You said it DeeeDee, Jess is the greatest recast ever. Brenda Who?

Tricia Cast adds something to Y&R. Realism? I don't know what it is, but I noticed it when she appeared. She should come back full time.

And let me just say that I love Ashley and Victor, they LOOK like a power couple.

I haven't seen this episode yet, but reading all these great reviews makes me ecstatic to watch.

I've always enjoyed Nina, but I fell in love with Tricia Cast during the Ryan/Tricia storyline. THAT was mesmerizing, especially the scene where she contemplated suicide. She should have won an Emmy that year! Y&R PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE sign her FULL TIME. BUT if you do, please don't destroy the character, like so many others.

Melody Thomas Scott? What can I say? No other actress even compares this year, IMO the trophy is her's, but the academy will most likely give it to someone else.

I think Nina is one of Bill Bell's greatest creations. Bill had no intention of ever creating the Nina character, until he saw Tricia Cast's brief run on Santa Barbara and heard that she would not be there for long, so he created Nina for her. He took a character that had no ties to anyone and fully established her, and made her one of his most layered creations.

She was such an important part of Y&R for the years she was there.

I love that she asked for Cricket too, since they were best friends and Nina always made Cricket more tolerable to me.

A lot of that was Tricia too.

She defined the character as much as Bill.

The thing about Tricia is that she has chemistry with EVERYONE.

There is not literally one actor and/or character that she DOESN'T have chemistry with.

Still is!

And that she was so happy to see her BFF's Danny, Paul & Esther.

Finished watching Friday's show with my mother a few hours ago, and all I can say is...WOW.

In fact, when Victor strolled into the church to give us that classic Friday cliffhanger, I turned to my mother and said simply..."Now THAT'S good soap opera!" :D

Today's show was just...I can't even put into words how good it was!

Nikki got it from all sides today with Ashley and then Jill being UBER bitches to her today. And while I can't stand Nikki, MTS made me feel her pain today.

Jess Walton is knocking this funeral stuff out the park and I can only expect more supurb acting from her in the aftermath of the will reading.

Loved the the returns of Dina, Nina and even Danny. Nina's line about Cane being "no Phillip" was great.

I doubt Hogan was responsible for the Larry's note or that he's detailed into Y&R's history to have it in his breakdown. It was probably MAB or Sandra Weintraub's (the script writer) doing, or maybe Janice Ferri Esser added that during editing.

I think that's my biggest worry too. The emotion is almost *too* great for this story. How will they ever be able to top themselves when (God forbid) Jeanne Cooper passes?

I suppose I'll just enjoy the fact that Jeanne Cooper is getting amazing material in a age-discriminating Hollywood.

^^^I agree. I mean who would have thought an 80-year-old woman would be getting a storyline, let alone frontburner. If this was ABC, Cooper would have been gone a looooooooooong time ago. But Frons did call CBS the "nursing home" network. Jackass!

    • While I do love the chaotic energy that is Kat vs Lesile, it is a bit extra. Sheltered, virginal Kat who plays it safe from her man to her wardrobe understands that Leslie is dangerous, but she's out here showing up everywhere and anywhere that Lesile is to be found and actively going to places where she is alone? I mean Kat doesn't even act a little afraid or intimidated by Leslie. Meanwhile, big Ole Derek out here begging for his and Ashley's life to Jacob.  As for Dani, I didn't see it that way. Dani and Bill were together for 30 years and shared a family. I believe there was real love there at one point. Bill is still an ass and Dani is still crazy, but realizing she may lose him and her daughter's may lose their dad definitely struck a chord.
    • Funny I randomly saw Kami’s lengthy post about the 44th anniversary of the Walton’s finale last week pop up in my news feed on Facebook. A few inaccuracies to her post but overall it was pretty insightful and interesting to read.
    • Well, depending on rewrites...Jennifer Richards potentially slept with Brandon and Alan. It does feel like we're forgetting someone, but then again, maybe I'm confusing that with brothers, which would include a lot more.
    • Maybe it’s me, and the fact that RC isn’t at the helm, but since Cwikly and Ford have taken over I’ve noticed the show doing a lot of things differently directing wise, and since the storyline of John’s demise began, the show has been using different scores, and dare I say better ones than this time last year. It’s interesting and I wonder if the any of it is Noel Maxam’s influence before being promoted.
    • I think Nicole is about to figure out what's going on between Andre and Dani.
    • @Efulton thank you. I don't know how I missed it or didn't recall it.  I'll blame amnesia . Anyway @Errol Could the newer thread be merged to the existing? Thanks in advance.
    • I just finished watching and I have to admit, not once did I find myself wondering who wasn't there. Quick question for anyone who followed this better than I did: was it only Andrew who rescued Cat and John from Clyde, or was Shane involved too? The reactions during their scenes today felt a little off to me. I know it was meant to be vague, but I didn't find it strange that they already knew each other.
    • Yeah, financially, Luna is in better shape than Deacon and Sheila.   -- Scott Clifton must have decided to chew the scenery in every scene of this "Liam is Dying" storyline. Yikes.
    • If J.R. wasn't busy with Ewing Oil, he'd be a heckuva soap recapper. He was SO gleeful at recapping Jenna-Bobby-Pam when the trio and Mark encountered each other at the Oil Baron's Ball. That being said, Lucy, presumably Sue Ellen and maybe Ray should all know this story, or at least part of it. Lucy was definitely at Southfork during Jenna and Bobby's relationship, and I believe Sue Ellen was about to marry J.R. around the time Jenna jilted Bobby. (Ray might not have given a damn.)
