Administrator Toups Posted November 6, 2024 Author Administrator Share Posted November 6, 2024 You're right. I was mistaken. Thought GOP only needed to flip 2, but they need 3.

Administrator Toups Posted November 6, 2024 Author Administrator Share Posted November 6, 2024 Going to bed. America just wasn't ready for a woman President. What a shame. I feel so bad for Americans right now and I worry about my friends and family living there.
Members DRW50
Disappointed, if not shocked, Sherrod Brown lost. I know some felt his last campaign was too much to the right but given Ohio's turn I think it was understandable. He did a lot for people for a long time. His opponent is a piece of slime who was heavily backed up by crypto bros. One positive is Marcy Kaptur, a Congresswoman from Ohio who has survived many tough races, is, for now, still holding on.

Members BetterForgotten
Racism and misogyny run deep in this country that so many people would rather vote for a convicted criminal who had a disastrous previous term as president.

Members Wendy
If we weren't all going to suffer along with them, I'd say let these Trump voters get the full effect. Round up all those Hispanic voters that backed him. They will be the first to scream when they are thrown out of the country. For the women backing him, I hope they like national forced births. Give these voters what they voted for. Edited November 6, 2024 by Wendy
Members BetterForgotten
White women and working class Hispanics came out for Trump it seems. Again, very sad and disheartening.
Members MissPhoenixGirl92
My mom wanted to go to Paris next year for vacation. Well looks like the cruise that she's going on with my father and I in a few weeks is more than likely going to be the very last vacation we're ever going to have as a family. Once the three of us lose our Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid, we won't be able to afford our house anymore and we're probably going to end up on the streets. I'm terrified at the prospect of my aunts and uncles possibly getting deported even though they've been in this country legally for years.
Members janea4old
This affects everyone. I don't own a home, I don't take vacations. I barely survive as it is. If some (including myself) lose low-income healthcare, death will result. This is not an exaggeration. Members DRW50
I appreciate your kind words. Honestly seeing how well Trump did in just about every state, in low/mid-single digits in places like New York or New Jersey (I know they have always had red pockets), I don't even know where the Democrats can go or where any sense of democracy can go. I think bigotry played a big part, it is endemic in this country and in Trump's existence, but even if Biden had chosen not to run again, even if Harris hadn't run, I'm not sure we'd be in a different place. Too many people just love Trump. The media and the public. He's currently at his most popular, if you believe polling. I could say after he's gone things will be different, but I'm not even sure what will be left.
