June 21, 200817 yr Member Watching the emmy's last night it really struck me how awful AMC looks. It never really struck me until clips of AMC were placed between clips of other soaps. When they went through the lead actor clips and got to AMC I was shocked at how bad it (and DC and JY) looked in comparison. I felt the same way when they did the skit at the beginning and switched between Cameron's clips with the View people (which looked fine) and the Sherry's clips with Zach/Kendall, Jake/Aidan/Greenlee, and Erica. I used to like the "film look" (or whatever it is) on AMC. But now I really think it needs to go back to being filmed the way it was before. I've also seen many people since this started in 2006 state that the look makes them feel less connected to the characters and show and AMC cannot afford to alientate any more viewers. June 21, 200817 yr Member It's changed so much from the real 'film look' that debuted in 2006. It almost looks like it used to pre-Confusion debut. I love it.
June 21, 200817 yr Member It's SOOO minor--unless I just have a really crap tv, I can hardly even see it. It was WAY more extreme when ti debuted and it looked almost like The City. I actually thought it had been ditched completely I'm embarassed to say.
June 21, 200817 yr Member It's what makes AMC stand out so I say they should keep it. I actually like it alot.
June 22, 200817 yr Member Much better than it was. It surprises is me it took a while to get it right (right IMO). Not as if it's never been done before.
June 22, 200817 yr Author Member Seriously? Nobody noticed how different DC's clip looked from the rest!? If my husband hadn't said "why does your show look like so strange?" I'd think I had imagined it.
June 22, 200817 yr Member I still hate the film look, but I've gotten used to it. My main reason for hating it, though, is that there was nothing wrong with the way it was. Tell me one long-term positive that's come out of the film look.
