Well, I'd agree except...

Last week we saw, out of the blue, a remarkable Traci-Lauren scene. There was no NEED for that scene. It was a gift for the viewers. But it tied a bow around Lauren's evolution.

I think they could give us the same kind of gift, again, with Olivia-Ashley. I agree...they did claim they were over it. But since all the principles are back on canvas, and since these writers seem to respect history, and since Davidson said she had a hard time playing "forgiveness" (in her press interviews back then)....I'd like to see a 3-minute throwaway scene of genuine apology and forgiveness.

With the years that have passed since then, I'd believe it.

It would give me closure. Aren't I important :) (just kidding).

I don't want an Ashley/Olivia apology scene. My reasoning is that in the Tracey/Lauren relationship Tracey was a victim, she was a nice, overweight teen that Lauren tormented. With Ashley and Olivia you have two imperfect women who did imperfect things to each other, neither one of them was without fault.

Not to put words in Mark's mouth but Im think he's looking for an acknowlegement of the history between the two. Yeah, Liv and Ash were friends afterwards but (as far as we know) they haven't had a friendship since Liv left. Good friends don't just stop talking to one another for no reason. So while they may not be about to rip each others eyes out, there might still be some mixed feelings between the two friends. And i think an acknowlegment that all is forgiven or a mention of this past would be appropriate and even nececesary for those of us who remember what went down.

To me there isn't any need for apologies, neither Ashley or Olivia was an innocent party. Both are strong women, I don't see one of them cracking and apologizing to the other, especially since they already got over it years ago and it's in the past.

I don't think there has to be closure about the Brad Affair...Y&R hasn't always wrapped up storylines. For instance, John Abbott died thinking that Ashley was his biological daughter. There is a storyline that never came full circle, it was beautiful, I loved how everyone except John knew the truth right up until the end.

Yeah, maybe you say it better than I did.

In a show that has just been mining its history like crazy lately...again, I harken to that unnecessary but BEAUTIFUL moment between Lauren and Traci last week...to not "dredge up" the past would seem inconsistent and odd, to me.

Yeah, okay, I could buy it as unfinished business. But to not in some way acknowledge it...make a nod to the history of it...seems "un-Y&R" to me.

I confess I am looking forward to it too...no matter how it goes down. I found the Bergman-Stafford scenes electrifying. They were basically pretty ordinary...nothing so amazing about the writing...but the actors just put so much power into them.

If they get many more scenes with such passion and anger...I'll begin to believe that someday Jack and Phyllis might find their way back to one another.

With all the hostility brewing between them, I'm beginning to understand why they chose Summer's elevator birth as one of the "classic" episodes. It is in contrast to where they are now...but also reminds them of their complex up-and-down history.

I could speak/understand some french. I can pick up on some words to have an idea what's going on. There is captioning and I do use that cause they speak so quickly. LOL

Rick Hearst was so awesome as Matt Clark. Man, he's so wasted on GH. Too bad he can't come back to Y&R.....or maybe he can? Maybe Matt Clarke stole Rick Hearst's new character's face. LOL

Re: Today's US episode

Is this the first time in Y&R history that the writers have had a sane/good character, who is not a vying love interest, state that a stable good couple does not have any chemistry? I mean, those exact words "No chemistry." Isn't that a slap in the face to Nia Peebles and Kristoff St. John, who have spent almost a year and a half as a couple in love?

The sight of Ash and Liv sharing a conversation in the previews had me on the edge of my seat...

This is going to be a non-event by the book, but I'm so interested in seeing thsoe two together again. Memo to producers and writers out there: this is called character-driven drama!

I'm kind of torn whether I want them to reiterate the Brad-betrayal like MarkH or just pass over it. Since, Ash and Brad are long done I want them as best friends for now with a potential clash in the future.

Re: Rick Hearst - apart from being fantastic at Y&R, he needs to quit GH and rejoin B&B where he was fabulous but much too soon let go. Whip could really shake up the show and Brooke!

    • I still say this is Frank's way of saying goddbye to JJ, who brought nothing to the show and was a complete dud for his entire return. He's purposelY been given an awful exit. Is this all Jackson's fault? Most likely not, but I place most of the blame on him. Too many contract demands, too much working around his travel schedule, too many stories he refused to do. GH has WAY too many actors calling the shots and influencing story and hires. We've seen it hurt the show time and time again.
    • Yeah, like others have said, Paul took it home for me today. We'd be so lucky to have him back for good.
    • I really like the scenes between Dani and Andre today.  Regardless of where this goes or who they end up with.  For now I appreciate that they have honesty with one another.  There's deep truth and vulnerability.  More than before.

date: Tuesday, June 10 | Gregori J. Martin, Cheryl L. Davis | Phideaux Xavier Andre and Dani continue to use each other for their own personal reasons. I mean, good for them, but the people they truly want to be with are not each other. Anita wanting the temporary passes revoked? Oh, I know that made Sharon mad as Hell. MAD! Tracy said, "Shut up! I'm in charge now!" Bill playing around with child bride, via Ashley... that was kind of cute, but I also kind of wish it were true. Sharon, sweetie, your ugliness continues to shine bright like the ugliest of cubic zirconia. And Tracy, your vulnerability is beautiful; this reunion means so much to you, and it's genuine. That's what I want to see. So, with Bill's right side affected, then his stroke was on the left side of his brain; interesting. Very interesting, and while it's nice that he is making significant improvements, more can and will be done. Rehab, huh? Will it be at-home rehab or at a facility? That's what I would like to know. I appreciate Sharon [finally] letting that ugliness fade and her truth begin to come out. That's beautiful. Vernon continues to be wise with his years and his wisdom, and his continued connections with his grandchildren, especially discussing the past (summer of '69) with Uncle Cornelius, I love this. This is what I enjoy seeing. Dani is catching onto Chelsea's crush on Madison, and I think she approves. So, Shanice was a physical therapist to start? Quite interesting. Wait, so Anita is leaving town? Why do I suspect she's going to come home to some messes she'll have to clean up? Notes: I've loved the muted, neutral tones that Tamara Tunie (Anita) has been wearing throughout, but then we get moments like today where she wears this vibrant pop of colour, and I'm fully in love. Karla Mosley (Dani) continues to shine in her facial expressions when Marquita Goings' Hayley is talking nonsense. She embodies Dani from head to toe, eye roll and all. Tunie and Clifton Davis (Vernon) shine together; it's a natural, old-school kind of chemistry they share as a couple.
    • Maybe Vetsoapfan will chime in. He might know.
    • Yeah, I'm thinking that, too. It certainly would be one way to deflect from the embarrassment of being fired early in your contract.
    • I was hoping Dani/Andre would get caught in the most awkward way possible. lol.  Shanice is now a PT. Umm...okay. Glad they are keeping her in the mix.  Anita going to Chicago. Is this a way to have TT offscreen for some reason?
    • Andrea Evans was not on the show at this time.  A part of me does wonder if this type of story is just thrown in for juicy gossip and didn't really happen.
    • No, it couldn't have been her. She left early 1983 (with an actor who would become her husband, and still is, as far as I know). Other names from the era would be Shelly Burch (Delilah), Brynn Thayer (Jenny), and Andrea Evans (Tina). But I doubt any of these were powerful enough to push the eject button on another actress.
