To think that a few years back April went through a whole bullying plot. lol I like that they give her a lot to do but there is no character development

Has any soap had such a long period of depressing, dark storylines as Emmerdale?

Ever since the 50th anniversary, and frankly even before that with Meenas reign of terror, it feels like there's been nothing but misery, tragedy and disasters, one after the other. We get enough of that watching the news so it would be nice to get some reprieve watching a fictional show.

I would say EastEnders ! We made so much fun of that Show cause it was the Most Depression piece of Drama on the Air. But ever since late 00‘s it’s tough. They are all equality as miserable. Lol

But I would say Coronation Street and Emmerdale are tied for it tbh

Where's the famous British humour? Where's the romance? We need something to break the seemingly endless misery that engulfs this show.

It makes no sense for instance why they cut the growing relationship between Belle and Kammy out of the blue. Or just ended Gabby and Vinny after everything they went through. It's like they're afraid of happiness. That it would somehow lessen the show, when in fact it would only enhance it.

What I wouldn't give to have Betty, Pearl and Edna back sitting in the Woolpack, gossiping about everything and everyone while providing some much needed humour.

A show that goes from a serial killer to domestic abuse to the death of a teenager to father/daughter sexual abuse to a multiple victim car crash to another murderer to blackmailing and assault to drug dealing and forced teenage prostitution is not exactly what I would call entertaining.

So, Emmerdale has its own supervillains now. Not only are Celia and son Ray forcing April and Dylan to deal drugs and trying to force April into prostitution, they're also responsible for human trafficking and slavery....

But thankfully it seems like these stories are winding down because

I love the actress, and I even like how campy villainous Celia is, but the clock was ticking honestly since she was revealed as a villain.
