December 10, 200817 yr Member He's always been one note...which I love. It's a helluva good note. LML's take on 'ill' Victor was just demented. I prefer Victor angry and no BS. ITA. Yet, I loved epilepsy Victor and the post-Sabrina despression. Contrary to many I value the portrayal of Eric Braeden very highly, though. Angry Victor is dynamite. I love me some "Listen to me, you (insert curse word du jour)..."
December 10, 200817 yr Administrator EB does anger better than anyone else in daytime. Agreed. I prefer Victor angry and no BS. Same here, DaytimeFan. He's the best when he's yelling/threatning/condemning someone. The Great Victor Newman!
December 10, 200817 yr Member EB does anger better than anyone else in daytime. I would love if the show came out with a DVD of just the best of Victor yelling at people. And they can have a commercial where Victor yells at people to buy the DVD.
December 10, 200817 yr Member I love it when Braeden gets angry, or when he shows love and affection for his kids... He can be so sweet in those scenes, I really do buy his love for them. Edited December 10, 200817 yr by YRBB
December 10, 200817 yr Member I've always loved Eric Braeden - I find myself riveted every time I see him on my TV. I think he has an old-fashioned, masculine star quality. Kind of like a Clark Gable or a Humphrey Bogart. I like his low-key demeanor...he does a slow burn better than a lot of actors, daytime or any other time.
December 10, 200817 yr Member I agree Faulkner. I've always been a Victor/EB fan. But I did hate the crap Latham had him doing. The nice and considerate Victor that built doghouses was just awful! LOL. He's at his best when he's out for revenge.
December 10, 200817 yr Member Victor Newman annoys me. I don't like him. I don't like the way he treats his children. I did NOT like the way he treated Nikki. And it bugs the hell out of me that people actually fear the old dinosaur. His accent and dictation makes me giggle every time Victor starts yelling at people to "Listen Up". I just think, really old man? Really? What are you gonna do but stare, point and YELL. He is very much Y&R's Sonny Corinthos. Edited December 10, 200817 yr by Queen
December 11, 200817 yr Member One note, dry, and emotionless.... Sounds like Eric Braden's acting for as long as I've been watching. Don't get me wrong, he can be good sometimes, but like Maurice Benard on GH, he's incredibly lazy, thinks too highly of himself, and thinks he can do whatever he wants because of who he is. You are so right on the money with this post.
December 11, 200817 yr Author Member Does he have to be mean and angry all the time? Let's see some range like LML brought to him and the only reason he acted nice was becasue he was sick. Edited December 11, 200817 yr by aMLCproduction
