September 23, 200817 yr Member http://www.soapoperadigest.com/news/breaking/ GL Casting Scoop! Soap Opera Digest has learned that Emmy-nominated actor Jeff Branson (ex-Jonathan, AMC) has been tapped to fill the the long-awaited recast role of GL's Shayne Lewis. Branson left Pine Valley earlier this year and will be heading to Springfield on December 1 as Josh and Reva's son, who had recently gone missing in Afghanistan. Branson is the seventh actor to play the part. Shayne was last seen on-screen back in 2004.
September 23, 200817 yr Member after all the talk THAT'S the big CBS score? BWAHHHH! He's a decent young actor. But yes, not really considered a BIG score.....
September 23, 200817 yr Member This isn't the first time he has been on GL. He played a Young Alan Spaulding in a flashback before he ended up on AMC.
September 23, 200817 yr Member I'm so over Jeff Branson. He was good for awhile, but I got tired of him QUICK.
September 23, 200817 yr Member Is he going to be another soap character in a long line who will come back "tortured" from the war, and unable to keep it together?
September 23, 200817 yr Member Is he going to be another soap character in a long line who will come back "tortured" from the war, and unable to keep it together? By the time Ellen Hack and David Hacker get through with him, he won't be Shayne Lewis anymore.
September 23, 200817 yr Member I feel so bad for him. Even though I don't like him. At least GL FINALLY casted Shayne. How many times has GL been rumored to have been casting the role?
September 23, 200817 yr Member He's too old, and...who the hell would go to work there? very good question. Wonder if he's going to have a head injury after he's found.
September 23, 200817 yr Member I realize that this is a little unfair, but I was so incredibly annoyed by his stuttering/stammering brain tumored Jonathan that I don't think I could stomach watching him for a while in ANY role. "Sick" Jonathan was right up there with Spinelli.
September 23, 200817 yr Member More power to him. A paycheck is a paycheck. Hell, it beats playing the latest victim #1 on Law & Order: SVU. Barely. And this gives him a few months to build his resume and do some auditioning. The strike screwed this year's pilot season but make no mistake a lot of these folks are just biding their time and cashing their checks. Plus based on the comments of people who have worked for both CBS and ABC soaps, anything is better than ABC.
