It was a good show. Just simply done but nice. Too bad tomorrow's show looks bad. I know PJ will hate me for this but I am getting sick of Jack/Carly/Parker/Sam story. I am just bored with them.

If she had done that more a few years ago, maybe he wouldn't have knocked up Gwen or developed a taste for gambling and theft. I thought Margo was adorable today, and I'm loving Ellen Dolan's balance between a professional authoritarian and heir to the Hughes matriarchy.

Carly's jinxed life is the biggest bore. If you weren't over it before the ventriloquist came along, your stomach is strong enough to withstand Drano. Maura West simply cannot sell it anymore, and I'd rather see her gone over Scott Bryce at this point.

How convenient that Kim ran into excuses why Nancy and Lisa were too busy to receive news of Bob's awakening. It's asking for the moon to get the whole damn Hughes family together in one episode. Maybe TPTB think indulging us will result in campaigns to get Julianne Moore back.

Babe...I could never hate you. :D I know it's not a great story...but for me, it's more interesting than anything presently running.

The time to smack him upside the head is over. (And it's really Adam she should be smacking...Casey is taking the rap for his brother here. Everyone dropped the other charges, the only one Casey couldn't wriggle out of is planting the bond at Will's, which Adam actually did.) No doubt Casey got smacked around like that in prison, and here Mom is doing the same thing. Did you see that look he gave her?

And Margo is no Kim Hughes.

Maura West is one of daytime's truest talents. She's grown and grown over the years. She's only doing the best that she can with the material she's been given. If you want someone to gripe to, gripe to Jean and Chris. Horribly written story is no fault of the actors. And horribly written story also doesn't justify bashing an actor.

Is "87" a reference to your birth year? I don't need a lesson on actor bashing from you. As I said, Maura West can no longer sell the crap that she's being told to peddle. That makes Carly a completely ineffective character, because the only stories she'll ever have are about disastrous situations of her own design. Scott Bryce obviously transcends the writers' shortcomings, but if he wasn't I'd be fine without him or Craig. At this point in my viewership of this or any other soap, I'm tired of seeing actors either languishing in the background or overexposed in mediocre stories. Regardless of who's at fault, I'm done with seeing the lame end results. I don't care how much I like Maura West, she's wasting the viewer's time propping up Goutman and Passanante's aimless agenda, as most of the other actors are. If that meant reducing ATWT to just 5 characters who would get worthwhile stories, so be it. With all of the slings and arrows I've hurled at Roger Howarth, NOW I'm being called out for actor bashing?

Roll your eyes all you want.

So effing what if 87 is my birth year? Who seriously cares? Or are you going to argue that I'm too young to realize how great of a soap ATWT used to be? News flash. I caught that memo.

But it's changed now.

And how in the hell is Maura propping their aimless agenda? And what is that agenda? And do you REALLY think that actors have ANY say in how they're written?????????? NO! They don't.

So don't sit there and derogatorize an actress simply because her storyline sucks.

And if you're ...........

..............then sign another petition that's never going to catch on, go to New York and take up life as a scab writer, quit watching, or suck it up.

Not trying to be mean, but I've been around here (and most of the other ATWT viewers in this thread) for a really long time. And by now, we understand the rules. No actor bashing is one of them. It's one I've always advocated. And it's one I expect fellow discussion takers to adhere to.

Expect all you want, because your advocacy is pretty inconsistent, as I stated. Don't continue to imply that I bashed Maura West, either. If you're worried about being assessed on the basis of your age, don't assign your own attributes to a point of view that can only be interpreted in the way it was intended to be. It was cute at first, but you're going out of your way to antagonize me in a manner you never had the gall to before, and it's pissing me off. Who the hell said I had to answer to you?

No one. And I mean no harm. I am simply saying that it is a rule at SON not to bash actors and it's a rule that I agree completely with. I did not mean to antagonize and if you truly feel that's what I was doing, I apologize for the misunderstanding. I am simply stating a fact and trying to adhere to the rules. I would like others to do the same as well.

I, for one, adore Maura West as an actress; and while I realize she's doing the best she can with the material she's being given, the fact of the matter is, an actor is only as good as his material, regardless of the level of his, or her, abilities.

You (okay, I) can root for someone like Carly Tenney Snyder, in spite of her selfish and self-destructive tendencies, for only so long; then, she begins to look like an utter fool to me. Frankly, I reached that point w/ her a long time ago.

    • I would DIE if Shanice’s mom lived beyond the gates and was just as messy I loved her so much. Give. Me. More. Absolutely loved this scene. Looking forward to more bonding between them. She is such a find. If her agents are smart, they’re booking her on bigger things as soon as possible. I want to see her blow up. She is THAT good to me. Ambyr and Trisha are the stars of this show for me and why I watch. Bingo. This show actually feeling like a soap that moves has made it so hard for me to watch the others anymore. I love you Thank god you said this. I wish we’d stop taking the bait but this needed to be said. White male leads cheat ALLLLLLLL the time. But this poster seems to think omg two black men that cheated decades apart are about to set us back somehow. I’m about to add them to the ignore list with Donna, I’m sick of the baiting. This was perfectly stated. Preach my friend, preach. As for yesterday’s episode I loved it. The show is handling the fall out from the Eva reveal so damn well for me. And I LOVED that Ted final scene holding Eva’s hand. I guess I’m in the minority since the recast announcement was made but I will miss Maurice and his chemistry with all of his costars as Ted and really wish he could’ve played the entire fall out of the story.
    • I would love to see it as part of a backlot shopping district where characters can bump into one another in a more natural way. Lately there has too much getting up and leaving then coming back during meals at Orphey's and Uptown. It's becoming a distraction. There could be shops, more restaurants and a coworking space. All of the "you will never be a Dupree" lines definitely are pointing to this. This is one of my favorite stories. I love stories about show business and MVJ has a background in the music industry so I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes. Anita instigated the breakup - we have already seen her mean streak come out with Hannah and Eva. I expect one member (she called Sharon today) to be holding a grudge and another member (Tracy) to be somewhat bitter but more open to the idea of a tour, playing the role of peacemaker between Anita and Sharon. Maybe Sharon will pull a Mary Wilson and write tell-all about Anita.

    • I would have been more impressed if it hadn't been built on a con (Sonny's meds already being used to make sure he would be exonerated later on). The show has been doing this dance with Sonny since the mid '90s, including Mulcahey's previous stint. I almost prefer them just being honest, as Laura doesn't have a great deal of integrity to lose anyway. The problem is Sonny is just completely spent as a character. If he wasn't, we wouldn't have to see this comment from Laura again and again. He would actually be doing something on the canvas. Instead, he's written like he's already dead. If only.
    • It seems like Steve actually enjoys scenes with Jane.  I really think Steve has just mellowed out in general and is more open to doing what is asked.  He's not 30 anymore so he's probably just happy to keep getting work especially after the whole Covid situation. If he ended up with Brenda I wouldn't complain either lol. You probably won't get that 10% out of me, but I may consider if you drop the Jordan love haha!
    • I'm sticking to my theory that June is Hayley's sister (maybe a cousin since this show showcases cousins). Hayley really needs someone else to interact with because her being isolated to just Bill is not working. Eva only seems to have a backbone when it comes to Kat. She had no problem rubbing it in her face that they are sisters. Sharon hanging up on Anita was a good little nudge for that storyline. At least one of them having a name is promising to them actually showing up.
    • Reviewing the 1985/86 sophomore slaughtering and sophomore surprise. The Cosby Show 23 of 25 episodes finished #1 in their original broadcast, one episode finished 2nd, and one episode finished 3rd. Murder, She Wrote 18 of 22 episodes were the highest-rated drama in their original broadcast and 19 of 22 episodes were CBS's highest-rated scripted series in their original broadcast.
    • I really enjoy Tracy and Jason together as well in scenes. I’m a sucker for the surviving older Quartermaines, it’s just crazy that it took this long for a producer to tell Steve Burton we don’t care what you want, you’re a Quartermaine, get the [!@#$%^&*] over it. Murders actually solved in Port Charles? Hell no. The people in town don’t care so we’re not supposed to. God if they did this to usher Sonny off it would be the best episode of GH I’ve ever seen. I’d never complain again. I will never stop trying to get that 10% out of you It was so so good. There was so much promise. New old writers came back in and immediately said f.uck that, Sonny is a hero. You are not alone when it comes to Harper as Jordan. It’s a lonely island of 2 but you’re not alone. I enjoy her and especially with the new doctor.   Most of his time on this damn show has just been him in a hospital bed over a football injury we never even saw happen .
    • The casting of Reginald seemed to have been part of the reason for a lack of exploration of vulnerability in the character. I know Mary talked about not liking the change in Reg, but her disappointment was rarely explored once she left him.  For example, did she ever question if Reg was conning her in Paraguay, or was the Bay City version of Reg real? Imagine running a philanthropic center in Paraguay, and then becoming a social worker in Bay City?  It must have been so frustrating to once be able to provide anything that anyone needed, and now having to rely on government funded programs. And lastly, she went from a house full of servants, to living over a restaurant.  We were supposed to believe that she was so blinded by her love for Vince and the kids, that she never longed for her life when someone else washed her lingerie?
    • This was an excellent "filler" episode but I'd prefer to refer to it as a character building episode. I love that BTG is paced in a way that they can have episodes like this as opposed to the repetitive nature of the other soaps which don't leave room for this. The highlight for me was Eva with Martin's family. They've talked so much about her doing hair and I was so excited to finally get to see that in action. I thought the tension with Samantha was nice since she is a Dupree woman. I also love that Martin is trying to help Eva feel welcomed. I struggled a bit with Martin but he really shines when put across Eva, Kat and his grandparents. He definitely gets my vote for most improved. I also loved the scenes with Dani, Nicole and Andre. I love that Nicole clocked them so easily lol. I know many haven't enjoyed how Dani has acted since the Ted/Eva reveal but I find it so heartwarming watching her with Nicole. They clearly have a deep love for each other despite their differences and I love that Dani still tries even though her approach isn't always great and her whole life is a mess. Nicole/Dani is another one of the star pairs on the show. Anita and Vernon's scenes were excellent and the more I see of this story, the more I can't wait for the Articulettes to show up. I wonder if they've already been quietly cast and are filming. Not that I'm complaining, but the set is like Fort Knox so we really have no clue what is going on there. I can only hope we will see them soon. I also must say, Tamara Tunie looked stunning today.  The Jacob/Naomi scenes were another highlight. I like the working class vibe they give to the show. I'm also becoming intrigued about June and want to know more about how she ended up on the streets and who she's connected to. I hope it's Haley because she's in dire need of some backstory and development. The weak point of the episode were the Bill and Haley scenes. How are you going to have them having sex on his desk and we couldn't see a little bra or shirtless action from Bill? That was tired and a waste of time. They need to work on integrating them more with the rest of the canvas. I do not care about them anymore.
