They should have Nick and Sharon flash back a few times to the teen years with Mr. Dimples/Sexy Eddie, Matt and then bring Rick to Y&R as Whip and pair him with Jill. I loved his character on B&B and thought he was totally wasted in favor of keeping Brooke miserable, pinning after Ridge.

I'm enjoying this Ice Storm episode for the most part. I thought they didn't like to show the old episodes where anyone has been re-casted, yet it was great to see Traci's believable daughter Colleen, who actually had some chemistry with Mr Korbel.

I'm thinking this episode is TERRIFIC. I thought that back in the day.

I see no evidence of "rushed" storytelling.

Better yet, everything on screen still resonates today:

Summer

Jack-Phyllis dynamic

Brad-Sharon dynamic

It is interesting to see Dru and real-Colleen. I never liked her with Korbel, but I do miss that version of Colleen.

I find that version of Nick--heroic--to be somewhat weaker now...but boy do I like that character!

I don't miss Lily-Daniel together. I like Daniel with Amber more...she better fits his vibe.

It was nice seeing Rebecca again...and it was nice seeing Victor and Nikki in happier times.

I think this might have been before the show really went to sh*t. The team was still

Latham

Alden

Hamner

Cwikly

Ferri Esser

Minardi Slater

Dufour

So, there were a number of really competent people still there...and it wasn't a HUGE team. How do you think Cwikly/Esser/Slater divided that role? Did Cwikly do the breakdown, and Esser/Slater edit?

ETA: Now, Nick giving Lily point-by-point instructions on how to do CPR (really, a public service annoucement)...didn't love that quite so much.

Seeing the emerging JT/Victoria chemistry was kind of nice.

ETA2: Handheld camera work in the elevator, and following Nick carrying Daniel into the ER was kind of nice. I'm impressed Morrow is strong enough to lift and carry Graz.

She's been good this year, but in those love-making scenes with Paul, I couldn't help but notice how much weight she's gained this year. Not that it matters, but I wonder if things are well in the Scott household. I was looking at YouTube clips from a year ago, just to judge, and there's a HUGE difference in Melody's appearance.

I just saw Tuesday and Wednesday (didn't see Monday though... and I'm sad that I missed those Bergman/Stafford scenes)...

I LOOOOVED Nikki finally telling off Victor! I hate Victor Newman. He's disgusting! And Nikki telling him to go to hell was AMAZING! I hope she never returns to Victor. And if she does, I will hate her too! With that said, I loved Nikki/Paul. I have never seen them originally, but they are really working together as couple! I hope they stay together for a while.

Scheming Phyllis is back and it's so great! I love it!

Olivia and Ashley scenes were great too! Loved seeing old friends back together! Hated Brad/Olivia affair, so I hope they never mention it again! LOL And Nate was mentioned! Yay!

Thanksgiving episode was great. Loved seeing all the family moments. I only wish we had more Abbotts. Loved Esther vs Jill! It was so good! I hope Katherine stays "dead" for a while. Plus, it's nice watching how she does in this "new life" as a waitress. Maybe she can fall in love with Murphy and then the truth comes out. The storyline has one flaw though and some of you already noticed it.. how come Murphy didn't find out about Katherine dying in a car accident? Wouldn't he suspect at least something? Or at least mention it to Marge? But if you move pass that, it's great! :D And too bad Chloe is getting a girl. I would love it if they named a boy Gabriel. I love that name! It clear they chose for Chloe to have a girl, just so they could give her a middle name Katherine. LOL

And finally, what made me most happy... Winters storyline is heating up! Woohoo! I hope we get Yolanda back in form of Chene Lawson, who was GREAT! And then this ugly custody battle happens! It would be so great! And it's clear that this crisis with Ana will lead to Neil and Tyra getting closer together. Should be good! :D

Y&R continues to be great!

I'm really enjoying this new Winters family drama too. I've always thought Bryton was a good actor and that Y&R was totally wasting him. So far he's getting really good material with this storyline - he's great in Monday's US ep. I was also impressed with Eva Pigford.

    • Wait - so no Will, Jack, or Jen at John's funeral? That’s just weird. What was the point of bringing them back then? Did Julie and Maggie even show up? I mean, seriously.

    • Has anyone ever totted up how many women on GL slept with both father and son(s)? Reva gets a lot of crap for it but she's far from the only one: Claire Beth Blake Olivia Dina Did I miss anyone?  Also, did Reva ever sleep with Phillip? They always had some "closeness" thing, but I don't know if they ever actually did the deed. If they did, then Reva's the clear winner, with TWO families covered, lol!
    • I think Long was probably planning to have Claire suffer from Post Partum, but she left the writing staff shortly after Claire had Michelle so that element didn't get explored. And I always assumed that when Claire returned in the late 90s/early 00s.. that she was realizing that she messed up by not staying a part of Michelle's life and became resentful/bitter over her previous choices.  That was my theory.
    • Jenn was a huge part of the success of Days back in the day, and that contribution shouldn't be dismissed.  With that said, I do think her and Jack's time on the show should remain as occasional visits/drop ins. When Missy returns to play Jenn, Jenn is back to being Jenn.   Jenn in her glory days was head strong, fiesty, and was a live wire.... and her scenes with Jack on Friday was classic Jenn with Jack being the voice of reason.   It was the foundation of their relationship back in the day.
    • Claire was always tightly wound, I think what Long was going to do is to throw the three into this impossible situation with no bad guys, Mo, knowing how to take care of kids from growing up but unable to conceive and Claire, who didnt know how to take care of kids and was totally focused on her career, gets knocked up.  Ryder took Claire off the deep end as a convenient way to make story for characters he wasnt interested in (though Pratt blames McTavish) with little effort. It was later explained to be a brain tumor (though why was she a bitch again when she returned?) \ Claire did sleep with Rick, she was his first!
    • I'm sorry, truly I am, but this literally made me LOL. Tempting fate, much?

    • Oh, I have very little doubt that Missy feels some way personally and privately.  Donna was just saying she actively spoke out against Days in public in reference to the gay storylines, which she did not. I don't have super strong feeling about Jen one way or another.  She was always a side character to me.  I still think Missy is Jen regardless of her stupid beliefs.
    • I hated the swap-over; Clayton Norcross, to me, was far superior in the role of Thorne than Jeff Trachta ever was. And the recast left me disliking Thorne when he was the superior son to me. As for Teri Ann Linn, I feel like she got the raw deal. Kristen was very clear as a forefronting character, especially in her rivalry with Stephanie, and it feels like she was dropped off for Felicia, and they never returned it. Not to mention the subpar recast with Tracy Melchior in 2001. Someone like Brenda Epperson (ex-Ashley, Y&R) would've been more suited for that role.
