He consulted JG, tried to show a writer how to be a producer.

In the meantime, the higher-ups were treating it as an audition. And will make a decision accordingly. They're going to have a whole lot of egg on their faces if they hire ANOTHER disastrous EP, so they want to make sure before they do it.

But why aren't they looking in their own backyard? Both David Shaughnessy and Jack. F. Smith are still strongly affiliated with B&B, it wouldn't be hard to send them back to Y&R.

I just don't get the politics involed in all of this.

If Rauch was consulting before, we sure as hell didn't feel his influence. I don't know whether that's good or bad.

I still think Josh Griffith will be out soon, there's just too many signs.

LOL, Griffith can't be fired soon enough. I think a lot of blame for the show's problems falls on him.

There's just too many signs pointing away at his dismissal too. However, as I said before, we could always get someone much worse, I just hope it's someone decent with good experience.

A lot of people are saying the show is becoming better and better and praising MAB for it, but JG keeps getting criticized. That confuses me.

Maybe Josh Griffith would be liked more if he didn't let Anthony Morina (another one little producing experience) do all the grunt work for him.

The production isn't what it used to be, he's not a hands-on producer, and has no producing experience prior to joining Y&R. He's a writer, not a producer. He's also pushing a serious agenda behind the scenes at the show. I don't think it's any coincidence that every new writer hired (and they have no experience writing for Y&R) is represented by Griffith's agent.

If Maria and Hogan had a better and stronger Executive Producer to execute their work on screen, the show would be a million times better. I have nothing against Griffith as a writer, but he is not a producer and nor does he have the necessary skills to be an Executive Producer.

Since all signs seem to be pointing to his firing soon, fans are just worried that whoever replaces him would be just as bad, if not worse. Y&R needs someone with better producing experience, but at the same time, we don't want anyone worse than Griffith.

He also appears to lack a strong vision for the show and favours using some actors over others (and yes, your beloved Tammin falls into this category, hence why she hasn't gotten a single storyline yet). I wouldn't be surprised if he's dictating which characters get storylines and which don't. It's obvious that Judith Chapman is probably his favourite actress on the show...
