 And yes, only the first 5 seasons are up now, but they have said they are working to bring the rest soon. In a matter of days.  And even if you don't have the app on your tv, you can download it on your phone and use the CAST to tv option, which works perfectly well too. The best part of it is that it's free!

Maybe try using a ROKU or FIRE stick with the TV? I have a fire tv and use a ROKU stick with it

Plex appears to be running its app on recent (as in, 4K) LG TVs, at a cursory Google search. I couldn't speak for others.

This delay is just as well for me, I needed to get back to the Dallas dream season anyway.

There is even an option to cast on tv from the browser... it works perfectly well and quite frankly that's how I play it, since my laptop is always ON and I don't want to lose time opening the app every time on TV.

I was under the impression that the Latham's were in control with season 11. The year Val went with the abusive man. Before that season, they weren't in full control. That David Jacobs/Michael Filerman were still in charge.

It all else fails, @Maxim, invest in a Roku stick. They’re super inexpensive these days, and I bought one for each of my Vizios bc, well, I’ve learned that Vizio sucks. Vizio doesn’t even have Freevee, last time I checked. No ma’am, no sir.

I’m still only seeing the first five seasons show up but that’s okay bc those are the ones I want/need to watch the most. I’m spot-watching some of the big ones, and I just finished China Dolls. Exquisite. This is the Knots I’ve always wanted to wrap myself up in. The constant watching others through windows, the stomping across the cul-de-sac to launch a confrontation, the heavy emotional drama, the arguments between friends that go nowhere because they just get each other, etc. Boy oh boy, am I in for a treat.

I think Knots S6 is the peak so far for me, but I am still only midway through the show.

Amazon's main app should run FreeVee stuff fine, though.

Yeah, it never gets better than Seasons 5 and 6. There is still a lot of good in seasons 10-14 (yes, even the dreaded season 13, which I had a lot of patience for), especially seasons 10-11. I do need to rewatch them, though.

I need to stop picking random episodes to “just see” bc I’ve fully watched each one I intended to watch only a few minutes of lol Everyone is exactly right, 3-5 is the PERFECT mix of what Knots was and what Knots became. I can see why S6 is the peak. Greg Sumner’s presence changed the show’s tone forever, and I’m not sure if I really like him. Obviously Devane is a fun and engaging addition, but - and I do believe someone said this here this past weekend - he definitely pulled the show away from its domestic core. I remember reading an interview with Donna Mills where she said she pushed to get out of the cul-de-sac and away from the car dealership more, and I can appreciate the wider scope, but as a character, Abby had strong ties to all of the original characters.

Well, by peak I mean S6 is the best season thus far IMO, but that's me lol.

I think Sumner is a fascinating character, even when I don't like him. He changed the show, yes, but in a positive way.

Ain't that the g-ddamn truth!  Even my onn Roku TV that I bought at Walmart is better than Vizio, which exists solely to [!@#$%^&*] with people, lol.

You're not wrong.  Subsequent seasons have their moments, but nothing matches the brilliance of S6, or the Peter Dunne-produced seasons in general.  In a perfect world, Dunne, and not Ann Marcus, would have been asked to return and fix the show at the end of S13 (and I say that as one who thinks Marcus did a better-than-expected job).

What Greg Sumner/William Devane's introduction does for KL - besides beef up their male presence in order to compete with "Hill Street Blues" - is allow the show to expand the kinds of stories it could tell, especially as KL itself is morphing into true soap opera.  The backyard BBQ's and afternoon assignations from seasons 1-3 are nice to watch, but if KL has to compete not just with HSB but with DALLAS and DYNASTY in order to survive, then it has to get a little more...ambitious, which it can't do otherwise with Richard Avery, Kenny (and Ginger) Ward, or even Sid Fairgate.

The key for me (midway through the run, anyway) is the show still hasn't lost its domestic slice of life stuff at the cul-de-sac, or the vignettes with the families, kids and neighbors, especially the MacKenzies. That's what makes it all continue to click so well. The down to earth identity exists side by side with the upward mobility and business intrigue, because you saw where they all they came from, you saw all these former housewives from Season 1 become career women. That's why it feels bracing but still organic when suddenly Laura, Abby and grown-up Eric are all hanging out at Lotus Point.

Michele lee did one of those pioneer of tv interviews..and she did say because of the success of Dallas, and to a lesser extent Dynasty...the show had to go full on soap to keep up.

She did give an interesting take in the interview where she said that Dynasty/Dallas involved people larger in life that people couldn't relate to..but loved to watch.  She said Knots Landing involved people you could relate to..middle and upper middle class people.  She also said the characters on KL would most likely be home watching Dynasty for escapism

Also, Donna Mills did an interview as well for Pioneer of tv..and she did say the final season she was on where she hinted she knew all that Abby could do was done and it was harder to keep her human.
