Members cuzIsaySo
Did Father Michael get a proper send-off? I just realize now how many characters were written out with so little fanfare its like they were here today gone tomorow in most cases Did Nick Hartley or Pearl get proper exit storyline?
Members amybrickwallace
I think all of those characters just vanished with no explanation.
Members cuzIsaySo
Thanks amybrickwallace. Thats how i remember it but i was like 10 when it all played out. Did Nick Hartley and Jeffrey Conrad fought over Kelly or was the actor who played Nick already gone by the time the show paired Kelly with Mason's half-brother? I always thought Kelly was far better with Dylan in terms of chemistry (what the show did with it is criminal if you ask me) but I also liked her with Nick. Jeffrey was a nice fit but I dont get why Nick and Kelly didnt work out after the Dylan debacle.
Members amybrickwallace
No, Nick was already long gone before Jeffrey came on the scene. I think Nick was last seen in the summer of 1986, and Jeffrey didn't appear until the very end of the year.
Members sungrey
Sad news for those of us that remember the Father Michael/Sister Sarah story... Phyllis Frelich passed away on Thursday at the age of 70. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/phyllis-frelich-dead-children-a-695449
Members DRW50
Sad to hear this. I've only seen a little of her work but she seemed very talented. There's an SOD interview with her on page 7. http://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/25460-santa-barbara-discussion-thread/page-7#entry894767 http://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/25460-santa-barbara-discussion-thread/page-7#entry894777

Members amybrickwallace
Someone put together a nice tribute video to Dane Witherspoon as Joe Perkins: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuFG6iAfqc4
Members amybrickwallace
This is from the end of 2012, but I just found it. Here is Valorie Armstrong (Marisa Perkins, 1984-85) in a play called Mourning Glory: http://www.berkshirefinearts.com/12-16-2012_dezart-performs-play-reading-series.htm

Members amybrickwallace
Thanks for posting that - but it just didn't seem like the same show by the end. Not just because so many familiar faces (most notably, Walker and Martinez) had already jumped ship but because the focus had shifted significantly away from the Capwells and Lockridge families. It sure would have been nice had some of the beloved familiar faces come back for the end.
Members sungrey
Amy, truer words were never spoken. I was a faithful fan from beginning to end, but by summer 1992 it was definitely a different show. It was starting to put the Capwells and Lockridges in the background, and that's when I kind of suspected the end was near.
Members amybrickwallace
I watched a 1992 episode on YT and was like, "Who are all these people"? SB had definitely lost what had made it unique in the first place.
Members DRW50
What did people think about this Santana? She seems a little old to me. Please register in order to view this content
Members amybrickwallace
I never bought her as Santana. Why they didn't keep Ava Lazar around in the first place is a mystery.
