A truly amazing and moving episode!

TK, Susan, etc.... were all great

This was the poem, from TK's site:

Highland Song

Now who will lead our Carnival

And who will make us stronger

Who will mend our broken sleep

When she is here no longer

For whose part do we stand and bow

What stories do we tell

And will we memorize the day

When great and greatness fell

Say will this valley overcome

And will these shadows fade

And will we lift our eyes to see

The beauty that she made

The disappearing last of her

That leads to worlds unknown

Has left a path to softly tread

When sadness wanders home

I’ll meet thee where the highland winds

Divide wild mountain thyme

Where I will be forever yours…and you forever mine.

It looks like the boarding house set was destroyed :( or else they would have used it. I think that outside porch set that they used is from that house in the woods Aidan and Tad bought when Aidan was looking for Greenlee last year.

I really hope we continue to see the Fargate Carnival Room used and that it's not forgotten about after today. I hope TK gets his wish and Eileen/Myrtle remains a presence on the show, but I'm not optimistic.

Beldner's script was okay (who else on the team would have remembered that Frankie lived at the boarding house, and even I didn't remember Ryan living there!). But Thorsten's poem was *the* moment. Thank you to him and the other actors who fought for this to be done right.

BEST tribute episode ever. I love that there wasnt a funeral but instead that this was used to celebrate Myrtle. Tons of clips too. I love that Skye and Rae were mentioned bc I didnt think that they would be. Great stuff and I love how everyone gathered at Myrtle's place and remembered her

Does anyone know if it's true that they asked Robin Christopher to appear and she declined? I'm more inclined to believe that they just didn't ask her, which makes sense since Myrtle just died that day and the gatherings were spontaneous. If Francesca James weren't such good friends with JHC, Kelly probably wouldn't have been written in either.

They did set up Ruth and Joe's absence earlier in the week by implying that they are out of town visiting Tara, although that doesn't explain why they had to have them out of town. I guess Ray McDonnell's new contract (if he even has one) is extremely restrictive.

I agree with this. Her tenure was definitely a little rocky (e.g. the horrible Tanner Jordan story), especially coming off Felicia Behr's run....and technically she did cast Cameron Mathison lol, but she's a classy lady who loves AMC. There's probably no money for this now but Carruthers should have hired her, at least as a consultant. And for some reason I've always found Francesca's voice so relaxing!

I believe they did ask Robin C. to return. I won't speculate why she didn't. And whatever the reason, Joe's absence is really glaring.

I love these Zach/Myrtle flashbacks. Soaps just don't write friendships well anymore. But, honestly, all the writing in the world can't create the genuine love and affection that EH and TK obviously had for one another. They were a soapy version of Hepburn and Tracy. As an aside, it was sweet to see the adorable baby(ies) that used to play Miranda. I remember how they captivated the audience.

Man, am I the only one who feels like I had a room at Myrtle's boarding house for a few years, too?

He was a lawyer and revealed to be head of a black market baby scheme. I think Frankie was stolen and Angie and Jesse tracked him down and realized her father was behind it. I think he was killed in self defense. The episode was part of the Angie/Jesse marathon SoapNet did last year when they returned.

The greatest tv series season finale in history.
    • Mick Savage was sooo unbearable. And more unbearable was the reaction from the female characters to him - they were acting like he is God's gift to women and sooo irresistible. To a point of unbelievable cringe.
    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?

    • Now this strikes me as funny. I have it up on my acct. The thing is I only have S2. Didn't want either 1 or 3.  Perhaps I should just list all of these that I have up.  Parodies: Dirty Sexy Money, Filthy Rich Incomplete: The Monroes, All That Glitters, Falcon Crest (have all just not all up), Once & Again S2 only Complete: Models Inc, Pasadena, Pacific Palisades, Paper Dolls, Flamingo Road
    • This is wonderful! Thank you for posting this! I loved the first two seasons and never got to see the final season when they cancelled the DVD release. I've been hoping this popped up on streaming but no luck. Happy I'll finally get to see how it ended!

    • In case it is of interest to anyone here, I have digital copies (computer files, mp4 etc.) of all of the episodes. And, besides having the files they are all up on my usual video hosting site, acct name: shallotpeel, channel it is in: Primetime Soaps and file names like  Flamingo Road S1E15 Hurricane Flamingo Road was a primetime soap on NBC by Lorimar Productions. 2 seasons. 1980-1982. Morgan Fairchild, Barbara Rush. Developed by Rita Lakin.
    • Arguably DAYS OF OUR LIVES has been brilliant lately & definitely was last week. But, here I am with nitpick & technicalities. This was the only misstep but it was just a stupid thing that should have been caught. Deidre Hall as Marlena has this one problematic line, "It didn't matter how many identities you had, I always knew exactly who you were, you were the man who saved my life." - Marlena, DAYS, 6-2-25 Unfortunately the flashback closest to it was when Marlena was on the phone, terrified because she thought he was Stefano. Yes, it's true that the line is not accurate. There were many times when she did not feel the way she is claiming because of whatever was going on in story with his 'retconned to hell & back' identity & origin story. Does it keep the whole week from being called excellent? Nope.
