan Schreiber...born 3/13/51...age 58

They both live in Prescott Valley, Arizona.

From their ages and same-city location, it looks like they could be father & daughter, but I haven't found any conclusive evidence for that.

They are father and daughter. They've been with "Y&R" longer than any other writers, past or present. They write as a team.

But Freiwald - allegedly - had a writing partner for years when he was writing for Lassie et al. And up until 2006 he was never credited as a writing duo on Y&R... Got any sources?

Before 2006, Y&R credited Freiwald and Schreiber separately. Even though they wrote as a team, Freiwald would be credited for several cycles, then Schreiber would get on-air credit. It was only duing LML's stint as head writer than writing partners showed up at Y&R and got joint credit. That's when Freiwald and Schreiber started being listed together.

Nice scoop! I still find it odd that they were never credited together before 2006. If they wrote together, whouldn't they have been credited? That's gotta be breaking some WGA rule or something. Weird.

It wouldn't be the first time some soap (or prime time show) has broken a WGA rule, though I'm sure it wasn't done purposely. Or perhaps the show (or Freiwald and his daughter) had a waiver from the Guild as far as on screen credit goes. Exceptions are always being made at the Guild, this might have been one of them.

I'm sure you're right. The rotation of being credited was pretty weird.

I had a dream last night that I was a writer for All My Children and I was doing really well on the show and so Maria Arena Bell wanted to hire me away to write The Young and the Restless.

I'm pissed off All My Children ended the year with an atrocious script by Rebecca Taylor.

Shit like that usually leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
