I'm not really buying into this concept of "mind raping". Keeping Marty away from Cole and not being honest about their past is bad, but it really doesn't compare to physical rape at all. Todd doing it, is much creepier than Ramsey doing it because of the past, but I just don't see this as being in the same league as leading a gang rape against her.

In fact, if it were still Ramsey who had her, I would say he's doing her a favor by keeping her hidden away. If Marty has all the issues Michael mentioned I can only imagine what her reaction would be to finding out everything that is happening with Cole. She probably would stand a better chance of recovery in isolation.

id love it if i thought there would be a fallout, that didnt involve todd losing the ones he loves. i dont fing care if he lsoess the ones he loves because they do this story year after year after year.

guza and higly have nothing to do with this. a good writer stands on their own, not by comparision.

I'm spoiler free so I really have no idea what's happening in the coming weeks and if it already isn't possible, please don't tell me.... lol

But what I would love to see is Todd fall in love with Marty as he serves as her caretaker. I want him to believe that she is the one person who makes him a caring, feeling man with a heart he has never known before. I want amnesiac Marty to cause Todd Manning to fall in love.... hard... head over heels. To the point that thought of being without her makes it simply impossible to breathe.

And then, I want the day to arrive where John tells Marty of her past history with Todd. And while Marty, who will have fallen in love as well, will be devastated, I want to see Todd suffer because Marty is suffering. I want to see him crushed. I want to see him lose a woman he truly loves because of his raping her all those years ago. And I want his heart to bleed, knowing that this is what he deserves because of his past actions.

You know what? I love the Todd-Marty scenes. I like the way he is so uncomfortable around her, while she seems stronger and a lot like the old Marty again.

The scene where she asked him about their past and she later told him to carry her out was the best in the episode.

This is getting very interesting. It looks like things are not going the way Todd planned them. He propably thought that he kidnapped Christina Chambers's weak version of Marty and now he is in trouble.. lol

I loved how Marty kind of made fun of him and asked him if he was unable to carry her. And she was talking to her rapist.

I for one hope that they fall in love.

not with Todd feeding her lies and taking advantage of her. I can onmly imagine the shock and trauma she will go through when she finds out that her former rapist kidnapped her and that everything he's told her were lies

I think that is how I am viewing this story. I am a newer viewer to OLTL so I am not 100% sure on all the history of these two. I have started watching some of this storyline on You Tube. But at this time I am not really seeing this as a story to put together Marty and Todd. From what I have seen of Todd he is nothing but a self-centered, selfish a-hole. He sees the world in a completely different reality where he can do no wrong and/or it is never his fault. This is just continuing this pattern. I wonder if in the end of all of this we see a total breakdown of Todd. At this time I think it is an interesting story that is being played out.

But you seem to be madly in love with Dena Higley's writing, and there are comparisons to her all the time. Are you insinuating Ron isn't a good writer? ANY writer can be compared to someone else. People sing the praises of Sheri Anderson all the time and make comparisons.

So, if I want to consider someone a not good writer, all I have to do is compare them to someone else. I'll keep that in mind. :P

I'm not so sure he's lost Jack yet. He hasn't totally lost Vicki. And even Blair seems to have residual feelings, otherwise, she wouldn't have gone to his penthouse/apartment/condo or whatever to check out this "other woman". And, he hasn't landed in jail for beating up the teens. This whole thing might end up getting twisted in the Starr's baby storyline.

actually i am not madly in love with DH's writing. I am however really enjoying a show she is writing for the first time this decade. sure people can compare, but to compare one writer to another in order to build them up is... funny... why do they need to be compared? why cant they just be judged on what they write, not on what theyw rite compared to what someone else writes. i feel the same about comparing actors. 'xxxx' is great because 'xxxx' sucks - umm? really? why cant they just be good on their own? same for soaps. of course a comparison is going to me made - but it shouldnt be a factor as into who is good and who is bad.

and no i am not insinuating Ron isn't a good writer. i may not LOVE oltl, but i do think that Ron is an amazing writer and by far one of the ebst to his this genre in years. i think its amazing what he done with the show in one short year. and i hope he can keep it up. but as much as i enjoy him doesnt mean i am going to over look anything i disagree with or am unsure with.

and you can do whatever you want to. i just dont agree that comparing someone who one feels is a good writer to someone who they feel is a bad writer proves to anyone that said writer is good. now, pointing out what they do right and what they have done right and everything good they have done, that might.

I just don't understand why people think there won't be fallout. This is the HW that has every Buchanan suffering and reeling from mistakes made MONTHS ago -- from Clint's end, from Jared's end, from Natalie's end, from Asa's end, etc.

Why do we think there won't be fallout for Todd? Did I miss something? If there's one thing I feel like RC does, and does well, it's FALLOUT. This Nash thing has been going on for WEEKS, and every day he finds a new angle, a new step forward, anything to keep it going and not make it stale. Hell, even Dorian is experiencing fallout from what she did with Charlie (with Mel haunting her).

There's fallout all over the place. Why would Ron not deliver in this situation as well?

Dont get me wrong, the Emmy worthy scenes that should be coming up after is this over; I know they are coming. I dont doubt that. R.F.F.C means Ron Flyguy Fallout Carlivati, I've got that. ;) It's the just the story in the present, that is my problem. I could think of 100 other ways to involve Todd in her return than "amneisa and the caretaker", but then again, I don't write for OLTL.

i am sure there will be fallout, for everyone.. esp marty/john/cole/starr/starleet/marcie/michael/blair/ tonfs of otjhers.

but todd? what possable fallout is he going to have? his family wont speak to him? marty will hate him? john will hate him? what? idk.

im also sure the fact that i *hate* marty doesnt help me invest in this, but then again i hated Jared and even nash by the point he died and i was invested because i knew the fallout would be amazing.

it just seems so.. blahh to me. i hate the storyline. hopefully it goes somewhere because i am so not down for months of todd/marty chatting and bonding.

For me, a key to where this storyline is heading was when, during one of their many arguments, Cole said to Todd that the reason Todd is so frustrated and unhappy is because he'll never be able to make it up to Marty for what he did to her now that she's dead. This is Todd's chance to recreate his self image, however temporarily, into what wishes he would have been without the stigma of being a rapist.

It also dovetails into the over-riding Lord Family arc that has his sister Tina re-creating herself as the lap of luxury Princess she's always wanted to be and his sister Viki recreating herself as a simple waitress. All three visions are doomed because, in the end, they'll never escape who they are.

I think there will be fallout for everyone BUT Todd. Unless he loses everything, and by that I mean Sam, Viki, Starr, Blair, Jack, Jess, Nat(basically his family) and hits rock bottom then he'll never face any real consequences.

He's been doing this kind of crap for YEARS and never suffering much for it.

What has he suffered from beating up on Cole? NOTHING.

Unless Carlavati shows me something onscreen that Todd is gonna face some REAL consquences then right now I'm of the feeling Todd will continue to get away with what he does and it will continue to be whitewashed.

    • Where do you discover this crazy rumor??
    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
    • It's a wild story for sure, especially the final conclusion (and fireworks offcamera, like Victoria Wyndham tearing into Michael Logan).
