All: Which Character's Departure Was Most Disrespectful?

I'm going with Julia by a pinch, Brooke just went away and it was as if she never even existed. Nothing. Nothing.

I second that! IMO they should have brought back Brooke instead of GhostDixie.

Ben Reade on Guiding Light. Tammy Winslow on Guiding Light. Rachel Miner's Michelle on GL. Maureen Bauer on GL. Sensing a pattern here? Shawn and Belle on Days (I hated them, but they could've at least had a scene of them sailing away or something). Any of JERk's firings.

I don't know what's worse...unaddressed absences like John, Ben and Jess on ATWT; getting your character killed off as lip service, like Grayson McCouch; or some horrible villification like Craig when TIIC run out of ideas.

I think they ALL suck.

GH - AJ, Robert Scorpio

AMC - Brooke

OLTL - Cassie

Y&R - Diane

B&B - Kristen

ATWT - Andy

Oh I forgot about the ouster of Diane Jenkins!!! That one pissed me off.

For me, Diane Jenkins left Genoa City the last time that Alex Donnelly was on. Susan Walters was a poor intimidation of a once intelligent, fierce, and captivating character. She could have been better as another character, but turning Diane into "that" was a huge bloody mistake.

In a sense I never did like the way they kinda just forgot about Sally Spectra on "The Bold & the Beautiful." Hell, the decimation of the Spectra's was pretty damn deplorable.

Yeah I wish they could've done something better with Sally. But Darlene Conley's health kinda stopped that.

I thought the second time that Macy was killed was a let down. Bobbie Eakes was on the show forever. True, she did get a big send off when she "died" the first time. But the second time was something off camera that was just mentioned.

Any of JERk's firings, indeed.

Oh, but at the time everyone was cheering. Wow! Abe got murdered! Maggie's dead -- isn't this great? Oh, look, poor Doug met his maker. Rah rah Days!

Thankfully everyone on this board came to their senses. And I apologize in advance to those I offended (lol) -- I still get so worked up about this G*&damn story that I need to calm down.

So I'll talk about other shows. Dixie's poisoned pancakes was pathetic. Ben's killing himself was disrespectful, especially because the story made no sense at all. John Dixon was an afterthought -- whatever happened to Dr. Ben anyway? And is Jessica anywhere around Oakdale?

This thread is GOOD! Keep it up.

^lol. i was cheering when abe and jack were killed. i was excited for a good storyline. they they took out my maggie and i was fed up.

tho, IMHO, the worst thing they ever could had done is bring them all back. (like- up tiltony i say this. then hey just went for shock value... oh and tony & maggie so shoulda had some sex on that island!)

Every old time character that was written out of GH in the last 10 years.

I forgot all how OLTL's Cassie was dumped after the Barbara Graham storyline...ugh!

And Dixie's was the most fun.

Poisoned pancakes...priceless!

Loved it.

I still watch it from time to time.

I should make a screencap of it.

I know, but even after Darlene's passing, I thought that the show should acknowledge Sally's passing on screen, rather than saying she just sailed off on some cruise.

I agree a lot of these were BAD send-offs.

But disrespectful, I think, HAS to be reserved for Brygmann and Barr. You just DON'T take a thirty year character and stop mentioning them.

Maureen on GL and Frankie on AW were AWFUL, don't get me wrong. And Bryce on ATWT and McClain on AMC were just lousy and ridiculous. But they got final episodes that are forever engraved in viewers' minds. Brygmann and Barr don't even have that.
