ATWT: June 2-6 Discussion

I think a Kevin/Luke story would have unfolded naturally, because we'd already seen Kev and gotten some of his backstory. With Noah, everything is cartoonish--ArmyDadSupervillian---it's like ATWT really doesn't want to say anything about being gay other than, "conservative parents would flip out, period and go on shooting rampages".

And Nuke will never break up. Just like Willen never broke up for more than a month or so. Can you imagine the campaign to reunite them? Oy...it makes my head hurt already.

I personally think Nuke will break up, but like you said it won't be much longer then the Will and Gwen break up's.

I personally wish for the next story they would start going more into Luke and Noah's love for each other, and Noah's back story more, minus Winston of course. I think they can fix alot of this story they just need to start doing it. And stop being afraid of what the AFA is going to say, just tell the story.

Personally I think everything that has gone wrong with the story is to be blamed on PGP and them being afraid of what some viewers would think, and in reality it would have been no different with Kevin or anyone else, because the result would have been the same, we have to create storys to keep them from doing things a couple would do. Kevin's back story was great, but the writers still would have done the same crap in the end.

LOL..you have me laughing again PJ. ;) Yeah this Army Dad crap is so blah. I mean why is he taken Ameera hostage....why didnt he just kill Luke when he had the chance. That's what he has wanted all this time. Luke out of Noah's life. This story makes zero sense to me. And I can see the Nuke fans going bizerk over them being split up.

Except like you said Kevin's backstory that coupled with his frienship with Luke was so much better told. I remember the suspense of Luke telling Kevin he was gay. It was must see TV. With Noah..he just blurted it out...it had zero impact. Luke relationship with Kevin was one that was blossoming. His relationhip(if you can call that) with Noah was ff story material...lets [!@#$%^&*] now because I am gay and love u. No who are you Noah.....I want to know...where you come from...who are you parents....BAM let's just [!@#$%^&*]!

I get your point and I agree that the end result would have definitely been the same type of stuff we're seeing...Luke and boyfriend antagonized because they're gay, Luke worried that boyfriend might be interested in girl, etc. The main difference for me, however, would have been that I knew and understand why Luke even cared about Kevin. I don't get what made Luke fall for Noah and vice versa. With Luke and Kevin, we had actual scenes with Luke telling Jade exactly why he had feelings for Kevin and why he couldn't help but have a crush on him. And we saw it play out...we saw the longing looks that Luke would give Kevin at the country club, we saw them wake up hungover at Lucinda's house...we saw all that. With Noah, I just feel that the writers wanted to throw the Luke fans a bone and they realized that many (not all, certainly not me) would be satisfied just to see Luke in a relationship, even if they threw logic and buildup out the window.

Let me add that I'm not ATWT bashing just to ATWT bash. I'm the type of person who needs to see or at least be aware of characters' motives, and that's for anything. I once turned off a really good melodramatic movie from the 1950s on TCM because two characters met at the very beginning and by fifteen minutes into the movie, they were engaged to be married and she was already checking out his brother. Alls I see in those type of situations is that the characters want to [!@#$%^&*] each other's brains out and that's why they're in luuuurve. More like lust at first sight, if you ask me.

I do get what you guys are saying about us not knowing much about why they love each other, and I agree that is one total shame of the whole story, I do think in the beginning we were starting to get those reasons, and I know everyone hates me bringing up the kiss crap, but I really think when there "ban" started is when any kind of story based on why they love each other ended, and storylines based on ways so they can't love each other started. It was like they stopped the reasons for why the love each other, and the ways of showing there love all at the same time.

And yes with Kevin we knew why, but how far would we have gotten, even knowing more why they loved each other? One kiss and it would have been the same result, infact it was because as soon as Luke gave Kevin mouth to month, that story pretty much stopped.

But you see the "ban" really wasnt the problem with Nuke. Their problem has always been their storyline. There is much more to being gay than kissing. Luke and Kevin relationship proved that. If I am making an sense.

You see but with Kevin we didnt need the "kiss" like we did with Nuke. We knew both cared for each other. No kissing was needed to tell us that. The writing told us that. The reason the Luke and Kevin story was stopped was not because of the mouth to mouth but because the writers had Noah already planned for Luke.

Nope, because all of those storylines were based off of ways not to show there love, and never to show or express why they do love each other, so yes it is all about the kisses. And I do get that there is more to love then kisses, but the kisses are the reason WHY things were never allowed to be continued storyline wise.

I think most people totally missed the point on why fans wanted the kisses, it was not just so they could see them kiss, it went alot deeper then that. And I still to this day cannot believe that people had a problem with fans trying to get that. Even if a fan does not like Luke and Noah, they still should have been on board with the idea of a gay relationship being told the way a straight one would be told.

How could they have had Noah planned for Luke, Noah did not show up for over a year after Kevin. The show got scared away from going there with Luke and Kevin that is why it stopped. Then they got pressure from fans to bring in a love for Luke, and they finally did, and then they fucked that up as well, because some people could not have a real gay relationships on there screen.

I just know what I know...or what I feel but Nuke feels forced to me. Kevin and Luke never felt forced to me. I use to be a huge fan of Nuke. Not so much anymore. A lot has been done to make me not be a fan. Some I cant explain here.

And today's show...more Brad and Katie..ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...this is why the show sucks.

I can totally get your first feelings because if it feels forced to someone then that makes sense if you don't like them, but I think you are talking about other boards as your second reason, and for me I would never let another board distract from who I like or don't like. I get how it can make you not like fans of a couple, but not that the fans/boards make you not like the couple.

I wish Mama Peretti could come back also, and yes I hate Katie as well. Where is Simon, Katie needs him. It's the only time she is even tolarable to me.
