God I am sick of Gloria. Send her away forever. So over the actress and the character.

But the rest of the show is sublime.

I get excited everytime an old Y&R score comes on!

They seem to be using the classics mostly with Kay/Marge..

As always the show is looking amazing. I cannot agree more. And Y&R always had the nicest looking presents on daytime!!! Whoever wraps their "gifts" deserves an emmy. Bows the size of watermelons!

I agree and once she saw the kiss in paris she's just been even more teetering on the edge. First her ripping Jack for daring to show up at her door with his crap and then tearing up the house and cleaning up before Nick got home. You can tell that homegirl ain't all quite there anymore and the "happy" Phyllis she's made herself become the past few years is disappearing and you seee some of the Danny-era Phyllis, just a more controlled crazy. I'm just waiting for Phyllis to accidently call Sharon "The Bug".

Honestly, I think the makeup dept and Judith Chapman deserve a big kudos for the way Gloria looks right now. JC is kind of making me feel for Gloria here. I still want her to suffer, but JC is playing the role so in character, it's making the story just more effective. Only Gloria would evoke the sympathy card when it suits her purpose. When she was doing all those terrible things she schemed and laughed her way through it. I think Gloria should go the way of the sublime Sabryn Genet, BATSH!T crazy, and locked up in a psych ward. JC would KILL that.

I've felt that way for the better part of three years now. The minute Latham tore down the Abbotts for her and her sons is the day Glo lost any long serving purpose for me. Lock her up, and throw away the key. So glad MAB and Co. have brought the Abbotts back!

Oh I just wanna love on Deeedee and Adam right now!

I am just not a Fisher family fan... I find them all tired, unappealing...they are all creepy to different degrees.

What Y&R has always done best is write complicated characters. No one is a pure heroine, pure bitch, one note--- which I do appreciate.

But these three Fishers are just icky to me. I don't root for them, care about them, like them. They are not the type of characters I would expect Y&R to give such a large part of the show to. They are boring. And I have NEVER bought Lauren and Michael as a couple either. Rings false.

Gloria isn't a bitch I love to hate. She isn't funny. She isn't particularly evil. She is annoying to me.

Nor am I a fan of Judith Chapman's acting choices. I know she is an excellent bawler (She cries brilliantly) I just loathe the character. I don't feel bad for her or root for her.

Just my opinion. And I find Tyra Banks Winters also completely annoying. BUT- this girl could be an amazing loony. They would be smart to turn her into Genoa City's new Phyllis Winters (circa 1994) or Sheila Carter with at least some redeemability.

I am missing a good old fashioned psycho woman on Y&R and my other show OLTL.

I love them! lollll I cound so SIMPLE. :)

I have to commend the music selection on this show again. Even the newer pieces are very much in the vein of the classic Y&R scores. Very much sweeping material.

And yes, Gloria is extra creepy, and it's so nice to see her suffering. I loved the look on her face when Ashley told her that they were going to sue her for everything she's worth.

It took 3 years, but Gloria is finally being called out for what she is. No one, not even Michael or Ghost John, is propping her.

Whoever does Eileen Davidson's botox deserves an award. She looks the best she has in years. Also, the wardrobe department is really dressing her nicely again. You wouldn't know this is a woman turning 50 soon.

Phyllis is slowly slipping back into the borderline psycho arena. She looks like she's about to crack and run over Nick and Sharon with a car soon. LOL! So nice to see a Phyllis that is entertaining, not some snotty housewife Latham and Griffith tried to force on us.

She's another one whose botox surgeon deserves an award! She looks fierce for a woman pushing 60. Jill has really come alive again in recent months.

I get the sense that the morale on the Y&R set is really good these days. I know most of the cast bragged to Logan how happy they are with the show right now. Most of the actors seem alert and actually fond of most of the material they're getting. This is especially true for the women on the show.

YES!!!! I know. I forgot to comment on that. I am loving my Red Head again! I didn't recognize the character the last time I saw her. Latham just totally butchered her among many of the shows leading characters. The way she glared at Sharon and just prompty told her to get lost in a roundabout way. Oh I love that fire! Michelle is looking great with the straight hair too.

I think Melody went away to a fat farm for a few weeks, she is looking much better than she has in a year. While I thought, at first, maybe it was a plastic surgeon, the change is all over, not just the reduction in the jaw jowls.

John has been orange since Halloween, when I referred to him as pumpkin head.

Just catching up on the week on the Global website, this week has been THE BEST. Y&R definitely deserves to win the Emmy for best show.

Can't wait for new Abby, she looks like she could be Ashley's daughter.

Judith was great in that last scene when she was talking about karma coming back to get her. She wanted to bring down Ashley and Jack and yet brought down herself. So true.

I also found the reactions of Michael, Kevin and Jana interesting.

Jana looks disgusted.

Kevin looks like he just wants to do anything so she doesn't crack and bring him down, and

Michael looks like he does not even want to defend her. Like he is detached from what is going on with her even though he will defend her.

Very good Baldwin-Fisher storylines this week. It seems Maria Bell salvaged the River storyline by having it used to have Gloria finally get caught and hopefully detach her family from continuously propping her.

I hope they make Lauren the same way. She has been far too sympathetic to Gloria over the years.

    • I still say this is Frank's way of saying goddbye to JJ, who brought nothing to the show and was a complete dud for his entire return. He's purposelY been given an awful exit. Is this all Jackson's fault? Most likely not, but I place most of the blame on him. Too many contract demands, too much working around his travel schedule, too many stories he refused to do. GH has WAY too many actors calling the shots and influencing story and hires. We've seen it hurt the show time and time again.
    • Yeah, like others have said, Paul took it home for me today. We'd be so lucky to have him back for good.
    • I really like the scenes between Dani and Andre today.  Regardless of where this goes or who they end up with.  For now I appreciate that they have honesty with one another.  There's deep truth and vulnerability.  More than before.

date: Tuesday, June 10 | Gregori J. Martin, Cheryl L. Davis | Phideaux Xavier Andre and Dani continue to use each other for their own personal reasons. I mean, good for them, but the people they truly want to be with are not each other. Anita wanting the temporary passes revoked? Oh, I know that made Sharon mad as Hell. MAD! Tracy said, "Shut up! I'm in charge now!" Bill playing around with child bride, via Ashley... that was kind of cute, but I also kind of wish it were true. Sharon, sweetie, your ugliness continues to shine bright like the ugliest of cubic zirconia. And Tracy, your vulnerability is beautiful; this reunion means so much to you, and it's genuine. That's what I want to see. So, with Bill's right side affected, then his stroke was on the left side of his brain; interesting. Very interesting, and while it's nice that he is making significant improvements, more can and will be done. Rehab, huh? Will it be at-home rehab or at a facility? That's what I would like to know. I appreciate Sharon [finally] letting that ugliness fade and her truth begin to come out. That's beautiful. Vernon continues to be wise with his years and his wisdom, and his continued connections with his grandchildren, especially discussing the past (summer of '69) with Uncle Cornelius, I love this. This is what I enjoy seeing. Dani is catching onto Chelsea's crush on Madison, and I think she approves. So, Shanice was a physical therapist to start? Quite interesting. Wait, so Anita is leaving town? Why do I suspect she's going to come home to some messes she'll have to clean up? Notes: I've loved the muted, neutral tones that Tamara Tunie (Anita) has been wearing throughout, but then we get moments like today where she wears this vibrant pop of colour, and I'm fully in love. Karla Mosley (Dani) continues to shine in her facial expressions when Marquita Goings' Hayley is talking nonsense. She embodies Dani from head to toe, eye roll and all. Tunie and Clifton Davis (Vernon) shine together; it's a natural, old-school kind of chemistry they share as a couple.
    • Maybe Vetsoapfan will chime in. He might know.
    • Yeah, I'm thinking that, too. It certainly would be one way to deflect from the embarrassment of being fired early in your contract.
    • I was hoping Dani/Andre would get caught in the most awkward way possible. lol.  Shanice is now a PT. Umm...okay. Glad they are keeping her in the mix.  Anita going to Chicago. Is this a way to have TT offscreen for some reason?
    • Andrea Evans was not on the show at this time.  A part of me does wonder if this type of story is just thrown in for juicy gossip and didn't really happen.
    • No, it couldn't have been her. She left early 1983 (with an actor who would become her husband, and still is, as far as I know). Other names from the era would be Shelly Burch (Delilah), Brynn Thayer (Jenny), and Andrea Evans (Tina). But I doubt any of these were powerful enough to push the eject button on another actress.
