If I had to pick someone other than those two? I would. Lucas & Sami have psychological issues. I don't know why they're together. They're better off as frienemies then they are lovey dovey. They really need to find someone new for her to get involved with....someone who didn't rape her and them claim he loves her.

Definitely Lucas! Kill EJ DiMera off once and for all. Also reveal that he's the one who had John killed.

This is about as bad as "Who Fathered Hope's Baby - Stefano or John?".

I'd say EJ every day of the week. I've always hated Lucas, but I've liked EJ.

And Brandon into the mix though, and I choose him over both.

I try not to pick which characters I think should stay on Days, but I do know who I like, and for me, there's nothing to think about. I'll go (anyday) with the one who has good looks, versatility, talent, the ability to convey emotions with expressions and body language as well as verbally, and is leading man material.

As in EJ/JS hands down.

He interacts well with every character on the show that he's shared scenes with and can hold his own with the likes of JM and TP. JS made EJ multi-layered even when Sheffer wrote him darker than dark, and he's a natural when it comes to being a charismatic romantic lead - plus he's excelled at everything in between.

The possible storylines for this character are only limited by the writers' imaginations because he can do it all.

Blindfold me and I'd pick EJ. Mute the tv and I'd pick EJ. Have EJ on the cover of a magazine and I'd buy it. Catch me switching channels and coming across Days while EJ is on and I'd be watching Days.

I could go for that too. Sami has never put herself first (I know it looks like it by the way she goes after things) but it has always been about a man. I would like to see her working at Basic Black (if it still exists)!

ICAM with everyone who would like to see Sami on her own and have her character developed and made more confident and independent. They had the perfect opportunity to do that after the (last) Austin non-wedding, but pushed lucas on her instead. It could have been a huge turning point for her and seeing her revert back to being needy and acquiescent never felt right.

And my answer of EJ wasn't who I'd like to see her with - even though if it was between the two it would be him. I took the question as which character is stronger on the show (as in one had to go -- which is why I didn't like the question).

I wouldn't have minded if they'd kept Belle single for that matter, but Days seems to think women have to be married to find self worth and that's not how it works...

You and I seem to be on the same wavelength. When I first read the question, it seemed to be a comparison between EJ/James and Lucas/Bryan...who should stay and who should go? I automatically wonder why either has to go...especially since there are only a handful of characters in that age range on the show. What I'm really finding interesting is how the question changed during the posts and became all about Sami...which one of these guys should be with her.
