I doubt Guza will be gone for long, he seems pretty safe as long Frons in charge. I think the only way he would leave would be his own decision and like that would happen, where else would he go?

He can go work with his BFF, Charles Pratt Jr, to try and get a primetime show!

The way you posted that made it look like he was gone. Period.

Don't get us excited like that, dude.

LOL Sorry.

I agree, he left during his first GH stint to create and establish Sunset Beach. He left during his second stint because he hated Wendy Riche and she hated him. Since he hasn't created anything new and Jill and Frons share his crappy vision, he'll be coming back after the strike.

I haven't noticed anything different about today's GH thus far, unlike Y&R which soared when it's hack was no longer credited.

Toupsy, any word on who will be the Interim Head Writer for Days or the P&G soaps yet?

Still clueless about the P&G soaps.

As for DAYS, there's 3 Fi-Core writers that I know of, and two of them are steering the ship.

GH

- Robert Guza Jr. last listed as Head Writer & Consulting Producer on January 3

- Michael Conforti last listed as Associate Head Writer on January 3

- Dave Goldschmid last listed as Associate Head Writer on January 3

- Elizabeth Korte last listed as Associate Head/Script Editor on January 3

- Garin Wolf last listed as Associate Head Writer on January 3

- Garin Wolf first listed as Interim Head Writer on January 4

Excuse me for being a little slow but what does all this mean? I mean if Guza isn't listed as HW or CP does this truly mean anything being there is a writer's strike going on?

In other words, when can we pop the champagne?????

Nope. It means that the Fi-Core writers are writing the show temporarily until the strike ends, in which case Guza and his crew will return, barring any force majeur (sic) decisions by TPTB.

Why do some people like Garin Wolf go fi-core, Toups? Are they getting really sweet deals from TPTB to do so? Doesn't going fi-core mean you can't work after the strike ends?

Garin went on Fi-Core for personal reasons. From the LA Times Article:

"If some people weren't writing, we wouldn't have a show to come back to," said Tracey Thompson, a writer on "General Hospital." She said two of 10 writers on that show had returned "for personal reasons."

His storylines may still be airing but these episodes aren't being layed out by Guza. Guza's not determining what's going to happen week-to-week. Also, we might see changes in character, how they act, or the pacing can be faster/slower. We just have to wait and see how Garin Wolf writes for the show.

In other words, when can we pop the champagne?????

No not yet. When/if force majeure happens and Guza gets fired, then we can pop the champagne. :)

Paula Cwikly, a very capable writer it would seem, is one of the few writers who wasn't part of LML's group of putrid pals. She worked for Griffith at 'Sunset Beach' and for Sony at DAYS. I'm happy to see that the Latham era is (hopefully) officially over.

And bravo to Sally McDonald, she totally deserved the promotion and to promoted from within, the Y&R way is back! Also, Anthony Morina is married to Sally Sussman Morina who wrote for Y&R for many years so I'm not against his promotion. Besides, as Supervising Producer all he's doing is supervising all the other producers.

If force majeure is declared, would we even know about it immediately? Knowing the networks, they could keep their firings a secret until after the strike...

I can't wait until an official new Executive Producer is listed, that's when we know her ass is canned!.

Griffith really do much after he co-created Sunset. He was never listed as a writer or a consultant.

But yeah, Cwikly isn't a pal of LML's so that's good. :)

If the networks keep it to themselves, nobody will know, but if they actually tell the writer that they've been fired, word is going to leak throughout the industry...... ;)

I can see the networks firing some writers to maybe scare other writers to come back. :o
