Members marceline
Actually they can. The electors could've changed their votes.
Members hsfolk
you're not supposed to go against the wishes of the voters in that state; actually HRC ended up losing more electoral votes than Trump did
Members marceline
You're not supposed to but that doesn't mean you can't. The EC was ostensibly created to keep an unfit person out of office. (Although really it just turned out to be affirmative action for flyover states but that's a different debate.) This is the second time a popular vote loser was handed the presidency so let's not pretend that the EC isn't a broken system.
Members hsfolk
except everyone knows that the EC is the only one that means anything and why did HRC never step foot in Wisconsin? she lost a lot of rust-belt states that have been traditionally Democratic
Members DramatistDreamer
All those people who believe that Dumpster Fire Donny can actually turn back time and Make Coal Great Again are in for some disappointing times. Corporations have already calibrated, retrofitted and adjusted their companies for the greenhouse gas lowering regulations that the EPA put in place years ago. They are not going to undo all that. More states and businesses realize that wind and solar energies are building viable industries and creating jobs and that's not going to change. It's only going to expand. In fact, I recently read about a coal plant that had put solar panels on its company headquarters. To save money, Kentucky Coal Museum turns to solar panels If that's not a sign that solar and wind have genuine benefits, I don't know what is! Just like with the ACA (AKA Obamacare), people have already adjusted to the reality and it's a fantasy to think that people, corporations and states legislatures will throw all the benefits of this away for an idea whose time has already come and gone. Stop snorting the covfefe and get real, Donny. Please register in order to view this content
Members marceline
I'm not going to re-litigate the election with you. There's no point in that. But anyone who refuses to acknowledge that there were many factors in her loss (Comey, Russians, voter suppression especially in swing states) isn't being realistic. There's a reason North Carolina's voter suppression was ruled unconstitutional and SCOTUS will be looking at Ohio's voter purge.

Members DRW50
I don't know true this is but I was reading an article that talked about how it won't really change much beyond uniting Europe even further against us, as it's going to take years to finalize (the leaving), and states like California already have very strict carbon emission standards, the rate of emissions in the US has been falling, countries like Germany are actually getting worse in this area, etc. As always it's just a flush and a flourish that makes us look awful and isolates us, likely for generations. http://www.politico.eu/article/trump-makes-europe-feel-great-again/
