Definitely should have cut that clip down. I started fast forwarding after about a minute.

I remember the first few episodes-things draaaged. Not the way to hook new viewers in. The Alex/Iris scenes were torture.

Maybe I should re-watch the series 😂

I never can get pass the first 5 episodes of Texas. I start falling asleep. I think I've tried 10 times. I may have to ask my husband to lock me in the living room and don't let me out untill I've watched at least the first 10.🤭

It's been a while but I remember liking them somewhat... but I also remember not raving about them either 😂😂

Paige singing to get a job at Top of the World stands out to me the most.

And with one of the Village People no less!

Would the audience at the time have known it was a member of the Village People? I tried to figure out what it was about by looking at the synopses on the AWHP, and it mentions that Lurlene asked if she could meet Randy Jones, but there doesn't appear to be any resolution and the rest of the story seems to be some kind of action adventure involving Ruby.

The scene with Lurlene was not part of the opening sequence. It aired either at the mid-break point or before the last act. That said, I personally loved the scene. Tina Johnson was a real find — a marvelous addition to the cast. In the context of Lurlene’s story arc, the fantasy worked. I think Texas, in a lot of ways, was copying Guiding Light’s Nola fantasies and capitalizing on the talents of an actress who had been on Broadway. Tina would go on to sing in one of the show’s final episodes. I was 19 when that scene aired, and I recall being blown away by her beautiful voice.

I'll have to tough it out and get through them... maybe this Christmas I'll do it. I've heard the show gets better and better as the episodes advance.

I remember my struggle with Texas was that I was expecting a new soap but instead you're dropped into the middle of a show that had begun months ago on Another World. It took me a while to figure out what was going on and get into it but it's definitely worth it. It gets better and better with time.
