I know the talking points against this are that now Democratic voters are more likely to vote in all elections so it doesn't matter - I'm not sure I believe that, but I do remember Democrats doing well in a lot of 2004 special elections and still losing in November. Hopefully the environment is better this year.

That's true but we are talking about averages. And George Bush was the incumbent then not a democrat. But I do think the narrative now is helping Biden and Roe is helping democrats. The media and press have helped turn Biden into the underdog. I am sure that is not what they intended.  I never thought I would see a democratic presidential candidate leading in the second most reliable voting block, people over 65.  And when SCOTUS allows the banning of mifepristone, just wait to see the impact of that.

Supreme Court rejects challenge to FDA's approval of mifepristone : NPR

So mifepristone is safe for NOW due to standing. It wasn't based on anything other than this, which means it's still open for appeal at some point. Also the right is proposing to use the Comstock Act to block shipments of mifepristone by mail.

Don't think this stops anything. I haven't read the opinions but I would not be shocked if Thomas or Scalia in their opinions included language guiding future suits they know might have a chance of making this ban the possibility of sticking.  Women are not going to forget this.

There is still one case yet to be announced that is an abortion case that has to do with a lot of what's been covered in the media, which can women be treated with livesaving procedures related to pregnancy related to an abortion. We'll see.

Not only is the issue of saving women's lives with abortion still hanging, so is whether a POTUS is a king, since this crew is pondering presidential immunity.

Today's ruling regardless, this so-called SCOTUS is a s-h-i-t-show of the highest order.

And right on the heels of the high school graduation ceremony of the kids who survived the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School, with empty chairs dedicated to the kids who were mowed down as first graders-and speeches from the survivors about how they will carry that day and the memory of their fallen classmates with them for the rest of their lives. Similar to what happened to the original Sandy Hook Elementary School, Marjorie Stoneman Douglas high school, the site of yet another school massacre, is set to be demolished next week.
So…yeah, SCOTUS is serving up more opportunities for these types of tragedies. Sadly.

That's one of the reasons why that hatemonger Charlie Kirk is pushing so hard for the cultists to get low-information voters/people who rarely vote to go for Trump - to offset the loyal voters who are sickened by him. And of course the media is full speed ahead, including his cynical attempts at getting black voters (mainly through finding criminals who say he is just like them, so vote for him). Or doing "fun" videos with repulsive Logan Paul that are pushed in the same breath as badly doctored Biden videos so the media can tell us Trump is the life of the party and Biden is decrepit.

Trump has had such cognitive decline that the media is ignoring as much as possible, and even when they talk about it, much of the public goes "la la la" because they still think if you are loud and obnoxious that means you are a strong man.

    • ohhh! oops i think i was thinking about the conversation i was having about jack in DOOL
    • Thanks for the fuller story.  Steve Guthrie was a loss to the show, but I can't really blame Nicholson.
    • Albee clashed with co-star Lee Godart, who portrayed villain Eliot Dorn . At the time, the Edge of Night cast participated in a charity baseball league with other New York-based soaps. Albee, an American, was very competitive about the games, whereas Godart – a French actor unfamiliar with baseball – was not as skilled. Tensions reportedly flared when Albee berated Godart’s athletic performance and even mocked his nationality during these games . Godart took offense and complained to the executive producer, who warned Albee to stop harassing his castmate . Albee either ignored this warning or didn’t take it seriously, and continued to needle Godart. As a result, when Albee’s next contract option came due, Nicholson chose not to renew it – effectively terminating Albee’s role on the show
    • I can't remember exactly, but I think the claim was it involved a team baseball game.
    • Sorry to hear that - take whatever time you need.
    • @MaximI sing this in my head so dang often!!!!
    • Not as caught up as everyone else but I just wanted to add, the show being played for laughs is gone and I’m happy about it, that’s exactly how the show was during the strike.
    • I love the early years of GH.... Does anyone know where I can find information of the stories from 1963 and 1964??  Thank you!!

    • Uh, yeah, huh?!!! Seriously, that was a brilliant line but its acumen is strictly from how hilarious. We imagine Joss in Carly's kitchen breaking the news that she's realized she's gay & Carly is unconcerned & then drops that it's Emma she's in love with ... time comes to a screeching halt!!! I think Moss would likely be thrown hard against the wall. Can you imagine Carly & Robin as mothers of the brides together?
