Members Gray Bunny
I would love musical scores from their 1994-1997 era, without a doubt. I feel like a dork saying that, but hell, I'd totally buy it! And I agree in not liking anything post-1997. Way too rinky-dink, cheesy, hokey-pokey sounding. Although some of the slower "Princess Gina" music was good; the stuff that wasn't faster with little women chanting Ah! Ah! Ah! La-la-lah! or whatever, LOL... Members daysgoby
Could I be hoping for too much that they may include Bo and Carly's theme - 'One Dream'?
Members Sindacco
The Bo and Hope theme was in the mid 90s, I think around 95-96. That was after Marty left so that means Corday composed it One thing I don't like about Corday's music (but maybe this is the the music directors fault) is how it keeps getting replaced after a while. Just to show you what I mean. This clip is from 1998, listen to the background music. Please register in order to view this content This clips is from 2002. This one is from 2006. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVyQ3YLGqME And a clip from the present episodes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-qo04PN4sc Notice how the music is not the same? I have no problem with them making new scores but why replace old ones? Compare with B&B that are still playing their classic scores in scenes while also doing new ones.
Members EricMontreal22
DAYS wanted to seem more modern I think--so updated their scores more (I mean B&B still looks like a show from 1989...) In Germany where Days was apparantly massive in the 80s, and I think other areas in Europe, they actually at some cost had film composer Harold Faltermeyer rescore the show (Faltermeyer is famous for his disco work in the 70s--as arranger on many Donna Summer albums but in the 80s he did many film scores oin synths including Top Gun and Beverly Hills Cop where his ubuquitous Axel F theme came from--as well as producing a Pet Shop Boys album and other hits). I've always wanted to hear some of his work for the show--it seems so odd they got him to do it, though I know he used the gorgeous little known \Donna Summer ballad he produced in 87, Fascination, as a love theme on the show which gave it some chart success there.
Members bellcurve
I can't think of any soap on the globe that looks/feels more dated than DAYS. In every area of production. While B&B definitely has its flaws, it's definitely not as 80's as DAYS.
Members Sindacco
Ugh, I hate stuff like that. I don't remember if it was Days or B&B but when I was in Paris I saw a couple of scenes at the hotel room in the morning and they not only dubbed the show, they also changed the intro to something completely different.
Members Sylph
True. But I just love Italian B&B opening! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVs82xph86s
Members bellcurve
I love the French and Italian themes for B&B. Especially the Italian one. So 80's. It really suits the show. ETA: The only thing I'd change about the new main titles for the Italian titles is getting rid of that dreadful logo and replacing it with the old one. That huge red "B" is such a turnoff. Members EricMontreal22
I believe they had a different dub for Quebecois france--we still get Y&R and B&B int he afternoons and B&B is called Top Models I believe (like that--in English as it's common slang...) I always see it in the tv listings and briefly wonder what show that is... Loving was big in France and Italy I know can't remember the name (Italy had AMC for a long time as Pine Valley though--well except whatever Pine Valley is in Italian)
