I get more and more depressed as the clock ticks for Ashley to leave the village. It's gonna be so odd w/o him being there.

Vanessa is such a tramp, but I am glad that this paternity crap is getting cleaned up. At least on Adam's behalf. I like him and Victoria together and this would provide them with a fresh start. It's time for Victoria to start popping out a new generation of Sugdens b/c I am over Andy breeding with that slag, Debbie, and Robert is too much of a free-spirit to be strapped with kids yet.

Other than the Paddy story, which is sleazy and pathetic, I thought this was the best episode in a while. Sandy is breaking my heart, but I also laughed when he was hiding from Doug. Vanessa/Adam/Victoria and the baby news is so poignant to me - Adam is so happy and Vanessa was starting to feel content, and now the rug is yanked away. Nikhil is obviously head over heels for Leyla - it's adorable (yet sad because you know it won't end well at all). And Pete and Moira were surprisingly fun together, even if that will likely end horribly as well.

I am on the fence with Pete/Moira. I don't want any more affairs in the foreseeable future. If this is gonna happen, I'd prefer it be slow-burning for years. Gravitate them in each other's orbits from time to time to remind the audience of their chemistry and build them up as friends but nothing more. In about a year or two then pull the trigger. Now? Not so much. It's too much going on at the moment.

I am glad that Anthony Quinlan is fleshing out more and more during his time on this show. This role has been a blessing b/c I didn't care for him on HO for the few times I've watched it.

I am sorry but I wanted Moira or Victoria to snatch Vanessa bald when she had the gall to scream at Adam, who is clearly aching over losing Johnny. Had she kept her legs closed, no one would be in this predicament.

Belle, Lisa, and Cain's venom towards Zak annoys me. Like get over it. I know that he's in the doghouse and deserves some heat but enough. Lisa should've view this as a blessing if anything.

Kirin and Rakesh's scenes were good. A good nod to their own personal history.

Sadly I think this with Pete and Moira is just being done to push Cain/Charity and to remind us Pete is not morally superior to Ross (I get the feeling the show has some regrets over the writing for him in recent months and are doing damage control by taking it out on other male characters in his age range). If they actually bothered to write for a long-term story with Pete and Moira, it would work. Long-term stories and Emmerdale are not friends these days.

    • If NBC could have for seen the ratings of Lovers & Friends (the replacement for Somerset).. they would have for sure kept Somerset on the air longer. https://jason47.com/days/ratings1976.html  (ratings for Somerset in the final year) https://jason47.com/days/ratings1977.html (ratings for Lovers & Friends short run...getting as low as a 2 rating).

    • I liked them, too, and was really disappointed it never went anywhere. The whole art theft story was ridiculous, but they had a nice chemistry. Certainly nicer than Alan with Christine. With her, he looked like the funny uncle. The worst thing they did to Bolger, IMO, was having Phillip write that DREADFUL novel and dramatizing it while he wrote it. GAG, that has to be in the running for one of their worst storylines that didn't involve wacky things like clones or time travel. Soaps rarely do school storylines, or don't do them for very long. Not the case so much in the early days of soaps, but after GH took off in the late 70s other soaps took their lead and would catapult teens/young adults into adult stories right away. That's one reason Phillip and Mindy ended up with so many ex-spouses--they started getting married really young. They shipped Dina and Cameron off really fast after high school and stuck Alan Michael in a marriage storyline with Harley. Did he EVER go to college? I don't think so. It may also partly explain why Quint and Annabelle had to go, beyond TPTB wanting to do a cast sweep. Teaching is not a profession that plays well on a soap. Quint definitely had to quit being Indiana Jones, because that wore thin really fast, but they didn't do him favors by making him a professor. If they wanted to keep him, they should have done what they did with Amanda (who was in another dead-end soap job, concert pianist)--have him work at Spaulding as one of the major stockholders.
    • Judith McConnell (Augusta) and Denise Alexander (Lesley) were great screen partners on GH.  They got into some stellar arguments in character in the medicine room.
    • He also commented that Brad knows that fans are sick of the constant fake deaths on this show: Finn, Sheila, etc and that it's hard to take this seriously if it's another fake death

    • I just don't think Brad Bell has it in him to actually kill off Liam. He should have killed off Eric when he had the chance. I know John McCook is an original cast member, but Eric is even more useless than Liam. Eric should have died and then it would be revealed that he died without a valid will, so Donna, as his wife, inherits everything, including his shares in Forrester Creations.
    • I think we all will, isn't that how soaps work? lol
    • ^^ I'll believe it when it actually happens.
