I'm not saying that Sheffer hasn't influenced the show somehow, but "Sudden Impact" would've happened with or with Sheffer. This IS Maria's story. What's happening now was planned before Hogan arrived.

Yeah, I think it's time for an epic showdown between these two titans. But the scene has to deliver on all cylinders to work. I'm talking not just the acting, but the writing, choreographing, directing... just everything has to be planned masterfully. No silly gimmicks, just a one two knock out punch.

Oh, I know it's her stories, but I've noticed since Sheffer's addition we've been getting tighter cliffhangers, and the tone of the show has gone from bright and rosey to dark and moody almost overnight. I know it's Maria's long-term projections, but I think Sheffer's or whoever's tweaking has brought on a totally new sensibility to her writing.

Exactly!

They need to bang......like Rocky Vs. Appollo Creed. 15 rounds.

This back and forth with Victor always coming out on top has been done to death. Not to mention Victor vowing to find the Mob Boss responsible for the death of the baby.

I can't believe my eyes. There is a lot of positivity concerning the show. And there should be. Whoever was responsible for the hire of Sheffer deserves applause. This also shows that MAB definitely deserves a chance.

It shows as well, that they can balance each other out. MAB brings Y&R knowledge and Sheffer brings soap opera darkness. The show is VERY dark now, and I attribute that to Sheffer. I can't speak for his As The World Turns stint, but when he wrote Days Of Our Lives, that too became very dark in tone.

As long as this continues, and they continue to reign in/curb each other's excesses, then the show might be turning the corner. And remember, all the writers, actors and those in the know have said the show will be like that of old. I believe Thom Racina said more than once that the 'essence' of Y&R was going to return.

Fingers crossed...

Oh, and as for the Fade To Black/EP name, Roman, you are a person after my own heart. If that happens, i will breathe a sigh of relief...
