Members Ryan Chamberlain
. OMG. That sounds delicious. Even though I have a 'texture' issue with mussels. I had stir-fry with chicken.
Members alphanguy74
I've never eaten mussels... I figure since I despise oysters, I probably wouldn't like mussels. Edited December 11, 2012 by alphanguy74
Members SFK
You might like them. They are firmer and not at all "slimey" like oysters can be. The texture/bite is sort of like a large bean/legume, but a briney, meaty taste. You can get frozen packaged mussels in red or white sauce at the grocery store for less than five bucks. You heat them in a skillet for about 6 min. and they're done.
Members alphanguy74
Seafood can be so sensitive to preparation. I had scallops at Red Lobster once when I was in high school, and they were rubbery as hell. Then a few year later, a date took me to pretty much the most expensive seafood restaurant in town, and WOW what a difference. I was totally impressed, and it takes alot for a restaurant to impress me. I remember I thought the 30$ each for our meals was a FORTUNE (this was like 1989) I guess today that doesn't seem like much! Members Ryan Chamberlain
Last night I made shrimp with brussel sprouts on the side. And, it was great. I think tonight I'm going to make spaghetti with Vodka sauce.
Members Ryan Chamberlain
I went out. My last night of eating solid food for at least 2/3 days. So, I decided to hit up the local Mexican restaurant. I had chimichangas (the little skinny ones that taste better than the fat ones...) in chicken and beef. And, a margarita.
