There were some errors, so I corrected the mistakes. I can't believe the site switched the soaps and had "Fred Myers". And I thought Fran would be left off the list cause she went Fi-Core? I'm that will be corrected once the WGA realizes she went Fi-Core.

I see the WGA site now has the correct soaps with its writers, but "Fred Myers" is still there.

They are 'the worthy' which is laughable in the case of ATWT...

Y&R, B&B and DAYS will likely never see another nomination from the WGA...not that it matters. At the end of the day, awards are nice, but they don't pay the bills or get viewers watching.

They other shows probably got snubbed because they were either headed by Fi-Core writers or had a couple of Fi-Core writers on staff. There's usually like five or four nominees in this category, not anymore.

I can't remember did Kreizman go Fi Core.

If he didn't they would have had 3 they could have nominated, but now that I think about it they could have had 4 because I don't think Guza went Fi Core either did he?

I know that the other shows were all or still are headed by someone who went fi-core except for those 4.

Oh yeah I think Guza stayed loyal to the WGA...Garin Wolf took over for two months in his absence.

And did Bradley Bell secretly scab/go FiCore or what? I remember Kay Alden going FiCore and being credited during the strike, but was it later revealed that he was there with her? I don't remember, but if not then B&B has had a HW too for the majority of the year thats in the WGA...though of course, Kay IS Co-HW....

Nice to see OLTL there though, they've had alot of strong episodes this year.

Anyone who thinks Brad Bell didn't have a hand in the writing is the kinda person I'd like to speak to about this swamp land I have to sell...

I think the Bells can just kiss any recognition from the WGA so long, MAB, KA plus whatever backroom shenanigans occurred. Not that the Bells care mind you, the only award they've ever given a damn about is the Emmy and even then, they know what really count$...

I find it interesting the two soaps nominated were the two head writers who stuck by the WGA. Jean P and Ron Carlivati refused to go against the guild. While at DAYS Dena went fi-core, Hogan/Maria both went fi-core, Brad went fi-core, Kay Alden went fi-core but Ron/Jean were two of the ones that did not.

It's possible that writers give up their eligiblility for the WGA awards when they go fi core. Or that WGA members refuse to give awards to scabs. I won't be surprised if this carries over to the Emmys.

Well, the irony is that in taking this principled and appropriate (for the WGA) stand, this particular award falls into irrelevancy.

There can be no doubt that the award no longer stands for 'best soap", but instead "best soap with a writing team free of scabs".

I suspect this award might go away someday soon.

Especially because Brad held on to his EP credit through the whole thing. I guess he just "produced" the material, but didn't have a word to say about the content .

It will carry over to the Emmys as far as other writers - if they do what the WGA has asked them to do - and that is totally blacklist the Fi Core writers. If they blacklist them then they won't associate with them or vote for them.

As Mark H. said this make this award for me void and it was once one of the most prestigious awards for writers. But it means nothing now.

When the strike started I was one of the biggest supporters of the WGA in the strike - often getting into long discussions about why the strike was relevant and such. But the WGA's actions after the strike esp. in recent weeks have really turned me against them. To publish the names as they did and then ask for the Fi Core writers to be blacklisted as they have - and then to do this - it is all just sickening for me. I just cannot support the union anymore.

These writers did not scab. They did things legally and by the book. If Fi Core wasn't there and they were caught scabbing, I could understand the WGA's actions but Fi Core was there and these writers did what was legally right for them to do.

The WGA had better watch out because if they do survive until another strike - scabbing will become the new art the next time. You won't have any writers going the Fi Core route because they have lost a lot by doing what they legally had the right to do.
