No, what I see were people stating THEIR OPINIONS on a particular show that THEY TOO WATCH, which is different froms his. He's the one who ends up attacking them for their opinions....

Just because we all watch certain shows, that doesn't mean we all have to share the same view of them....

The same thing happens with the other shows in this thread, but somehow I never see a war started over the other 7 shows, can you explain to me why that happens?

No the same thing does not happen.

What happens is that the majority of the shows either

1) Stay the same in terms of ratings

2) Fall .1 or .2

BUT the heading of the thread is suddenly changed to..."OMG GH feel catastrophically...ABC in the dumps! Mass Panic begin..." 1, 2, or heck even 3 people make some remark about how pathetic GH is (even though its not when compared the ratings with the rest of the soaps and especially in the important demographics) and then certain people respond.

Thereby singling out one soap when its pretty much common knowledge that all soaps have fallen in the ratings. And GH is still one of the top rated shows out there as well as one of the best in terms of quality (thats a personal opinion and I understand that you don't have to agree with me).

Hopefully that won't happen this time around. And like I said people are addicted to the fighting about stuff like this....and by you even bringing him up in this thread (not by name of course but still everyone knew who you meant) just shows that you're already prepping for the war you claim you don't want to happen.

Anyways I just want GH to stay steady or go up. I watched Days yesterday and it was OK. But probably only cuz it was so dramatic what with Grandpa Shawn dead and all.

Aren't Martha Madison and Brandon Beemer leaving? Whats their last airdate?

Have to respectfully disagree. The quality of GH is awful. Phelps has no more of a clue than Guza did and I suspect their ratings will continue to decline disproportionately to other soap operas. I've been wrong before and may be wrong about their ratings now but the poor quality is obvious to most.

Keyword being respectfully and since you said that (as opposed to a lot of others) I can totally understand your POV and agree to disagree.

Some get GH. Some don't.

Some love it. Some hate it. Which is fine with me. It just seems a lil unfair to attack it for no reason and continue the constant crying/whining about a show that you clearly hate yet will not change most likely.

So in order to disagree with you we have to state that we respectfully disagree with you.

I don't see GH gaining much of anything this sweeps period. They aren't doing their normal show boat routine during sweeps instead are focusing on gun violence which is tuning a lot of people out.

    • My god the smirking was back in full force today. He almost started smiling after Johnny mentioned he wouldn’t be there if EJ hadn’t raped Sami. I will say I did like seeing him with Dee as they’ve always had great chemistry.    They really are giving a lot of false hope with John getting better. I wish they hadn’t done that. Monday is going to be devastating. I really liked all the characters mixing and mingling today.  Nu-Rachel is still too sweet for me. Loved all the flashbacks. Everyone looked so young. Really enjoyed Brady’s scenes with John today.
    • Valerie Mahaffey Dead: ‘Northern Exposure,’ ‘Dead to Me’ Actress Was 71 Loved her. I've never seen her Doctors work.
    • Valerie Mahaffey Dead: ‘Northern Exposure,’ ‘Dead to Me’ Actress Was 71 I just loved Valerie on my early '90s TV shows. This one gets me.
    • I assume they did at some point during the finale...
    • Kelly was a horribly-written character overall. Just think, two Emmy-winning actresses (including Cynthia Watros, Nina, GH, and Annie, GL) couldn't make it work. Pamela is campy, but so are Dani, Vanessa, Leslie, and Joey. And, I don't want to be too judgy because my love for camp changes depending on the show. OLTL, DAYS, and some eras of GH had me rolling with the camp. However, Passions was overkill and I hated it. And, here, I can take it or leave it. It's ok in small doses (note to RC). I see this show as more of a serious drama.
    • I think one of the reasons that pilot didn't get picked up was because Vicki L was associated more with being Thelma Harper and playing older then she was playing her own age.  It was a blessing it didn't get picked up, or we would have been deprived of the syndicated era of Mama's Family.   Also, worth noting a Pre Night Court Marsha Warfield and pre Perfect Strangers Rebecca Arthur in the cast.  All talented women, but stuck with a bad script. And the other pilot had a pre Fran Fine.. Fran Drescher as the best friend.  I think that pilot might have been picked up if Karen Valentine and Fran Drescher switched roles.
    • So, on rewatch....did Rick and Mindy never have sex?
    • Cady had a fairly posh accent or manner as Rosanna - the character was a 180 from Dixie when she went to ATWT, and it was a huge success initially. As someone mostly only familiar with the nagging, miserable or clueless Dixie of the mid-late '90s and early 2000s it was what convinced me Cady could act. I thought she was incredible in her first run. Later, in future stints, her hair and story and performances were all over the place but a lot of that was down to the show for me. She brought some of Rosanna back with her to Dixie in her ill-fated return and a lot of people didn't like it, which I understood but I did think the character needed some change. I think she's had a little bit of the same persona and arch performance in every role she's played since, including Jennifer Horton at DAYS or Kelly at Y&R, who later became a maniac and was easily the worst work I've ever seen Cady do. It has kind of infected her overall mannerisms, I'll allow that, but I do think she brought Dixie back together as herself while still evolving the character when she returned to AMC again in 2012-13. Nonetheless, for me the upshot is that this is a character where Cady's kookier recent performance style suits the role. But I can understand it grating for people.
    • Yeah, Loretta Swit's passing stings. My late dad LOVED the show (he died last November) and watched it religiously. In first run and repeats.  And I was literally born the day after the show's premiere, so I grew up with it! I know many loved later, softer Margaret, but I loved Early Hot Lips. In real life, I'm all for less misogyny, but to me, the early years of M*A*S*H were just funnier. May Loretta Swit rest in peace. Thanks for all the memories connected to my dad!
