Thanks for being a friend Estelle. You will be missed. But will live on in reruns and on DVDs of the Golden Girls.

Awww ... that's so sad. I always watch the Golden Girls on Lifetime and I never get tired of one episode. She will sorely be missed. :(

RIP!!

She brought to life one of the most iconic characters in television history and she'll be missed by MANY, including myself. I can't wait until "The Golden Girls" comes on Lifetime in about twenty minutes or so...I'm definitely watching.

On July 25th, from 12 to 5pm, Lifetime is airing The Golden Girls episodes showcasing Sophia. July 25th would of been Estelle's 85th birthday.

This is so sad :(

Estelle, you will be SO missed. I'm still teary eyed about this.

Thanks for letting us know about this. I've done some quick poking around and you can go to myLifetime.com to vote on your favorite Sophia-centric episode and the #1 episode will be the last one in the marathon. It's gonna air from 12PM-5PM ET (11am-4pm CT).

I just might skip soaps that day and watch the whole marathon...I'll be sure to keep some tissues nearby.
