Members Roman
It's time for Victor and Jack to finally have a good old-fashion fist fight. This has been on the books for 25 years. They need to settle this.
Administrator Toups Posted July 31, 2008 Administrator Share Posted July 31, 2008 I'm not saying that Sheffer hasn't influenced the show somehow, but "Sudden Impact" would've happened with or with Sheffer. This IS Maria's story. What's happening now was planned before Hogan arrived.
Members Roman
If it is, he needs to, so far, receive the credit, along with everyone else.
Members MTSRocks
Yeah, I think it's time for an epic showdown between these two titans. But the scene has to deliver on all cylinders to work. I'm talking not just the acting, but the writing, choreographing, directing... just everything has to be planned masterfully. No silly gimmicks, just a one two knock out punch. Members Y&RWorldTurner
Oh, I know it's her stories, but I've noticed since Sheffer's addition we've been getting tighter cliffhangers, and the tone of the show has gone from bright and rosey to dark and moody almost overnight. I know it's Maria's long-term projections, but I think Sheffer's or whoever's tweaking has brought on a totally new sensibility to her writing. Administrator Toups Posted July 31, 2008 Administrator Share Posted July 31, 2008 Yeah those sequences were really good. I can't wait for tomorrow.
Administrator Toups Posted July 31, 2008 Administrator Share Posted July 31, 2008 Whatever is it, the combination of Maria/Hogan is working so far.
Members Roman
Exactly! They need to bang......like Rocky Vs. Appollo Creed. 15 rounds. This back and forth with Victor always coming out on top has been done to death. Not to mention Victor vowing to find the Mob Boss responsible for the death of the baby. Members Y&RWorldTurner
Who knows if Griffith is still allegedly rewriting her stuff.

Members Roman
You know, one thing I wish would change.... The fade-out to black at the end of the show, followed by the EP's name.
Administrator Toups Posted July 31, 2008 Administrator Share Posted July 31, 2008 I don't know.
Members LondonScribe
I can't believe my eyes. There is a lot of positivity concerning the show. And there should be. Whoever was responsible for the hire of Sheffer deserves applause. This also shows that MAB definitely deserves a chance. It shows as well, that they can balance each other out. MAB brings Y&R knowledge and Sheffer brings soap opera darkness. The show is VERY dark now, and I attribute that to Sheffer. I can't speak for his As The World Turns stint, but when he wrote Days Of Our Lives, that too became very dark in tone. As long as this continues, and they continue to reign in/curb each other's excesses, then the show might be turning the corner. And remember, all the writers, actors and those in the know have said the show will be like that of old. I believe Thom Racina said more than once that the 'essence' of Y&R was going to return. Fingers crossed... Oh, and as for the Fade To Black/EP name, Roman, you are a person after my own heart. If that happens, i will breathe a sigh of relief... Members Y&RWorldTurner
Anyone notice all the classical background music used this week? There's been NO TRACES of college rock background music, despite who is directing. Has Griffith grown a brain and instructed the directors to revert back to classic Y&R scoring?
