Thanks so much, DaytimeFan. I thought that was hilarious. Jack Shepherd's hugely important for the show's future. It's comforting to know that it doesn't look like he has any ambitions beyond his job on Coronation Street.

Were there behind the scenes problems with Simon Gregson (as I think he's been ill?) or the guy who plays Tony? There's this random as hell, nonsensical story with Liz's latest dream man,

This feels like filler or a stopgap while they're waiting on something.

It's still odd sometimes to remember all the years Gail was the dour and long-suffering mother, and now they call her "Gail" and regularly take the piss out of her on a regular basis.

(I don't know what Sarah calls her though)

It was weird seeing "Erica" calling out questions on the mike tonight when I'd just watched an Emmerdale episode where Kim Tate was calling out bingo numbers.

Caught up on the Jenny-kidnapping-Jack episodes. It was bad enough that the writers forgot about Kevin's deceased son in the bit where he was talking about Maddie, he also didn't bring him up in a key moment when Rita mentioned how awful it must be to lose a child (re Jenny). A few episodes later, though, Sarah claimed that Kevin had kept on picking "nutters." This could be seen as a reference to Alison, the mother of his deceased child. I don't get it. Why didn't Michael LeVell speak up about it on set? Had he forgotten about him, too?

I was watching a March 2001 episode I'm about to upload, and Linda's brother Ryan (whom I'd totally forgotten about) warned Karen about being with Steve while Liam was in prison, and she said she'd already finished with Liam. Who was this Liam? I don't remember this.

I guess someone on the show at that time liked the names Liam and Ryan.

They really didn't know what to do with Linda once the affair with Mark ended. And then some of her family hanging around afterward due to Jacqueline Pirie's abrupt exit. I didn't realize that that pointless woman propping up the bar with Fred in the early 2002 episodes was her mother.

He actually talked about it in an interview (saying Kevin would ultimately sympathize with Jenny), so I assume he remembered, but I think he doesn't have the power to make his voice heard.

I don't think Kevin should have been so cold to Jenny when she was finally apprehended. He should have felt sympathy for her and had a look of sadness on his face rather than a look of "Oh, good, the cops got you, so f**k off to jail." I would have had Sophie angry, though, and had her throw in something like "I blame YOU for Maddie's death, Jenny. If she hadn't run to see me to tell me she knew the truth about you then she wouldn't have been at the wrong place at the wrong time."

    • I am wholeheartedly enjoying this show. I just haven't been able to post as much as I used to. But yes, this episode needs to be submitted for the EMMYs and there needs to be wins. I better NOT see Y&R, DAYS, or B&B winning in categories over BTG. I feel like the only show that is giving BTG an ounce of competition this season is GH.
    • I never thought the day would come, but too much MM for me.
    • I think it may be that the character was brought in for a specific purpose and then became popular with viewers, and the show didn't know how to respond.  The choice to pivot away from Simon/India may show that you are right and they didn't care for her...although pairing them up may be another sign they didn't care for her. I don't connect well with this period but it does make me happy seeing some of these characters before the great purge and some of the surprises - I'd forgotten the wonderful Maureen O'Sullivan popped up to be bumped off. So typical of soaps by this point, but it doesn't grate as much as later on when Y&R would bring on any random cast member from Small Wonder. I'm also amazed at this time at just how much money the show must have had. The costumes for the Founder's celebration in summer 1984, or whatever it was, looked gorgeous.
    • Which officially started to feel that way today with them hearing each other out as they confronted each other at the same time.    Same. He was even catching himself when he was about to go overboard or do those tics that people don't seem to like. He failed a bit at the end, but he carried. It makes me think about a month back when it was discussed that the actor was better in other things he's been in. And I questioned then if that meant that he was playing Martin more intentionally. I questioned that briefly again today because he was giving.
    • I really like the actress who plays Margo. Don't know  her name. I'm so hesitant to google anyone because I don't want to know the length they were on the show. I've watched two episodes and I have to say that the show does not feel as dated as other shows. I tried to watch Ryan's Hope a few weeks back and some of the acting was a bit rough. EON is a lot more natural which amuses me considering it's a mystery/thriller show.
    • She’s INCREDIBLE. I’m so glad you enjoyed this my friend.
    • I loved SOAP OPERA NOW because they  did detailed analysis of the ratings.
    • I love MKA and feel like they never used her to her full potential with India. The character seemed to exist merely to fight with Alex and blackmail men into marrying/sleeping with her. As if! Then adopting an orphan right out of Little Orphan Annie...somebody BTS didn't like her, I think.
    • I mean...Sarah Michelle Gellar did go on to be a household name and food guru. I can see Ambyr doing the same with the same talent.  Amen.
