It could be. There aren't any huge changes yet, but small stuff that we might think he did. We'll see how this changes with time.

Changes can be made from the first day. There wasn't something extremely different, though, so we'll just have to wait and see how this goes....

It's easy to notice the subtle differences from Rauch's first day. Rauch has some directing experience, many books even say he directed quite a few episodes of AW in the 70's, and his shows have always been wonderfully directed. Also, the EP is usually in the control room when stuff is being edited or directed. Compare that to Josh Griffith who has absolutely no production experience, I do see subtle differences.

However, as time goes on, I'm sure we'll see more Rauch-isms in the overall production of the show. Other than his love for harsh bright lighting, he's not all too bad at overall production. His loves big, beautiful, and spacious sets and beautiful interior design.

This is totally random, but I found this pic of Chloe/Kate...back when Esther was marrying "Normie". Sorry for the poor resolution....

What do you mean? You mean you want a screen cap or something? I like that Y&R has peddled a consistent brand (on its logo) since the early 1980s. Before this logo was introduced, they made good use of that regular font.

Hmmm...I remember loving him on Knot's Landing where...coincidentally...he often had elevator scenes with Bob (?) (or was he Bob, and the other guy was Mort?). I realized elevators were a LML trademark.

Ahhh...google!

Mark Haining played Mort Tubor, and then went on to play Norman Peterson on Y&R. Imdb doesn't list his Y&R credit, and he seems to have dropped out in 1998.

At that page is a video...there is a quit shot of Haining in it that is clearer. Of course, I HATE Norman for killing Sexy Rexy. Did Norman die, or go to prison, or....?

MarkH is so right - the backstory on Phyllis is so blatently missing that it just wreakd of laziness. Unlike some Phyllis-haters, ?i think she is ripe for a character renaissance. Under Hogan Sheffer (he did for Barbara Ryan, Katie Perretti on ATWT and many others)- i expect it to be gloriously messy and dark and intiguing - and mixing in Stafford's A-Game complexity, it could make for one of Y&R's best stories in years. And not some - her "dad beat her when she was young" kind of thing but more of a Phyllis vs. The Newmans type of thing with a big custody battle a la old Phyllis vs. Danny and the bug for custody - and how Danny Romalotti could come in and give Nick some chilling advice - "She's crazy, man!!" And Phyllis lying and scheming and doing anything she can to keep Summer and punish Nick and fighting with Sharon. it would change the whole dynamic of things on the show - Daniel, Victoria, JT, Jack . A new big enemy for the Newmans. And how awesome a new friendship for Sharon and Amber?

There's just so many more s/l possibilities for Phyllis free of Nick than with him.

Please, no Phyllis backstory!!!

I love Phyllis, and I love La Stafford, but I don't need to know why 'oh, why' she's the way she is.

We've been given hints in the past (her rocky relationship with her parents, who were on the show, and her being large as a teenager thus being an outsider), and they are enough for me. I just wish they would just mention her crazy past a bit more... they seem to have forgotten everything about that.

    • Yeah. I wasn't feeling it either. If it was meant to be a chem test, it didn't work. I don't think so. Because I think Neil and Liz moved into that house after Stefano "died", and Neil lived there until he went to go see his patients and never came back

    • Canada aired a repeat today Tues. Nov. 18. So after being a day ahead for the past week, they will now be back in sync with U.S.
    • I was really starting to enjoy it, but after Anspach, Shelton and Keane left, it got a bit blah to watch. Jane Russell was great as Rose, Buddy Ebsen as Toat was interesting as well.  If a second season were in the cards, I would have signed  Karen Carlson on to a contract and cast a couple more women as regulars. The cowboy aspect could continue. Sam Elliott, as always, was fantastic,  The camaraderie between Roy and Quisto was really good as well. Cybill... she was sex on a stick and unapologetic.   Poor Robin Wright barely lasted five minutes, though, before being raped and murdered.
    • I love it that we've gone from daylight to dark -- Luna's even returned to work -- but Steffy is still sitting next to shirtless Finn on the sofa.

    • Is the current DiMera mansion the same mansion Stefano moved into around 1983?  I remember that house was out near a lake, and not far from Doug Williams' night club.  In fact, there was a tunnel connecting Doug's Place to the DiMera mansion.  If it supposed to be the same house, I'm fairly sure it is not the same set.  But I'm aware sometimes soap opera sets change without any explanation
    • Amazing work @slick jones I remember watching and enjoying Yellow Rose but losing interest once they went to self contained episodes, Interestingly that's the opposite of what Dallas, KL and FC did. So maybe YR should have been more episodic at first and then go to a fully fledged serial. But really the timeslot was the problem -Sat @10 was not the spot for a serial. And Rounders turned out to be a poor lead in. Maybe 9-11 Tues following A Team would have helped.
    • LOL!!! He looks like he is reacting as if Luna just passed bad gas or something.
    • Doug Marland came on board shortly before Gloria Monty, I believe. Jackie Smith was in charge of ABC daytime at that point. All of the characters in place were not his creations. Alan was created by Irving and Tex Ellman who wrote the hurricane story a few months before and brought in Alan, Scotty, David Hamilton, Dorrie and Lisa/Lana. His first character was  Bobbie in Jan 78. Apart from wrapping up the Lan/Lisa story he pretty much kept all the stories going just adding new elements.
    • She is 29... she's inching closer, and we know how important age is on soaps.

    • When I saw that look on Will's face, I thought, "Yeah, there's no one on set giving direction to Crew Morrow. There's no one giving notes." His dad Josh was green when he started, but not this green.
