Great show on Friday. JESSE'S BACK!!

First of all I love how Opal has been making more appearances lately. It's so nice seeing backburned characters making small appearances every day or so. The scene with her bringing the picture of A/J to Frankie was such a nice touch.

Ahh It's so nice having Rebecca back.

I now officially do not like Amanda Baker as Babe. She's so dull and does not bring the same energy to the role that Alexa did.

The new hospital set looks so awesome. It's sleek and modern and the lighting crew did a great job with it.

I watched a couple episodes this week because of Angie -- Hubbard that is, not the Zen Fan :P -- and I have to admit, Rebecca has been doing a good job. She's paying respect to the work Sabine did by doing her best to commit to the Aidan pairing and the Zach friendship -- It's just too bad Aiden Turner has no charisma. I was all set to hate Becky's Greenlee thanks to the tasteless Sabine/Real Greenlee scandal, but Rebecca's been low key and not in your face like "Yeah, bitch! I'm back and taking this character into a complete 180 direction! HA!" which is what I thought she would do.

But I think certain "hate" has nothing to do with Becky or the Real Greenlee ads -- it has to do with the fact that we're still stuck in July and view Greenlee as... what is it that we hear every third post? A Baby Maiming Bitch, is it? Yeah. I think that's where the hate's stemming from.

I totally agree with you. It's either that or people have just dislike the character (pre-Sabine), which is perfectly fine. But If anyone is seriously holding a grudge against Rebecca or Greenlee because of the way Rebecca's return was promoted, then IMO that is a pretty lame reasoning. But that's already been discussed.

I was not a fan of AMC during Jesse & Angie's heyday, but I think they are going to be great for the show now. As for Colin's Josh, he's the reason I started watching AMC regularly. I met him last December and he made me an even bigger fan. Hopefully they pair Josh with Julia. I love Sydney Penny too.

The hospital scenes, *shudders* Totally SabineLee there....so much for the REAL Greenlee

Oh please don't presume to say people hold "grudges" or anything.

Oh yep that's where it's coming from ::sarcasm::

And you know what? If I choose to continue to call her that, then I will. Just like people STILL call Babe a kidnapper, Tad a murderer/torturer and Josh an unaborted fetus

But at least Babe's crimes weren't completely whitewashed and rewritten to fit the recast(or a returning actress).......

It's MY perrogative if I dislike Rebecca, and that has to do with herself and nothing to do with Sabine or anyone. I don't care much for Alexa Havins either.......

WORD!

I'll go on the record as saying I suspect the "Crash" rewrite was a direct result of 1) ABCD's luring back RB, and 2) AMC's desire to pretend Sabine's tenure on the show, regardless of whether or not she had acquired any fans, had never happened. If Spike was going deaf anyway, then what was the point of the accident? Again, seems to me B&E might've had some plans for how the crash would've affected all those concerned (say what you will about them, but B&E do, for the most part, pay-off their stories) but all the backstage changes forced the two to scrap them.

No proof, mind you - except, the timing of the two (the rewrite, and the news of RB's return) seemed a little too coincidental for me.

Also, do I hate Rebecca Budig? No, I hate Greenlee. There's a difference. One, I don't know Ms. Budig; and two, she's too bland as an actress for me to be get that riled up with her. Greenlee, OTOH, is sometimes written as if she's the next Erica, but (IMO) she's far too one-dimensional for that.

    • I agree.  How many times did we have to watch Bobby vs. J.R., or Blake vs. Alexis, knowing that nothing would change at the end, and that everything would go back to status quo, so that they could fight the same, exhausting battles all over again?  If nothing else, I give FC and KL credit for trying to keep things fresh, even if I think FC, in particular, went too far in the other direction and became unrecognizable even to the most diehard fans. Exactly.  Plus, because viewers were so burned out by the kind of serialized storytelling that was beginning to affect even half-hour comedies, I think MSW represented a nice change of pace.  You didn't have to watch every week, or watch from the beginning of each season, to know what was going on with Miss Fletcher.  Instead, you could watch a complete story in one episode, de-stress from whatever had happened in your own life last week, gear yourself up for the week ahead, and be okay. If you notice, though, there were differences between those two shows and what Aaron Spelling had produced in the past.  For one thing, there was a greater emphasis on youth; and while characters on 90210 and MP certainly had more disposable incomes than the average viewer, their wealth wasn't as opulent as what we'd seen on DYNASTY or on "Hart to Hart."  Even the battles among Alison, Amanda, Billy and others at that advertising agency weren't as histrionic as those between Denver Carrington and ColbyCo.
    • I saw a conversation yesterday with Liam with the 7 dwarves hat and Steffy -  I know she did not say re: Hope and Liam said - well look at Finn and you forgave him right?      I know I did not hear Steffy say “well but you can’t compare that to…”  For *uck sake someone call the bitch out!?     You’re right, we shouldn’t compare your forgiveness for the dude with devil spawn seed whose daughter locked you in a cage along with crazy stepmom/mom/Grandmother who has also SHOT YOU BOTH - and multiple murder attempts but you have to exist with them / Hope’s part in a takeover which you know was FAR LESS THAN CARTER BECAUSE HOPE IS NOT AN ATTORNEY…. Goodness no, no the same thing at alllllllll.   When they do Steffy’s absence at least let it be because they all find out what a manipulative ho she is in her own right.
    • I think a lot of us still agree with that. I do hope that the resurgence in the soap world with Beyond the Gates will push ABC to either bring back these shows or produce a newer one.
    • So, this was fun. Elsewhere, friendly to polls, a poll on what do you want to see at the Nurses Ball. The Gio reveal got 18%, for Blaze to return & sing also got 18%, for Jennifer Hudson to do a cameo & sing got 10% and for Lucy to lose various parts of clothing got 9% but the huge one was the reveal of Drew/Nina sex which got a whopping 45%!
    •   I liked the effect of the curtains closing. Yeah it was like the end of Act I.   Or maybe they are simply trying to emphasize the drama of the end of an episode -- instead of a random abrupt end that has happened in some prior episodes.
    • I posted this in the behind the scenes thread but I know this thread is busier so wanted to mention it here as well. During their instagram live yesterday, Daphnee Duplaix and Trisha Mann-Grant mentioned that they will find out this month if the show is renewed for another season. Just a heads up so we can keep an eye out for an announcement and keep our fingers crossed for a multi-year renewal!
    • They haven't explained the ownership of the Bistro, but Doug told Holly the other day he didn't get the job there. Basically Roman just hired Doug on the spot and gave him a room.  It was really nice of Roman.  I don't know if he knows who Doug is or that he stole Julie's necklace.  That was unclear-at least to me. ETA-I feel like the Bistro might just die and people will just pretend to order food there like Leo did today.  Sophia is on bed rest so no one works there anymore.  They can use that set for something else.
    • I'm not sure how I felt about it, but I do kind of like that it felt like the show telling us this concludes the first chapter of the series. Could be interesting if they only do it for big aftermath episodes. The biggest mistake with Martin is that it's almost hard to buy his anger because we've gotten no strong scenes with him and his parents. They've all been with Anita/Vernon. I can't even remember him ever even saying one word to Nicole, even in passing.
    •   Thank you! Agreed on both posts. And the comments about Mike Manning are nonsense.
