Members Darn
Don't you all find this terribly boring? It seems like for the past 5 years all DOOL has done is fire and re-hire actors. That is just so...dull. It's stuck in this truly bizarre holding pattern of moving forward one week and going back the next. I just personally wouldn't bother getting excited about any story. Members MarkH
Like when Reilly killed off most of the veteran cast? But then they all showed up on Melaswen? Oh yeah, that was all planned too!
Members DaysFanatic777
Joy To The World!!!!!!!!!!! This is the best Days news I could possibly see (short of the firing of a certain head-writer). In my honest opinion, Days has been better this week though, and I look forward to seeing what they have planned for the Dimera's with the Pheonix back at the helm. I wonder how long it took Corday to dry his eyes and dust off his knees after begging him back? EDIT: I just thought, one of two things happened here, and this is just my thoughts..thats all. #1: It was all planned to drum up publicity and get the show some buzz (Corday likes negative energy) for a while. They were all in on it and Joe was told her would return for August. OR #2: Ken called and said "We got the pick-up, but I'm told we won't be renewed for sure in '09. As much as you have a right to be mad, we would really like for you to come back and help us give this show the send-off it deserves, since your character is such an important part of the show." This might be the last send off......
Members aMLCproduction
I believe it was planned to throw everyone off. Joe had to up the rhetoric to make it seem like he was mad so that we would all buy it.It does make sense, to me anyway. Corday is good at these kind of things. Members marlenafan
Hell....I am so glad to know he is back! Thank God...I am looking forward to Stefano coming back and kicking all the freeloaders out of his house...INCLUDING JAWN! Just know that as long as we still have this pathetic excuse for John, I will be rooting for Stefano in the Jawn vs Stefano feud. Hopefully Higley won't screw this storyline up. I wish they would bring back Reilly to write it. Now that man knew how to write some exciting storylines for John, Stefano, and Marlena. As long as he makes Marlena fierce and not some saintly sap, I'll be happy.
Members Vee
Oh, for God's sake. It was not planned. Melaswen was not planned. The actors returning was not planned. This was not planned. Nothing DOOL does is planned anymore. Nothing.
Members JackPeyton
You mean like the quotes we got from Drake when he was 'fired'? Because he wasnt exactly thrilled either. Sure JM were extreme, but IMHO still bullshit... I am not saying it *was* planned, but it honestly wouldnt shock me. I wish it wasnt true tho, because i hate it when stefano is on. I get, he is evil. He is bad. He is the reasol the poor little helpless perfect brady family ever has any issue in life. Thats part true. I dont think the early actors knew. I dont think it was planned from the start, but it was obvious by Tony's death it was planned, IMHO.
Members Darn
That's not called planning, it's called hastily rewriting the story.
Members SouthOfSoap
I'm sure it wasnt planned by Higley. But maybe this is Draughon's plan? (in which case, he planned it )
Members detroitpiston
I might have to start watching DOOL again. When does TB leave?
Members tylerbo20
i wonder if he was axed to free some money up so when nbc looked at it they could see that they didnt spend that much then after they got renewed for a year they hired him back lol...anyway bout time we got some good casting news...i was freaking out that they recasted brady and he was returning or mimi or rex and cassie....you know usless characters....but would like to hear vivian returning soon. Members Sapounopera
You know what, I really don't see a reason for Stefano to return to the show. I wish DAYS would stop being so obsessed with the Dimeras and focused on the Hortons for a while. Stefano returns as the villain, I guess Jawn will return to being... John. This sounds horrible. It's the same all over again. DAYS is the most boring show right now.
Members MarkH
I was just teasing when I said it was "planned". OF COURSE it wasn't planned. I mean, they rented a movie theater to screen Suzanne Roger's farewell (by throat slitting, right?). These were major events designed to draw in viewers (the roadkill/accident on the side of the road phenomenon...plus the horror-porn demographic), and to clear the canvas of expensive vets. Of course, it was a miscalculation. As Y&R's recent travails show, when you diss history and veterans...well...people get mad and sometimes they leave. AND young people DO NOT replace them (at least not in substantial numbers). The same thinking, I AM SURE, was behind the Mascolo firing. He was expensive, and Dena/team didn't have ideas for him. So they used an upcoming cycle to terminate him. EXCEPT: (a) there was fan revolt, and ( it is likely that the ADHD of the creative team suddenly came up with an idea for him. So, after that happened, they had an "oh, sh*t" moment, and then KC did as instructed: HE GOT DOWN ON HIS KNEES. Let's face it: For the 80 year old Mascolo, the sight of KC on his knees was probably....worth it :-). He now knows what he is dealing with...he'll live each day at a time. I suspect he'll have no more loyalty to Days than vice versa. Which is why it would be fun if Brad Bell suddenly swooped in and stole him away mid-story. Personally, I suspect that Massimo will be used to facilitate Stephanie's departure (on-screen or off-screen), when Flannery finally retires. She never realized that Mass was the man she needed and wanted...he loved her for who she was (physically, dispositionally). I don't think JM is done with B&B yet either.... Members ChiTownBoi03
Well, finally some good news. I might tune in for that one, although I don't entirely trust Higley with it. This could possibly rest in the hands of the co-writer, I sure hope so. I only liked Stefano under Reilly...he did exciting things with him. But I digress. In any case, great great news.
