Kamala just threaded the needle on both Israel and Gaza very explicitly and very well. No, it won't move the deadenders who suddenly demanded a convention slot yesterday after 1968 II flopped, but it will move the base that has sympathy for Palestinians as well as Israeli citizens.

TwitX is having a field day, because all DonOLD did, during Harris' speech, was complain that Coach Walz was not a coach but an assistant coach...

...and then asked, "Where's Hunter?"

DonOLD SO wishes Joe was still his opponent.

So, of course, TwitX has said Hunter is with Melania, among other epic responses. LOL! He is SO melting down, so those calls are the cherry on top.

Why does Oprah keep insisting that she's an independent?

I don't doubt that she registered as an independent because she's a boomer who was raised on the ethos of voting for the person and not the party.

But, clearly she's a Democrat, and if she's going to endorse VP Harris, she needs to remind people to vote for the down ticket Dems as well if we are going to overtake the congress and maintain the senate.

It is not as if she has to remain neutral to maintain a mainstream audience anymore.  So, get on board Oprah.  We need more billionaires who care less about taxes than civil rights.

Regardless of how Oprah was raised (and her being from Mississippi, I doubt she was told to vote for individual rather than party), she’s in the billionaire class and most of them have this idea that they function independently (psst, they do not). In the past, Oprah has had vehement disagreements with those who have cited luck in her success. She cites hard work and being good at what she does over chance. Honey, it’s both, I say. Many wealthy people cite har work and pluck (and sometimes even talent) as the key to their success, but are hard pressed to admit that someone had to give them that initial chance, even if by chance, we mean an opportunity or investment/seed money or even a valuable piece of advice on how to begin.

While it’s obvious to me and you and likely half of America that Oprah clearly votes Democratic at the national level, she may be sliding in references to voting for both parties on the state legislative and municipal levels just so she can take the part of an “independent” and speak to and try to convince independent voters to vote for VP Harris. Those are the voters that most Dems are constantly being told we have to convince, no?
Hopefully some other prominent person can urge voters to vote for Democrats down ballot so as to give a President Harris the Democratic majority in Congress. Maybe MacKenzie Scott, she’s a billionaire too, no? We shouldn’t leave Oprah to do all the work of convincing voters and given the press surrounding Scott’s recent philanthropic contributions, I would say she’s pretty well known too now.

At this point, MacKenzie Scott’s message would be disseminated every bit as quickly as any message from Oprah. She should also dig in and do the work.

Personally I think it's because she's behind enemy lines. She a billionaire. A Black billionaire.

People can claim it's about her money but money is important. She sent hundreds of men to Morehouse. People want to blame her for Drs. Oz and Phil but she deserves credit for helping to create Black doctors.

Hilariously, CNN, CSPAN, Newsmax and Fox all cut away from both Trump and RFK's rambling speeches mid-stream today before they finished.

Based on recent polling with him in or out of the race, it will actually hurt Trump. RFK was becoming a permission slip for stupid people to not have to vote for the Dem while avoiding Trump.

    • In the current environment, while it's small, there is a crumb of good news: Apparently, San Antonio voted for a DEMOCRATIC mayor, Gina Ortiz, beating the "right-hand man" of Gov. Greg Abbott, former Texas Secretary of State Rolando Pablos. https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/5337199-gina-ortiz-jones-wins-san-antonio/
    • Love this! You are both adorable. Wow
    • I have not gone back to watch much of 1987, but from what I've seen lately, it doesn't feel like the writers or producers had any sort of plan. The show feels as if it's constantly in flux.  I will give it credit for this. It's watchable for the most part minus Lisa/Jamie which I find nearly unwatchable now.   I don't find Cheryl mousy. I think she has a lot of quiet strength, but she was saddled with the Scott romance which the writers did not invest in. She had a good friendship with Julie (also criminally underused), and her interactions with Ada were enjoyable as well. I also like Layman, but Spencer was extremely talented and when Cass returns, Schnetzer and Spencer have some wonderful scenes. Spencer also fits in with Alexander, Hogan, and Marie.  I'd forgotten just how much I missed seeing Wallingford. IT was so good to see him again. Even when they didn't have a major plot, Felicia/Cass/Wallingford/Mitch always brings a smile to my face.
    •   Dani’s cute ass party planner. He gave me some tea but I was so drunk I don’t remember it.
    • NBC must have been grateful to have LHOTP, it's only hit and still strong after several seasons. Their next established show was Rockford Files at 45th. They didn't develop any comedies and relied on movies and mini series  which didnt establish viewer loyalty and habits. Their only new hit was mid season's Project UFO which debuted Feb up against Rhoda/On Our Own on CBS and How the West Was Won on ABC. It opened with a strong 36 share beating CBS and close to ABC as HTWWW had a 36 share over 3 hours. The next week UFO saw a respectable 32 share, then a 31 so it was slipping. A 28 share followed but a few weeks later it jumped back up to a 34. So no blockbuster but compared to what else they had, there was potential, So next season NBC sent it to Thursday up against Mork and The Waltons and it bombed.  They were smart to see potential in Chips, which took off on Saturdaysnext season. ABC was on a roll with Love Boat, 3's Company, Taxi, Eight is Enough adding to their hits. Their only real flops were Redd Foxx and San Pedro Beach Bums, an Aaron Spelling misfire. Like Redd Foxx, Harvey Korman was lured to ABC but his series was a filler that did well but was considered a time slot hit. Nancy Walker and Rob Reiner were also given series on the philosophy that not only were they popular names, their absence from popular shows like Sanford, Rhoda and All in the Family might weaken those shows. CBS were relying on old favorites. Betty White was strong the first few weeks then faded. Incredible Hulk was their strongest newbie. It was lucky for CBS that NBC was doing so badly or else some of their weaker shows would have really suffered.
    • That outfit looks like something Martin would wear lol.
    • Omg not we both ran into people from the show this weekend!
    • I guess he was let out the gates, because he's outside.
    • Yup.  You can hate John all you want, but like seriously he was the cornerstone of the show for years.  So he should get a long ass funeral and burial and all the things because Drake and John deserve that.
