I don't see it as that. I felt Lee was going off to get the help he needed on his own terms, away from a situation he felt was bad for him. I do think they vilified and emasculated him too much during the run-up to his exit, but I don't think they made him leave the same way. He made a choice to get better and do it on his own terms, and he said he felt better away from Walford when he could make a fresh start. While I would've liked to see a bit more focus on making it clear he was getting proper care, I don't think they sent him off not knowing what to do or thinking he was going to fix it all overnight. It was clear he knew he needed help.

That said, yes, Beanbag was a cock.

The whole Lee story was a mess IMO and gave the message that people with mental health problems are a burden to their loved ones and that they should keep it to themselves. It's probably one of the worst storylines I've ever seen on EE, it actually made me feel quite offended.

Obviously people see things differently though. I thought it started well and undid all the hard work starting with the Vic raid.

Never saw her on Corrie but I must say they did a good job with the casting of her daughter Eva as she looks just like her.

The Dot stuff was the best part of last week. Loved the satellite stuff. Lee's exit was a bit forced, I don't understand why they had to have him hit Whitney. I'm a bit bored with all this "new producer arrives, gets rid of people brought in by the previous one". Whitney & Mick is obviously going to happen and I don't know if I want to see that. Why is Linda off the show? I low-key expect her never to come back. Michelle is growing on me, but pairing her with Tina would be hilarious for the wrong reasons. I suppose Ronnie's death had an impact but poor Roxy had none. It would have had a lot more potential had she survived and had to live with herself after causing Ronnie's death, obviously building towards her falling for Jack.

Kellie Bright (Linda) is on maternity leave.

Lee hit Whitney so viewers would sympathize with her and want him gone.

No, it's not. She had primetime shows for much of the late '90s up to the late '00s. She simply aged out, had some flops, and was never much of an actress.

She didn't seem to good on Coronation St. Her accent wasn't too good. I can't deal with the accents on that show as it is let alone someone putting it on really thick.

I've pretty much dropped EE at the moment. It's lost it's spark, it was doing quite well in the hands of SOC to begin with.

I know you guys probably all know but you can buy episodes of EE on the BBC Store now, I bought Dot and Ethel's 1987 two-hander and Sharon and Michelle's (first) two-hander today. What a wonderful service!

Yes, unfortunately I agree. I don't see why all the teen guest characters have to be 'bullies'. You'd hope they'd give them a bit more depth. Hopefully we'll learn about him more down the line, the 2 girls are much worse though, I hope they don't end up appearing more frequently.

I wonder why the teens are appearing so heavily at the moment. Is SOC attempting to capture a teen demographic? If so, I wonder why. I do think it's a good avenue to go down, I just think they could have done with a less predictable bullying approach and if not, I think adding another 'good' teen to the mix would make it feel a little less bland.

    • Where do you discover this crazy rumor??
    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
    • It's a wild story for sure, especially the final conclusion (and fireworks offcamera, like Victoria Wyndham tearing into Michael Logan).
