March 7, 200818 yr Member I say Laura Koffman, she has that innocent look that MB has. I still think they should wait at least 3 months before they recast.
March 7, 200818 yr Member im so happy. i was starting to think i was the only person who didnt think MB was the best actress ever. You guys are definitively not the only people with that opinion. I'm sure MB is a nice woman and all that, and yes she's been with the show for a looong time. But I don't find her acting spectacular or anything like that. It's horrible the way TPTB treated her(!! ), and we already know 90% on this board believes that this role can not be recasted. But since this thread is about who people could see in the role as Lily let's just stick to that. I would love for Julianne Morris to come back to daytime, and I think she could pull if of as Lily. Julie Pinson would rock as any character(!), and it would be nice for her to move to NY since Billy works there. Don't really have anyone else in mind, will have to think about that. Whoever they choose I hope it's a good recast. Edited March 7, 200818 yr by Cheyenne
March 7, 200818 yr Author Member Everyone has given some great responses and even though someone said before recasting Lily, would be like recasting Erica Kane....the role of Lily has been recast before. Twice actually. MB was a recast Lily. Lucy Deakins was the original Lily, followed by Heather Rattaray and then MB. I think it could work with the right actress.
March 7, 200818 yr Member Jean Passanante. It's time that she was forced to see how damn near impossible it is to act out the crap she writes.
March 7, 200818 yr Member MB was a recast Lily. Lucy Deakins was the original Lily, followed by Heather Rattaray and then MB. Martha Byrne was on before Heather Rattray. It goes Lucy, Martha, Heather, Martha. Just sayin.
March 7, 200818 yr Member I think this role will be recast easily. MB was nothing special, except for the fact that she's been in the role for 20 years. The character has been bland for years. I think some fresh blood can only do the show some good. The fact that she's been in the role for 20 years tell you this role can't be recasted easily. How would fresh blood do the role good if the crap writing is still there for the character?
March 7, 200818 yr Member What ever happened to Heather Rattray? I remember she was Lily there for awhile, but I forgot what she looks like or what she's even doing. I doubt they will ask her. I am not sure if Heather would be interested in returning. There are a lot of good suggestions. But ATWT wants someone BIG in the role.
March 7, 200818 yr Member Marcy walker?Ohh gosh, no!Both Julies are too young, and frankly Julianne is not good enough.Actually no. Julianne is one year older then Martha, and Julie is two years older then MB. Edited March 7, 200818 yr by Cheyenne
March 7, 200818 yr Member Tricia Cast would make a fine Lily recast. If Y&R is too stupid to ask her to come back as Nina, ATWT should give her a call. Cast, though she lives in Nashville has always been open to coming back to tape Y&R in LA, but NYC would be a faster commute for her from Nashville.
March 7, 200818 yr Member Any recast of Lily is most likely going to flop, personally I wouldn't wish that on any actor. Like her or not Martha was a big part of this show, and can't be easily replaced and shouldn't be either IMO

Like her or not Martha was a big part of this show, and can't be easily replaced and shouldn't be either IMO I agree, but if they recast which looks to be the case, they need to find someone at least somewhat talented. I really don't see this recast lasting too long. They're most likely doing it to spite Martha...
March 8, 200818 yr Member they should recast with an awful actress for a month then bring in a good actress.
