Wow!

Maurice's (Sonny) contract is up this summer and he isn't sure how negotiations will turn out. He says he's having fun, but he's in the middle of a lot of things - personally and professionally. 15 years in the same role and it takes a toll.

He was not happy about not having an Emmy nod for his bipolar disorder storyline - he said it was a slap in the face.

GH - Sarah Brown is back the 31st playing Claudia - Johnny's half sister. She was sent away when she was 16 to live in Italy - a pretty tough broad. Anthony Geary (Luke) back the same day.

OLTL spoiler - Todd and Blair have sex and Blair will struggle with being Sam's mom.

Robin Strasser (Dorian) contract extended through Febuary 2009.

AMC -

Ryan doesn't remember Annie this week. He wakes up one morning and doesn't remember Annie - He only remembers from a time when he was engaged to Kendall.

"He sees Kendall and one look at her brings back all of his feelings for her."

Bring on Rendall!! OMG!

Cry me a frigging river, why don't you!? You want to talk "slap in the face"? Beverlee McKinsey played two of daytime's most memorable ladies (AW's Iris Carrington, and GL's Alexandra Spaulding) to the hilt, and she never won an Emmy. If you ask me, that should be a federal crime.

Does this mean the trip to Africa is off? Shoot. I was looking forward to that. ;)

I have a question because I have not watched GH full time for over ten years (I tuned back in during 2002 to see if BrenDUH's return would be interesting. Alas it was not so I tuned back out)....but didn't they have Sonny roll in the hay with Carly and that "cured" his bipolar disorder? I know that Guza did not address it well (when does he EVER do social issue stories well? This is the same guy who wrote Sam as saying that, for Emily to get over Connor's rape, she should boink Nicolas. Such a smart message to send )

Leave it to Guza to make a mockery out of real serious issues

But about MB and the Emmy....I would rather win an Emmy based on acting well rather than over a real life condition. I mean, I have suffered from a mood disorder for over six years but would not just expect an Emmy win just because I was depressed or now since I have PTSD.

Susan Lucci's had some work done? I'm shocked. [/sarcasm]

Liz's rape was handled sensitively...but I tend to think that one was more Michele Val Jean's doing.

(For the love of God, AMC, why won't you hire her to be your new HW? Especially now that Angie and Jesse are back?)

    • If NBC could have for seen the ratings of Lovers & Friends (the replacement for Somerset).. they would have for sure kept Somerset on the air longer. https://jason47.com/days/ratings1976.html  (ratings for Somerset in the final year) https://jason47.com/days/ratings1977.html (ratings for Lovers & Friends short run...getting as low as a 2 rating).

    • I liked them, too, and was really disappointed it never went anywhere. The whole art theft story was ridiculous, but they had a nice chemistry. Certainly nicer than Alan with Christine. With her, he looked like the funny uncle. The worst thing they did to Bolger, IMO, was having Phillip write that DREADFUL novel and dramatizing it while he wrote it. GAG, that has to be in the running for one of their worst storylines that didn't involve wacky things like clones or time travel. Soaps rarely do school storylines, or don't do them for very long. Not the case so much in the early days of soaps, but after GH took off in the late 70s other soaps took their lead and would catapult teens/young adults into adult stories right away. That's one reason Phillip and Mindy ended up with so many ex-spouses--they started getting married really young. They shipped Dina and Cameron off really fast after high school and stuck Alan Michael in a marriage storyline with Harley. Did he EVER go to college? I don't think so. It may also partly explain why Quint and Annabelle had to go, beyond TPTB wanting to do a cast sweep. Teaching is not a profession that plays well on a soap. Quint definitely had to quit being Indiana Jones, because that wore thin really fast, but they didn't do him favors by making him a professor. If they wanted to keep him, they should have done what they did with Amanda (who was in another dead-end soap job, concert pianist)--have him work at Spaulding as one of the major stockholders.
    • Judith McConnell (Augusta) and Denise Alexander (Lesley) were great screen partners on GH.  They got into some stellar arguments in character in the medicine room.
    • He also commented that Brad knows that fans are sick of the constant fake deaths on this show: Finn, Sheila, etc and that it's hard to take this seriously if it's another fake death

    • I just don't think Brad Bell has it in him to actually kill off Liam. He should have killed off Eric when he had the chance. I know John McCook is an original cast member, but Eric is even more useless than Liam. Eric should have died and then it would be revealed that he died without a valid will, so Donna, as his wife, inherits everything, including his shares in Forrester Creations.
    • I think we all will, isn't that how soaps work? lol
    • ^^ I'll believe it when it actually happens.
