I read on some other site incolving GH, how the fans hated when Shenait Ashenafi (Keesha Ward), was fired in 1998 after 4 years, and i was thinking what firing would you all call the worst, i say Suzanne Rogers and Peggy McCay, the worst.............

There have been a lot of boneheaded, stupid and mean firings over the years. A lot of vets were fired but at least they weren't involved in a major story for awhile and you could sort of see it coming. For me the worst was Cady McClain as Dixie. I waited almost two decades for Tad and Dixie to have a daughter together and then TIIC kill Dixie off before their daughter is found; the only child of a supercouple that has been popular since the 1980's. Before doing something so drastic, the LEAST they could have done was had Tad and Dixie reunite and find Kate and conclude the story a lot of fans waited almost 20 years to see. I have always considered myself an extremely loyal AMC viewer but I will NEVER forgive them for that. The show is dead to me.

Suzanne Rogers from Days. hands down. at that point everyone thought the murders were real and hey wouldnt be back. The only reason i have her above FR as Alice is because by that point i knew this all had to be some kinda twist. But with Suzanne... it was heartbreaking. I cried.

Dunno the actress' name, but Maureen Bauer from GL. I wasn't born yet but my mother tells me it sent shockwaves throughout the industry.

Frankie Frame on AW. Her brutal murder was the final nail in the show's coffin

Surprise surprise JFP was behind both firings.

Also worth mentioning: Frances Reid, Suzanne Rogers, Anna Lee, Stuart Damon, Michael Zaslow

Two come to mind:

The tasteless, classless and basically evil act of firing 90 year old Anna Lee from GH in 2004 courtest of Frons and JFP. Considering she'd been at the show since 1978 I would think a little bit of loyalty woudl have gone a long way.

Also, Suzanne Rogers at DAYS. That one blew me out of the water and I never saw it coming. Plus, I think Suzanne was really hurt by it. I'm just glad she was re-hired 6 months later and that she's been at DAYS ever since. Maggie Horton is classic!

    • @j swift @carolineg I was looking at some scenes on YT of Shelley's take on Stephanie.. and her 2007/2008 take on Stephanie was very spirited, bold, and confident.   I often think her ordeal in 2009 when she was kidnapped and kept in the morgue by that creepy guy probably did change her.. but I don't recall the show ever focusing on the after effects of such a traumatic event. In fact... her novel/manuscript should have been loosely based on that trauma in a fictionized account.  Maybe the rest of the manuscript will involve some of that.. but I doubt Ron C would ever think to include that event in a constructive way to explain the current behaviors/motivations of Stephanie.
    • All recast reasons aside I wouldn’t want to think about those first few years when Steffy and Bill were manipulating everything behind the scenes and the back and forth with Wyatt if I were Hope myself.

    • I'm always down for more Gio, and he did look good today. But let's not pass on the chance to appreciate Chase in those jeans. I mean, come on. That was some nice booty poppin' right there. Maddening. I'd dislike hearing any character being this ridiculous and overbearing, but I really hate it when it's a character I love, as I do Dante.

    • Lol, I enjoy classical music and I really think Gio is a talented musician.  I just don't know if it's the soundstage they are filming it on or what, but it sounds so screechy on TV.  I don't recall all his performances sounding like that. Rocco-"this was all my fault not Gio's or even Danny's.  No one made me drink.  I am being accountable". Dante-"Nope still 100% GIO's FAULT!!!" Just shut it Dante! Alexis and Lucky deserve more than having to protect Kristina's crazy butt. I like Cody and Lulu teaming up.  Finally someone is agreeing with Lulu.
    • After watching the performances tonight I can't understand why Finland and Malta are seen as some of the favourites. Finland's song is not one of the best this year and I maintain that Miriana Conte who represents Malta is a poor singer. My guess is that it's because of the controversial nature of both these songs. I'm not all that impressed with Austria either. But France on the other hand emerged as a big contender tonight. A beautiful song, a wonderful singer and fantastic staging. Greece also had a spectacular stage show which definitely enhanced their chances. I guess it's part nostalgia factor but I really want Luxembourg to go through to the final as well. I love the homage to France Gall and Laura Thorn sold the song very well. Much better than in the clip from the national final.
    • The older Ted was more unlikeable. The character came across warmer and mo sympathetic today whereas the older one portrayed him with a dark side. Thats why I said his scenes with Leslie will tell alot bc thats where he comes across the most like a villain and had me feeling bad for her at times
    • I completely agree @Soaplovers with your excellent comment.  And the bold, confident Stephanie we saw in her previous incarnations would be a much better match for Alex than the one trying to play house too soon. Let’s not forget: Alex came on the scene as a walking red flag with a gym membership—dodging commitment in love and work. And now he’s out here giving career advice? From a man whose last job was playing a soap star no one in Salem has even heard of? Sir. What I’d love is for Stephanie to be a genuine challenge for him—not someone who bends to his charm, but someone who knows she’s the prize. She’s a free agent in Salem: no ex-husband drama, no kid in tow, no awkward family entanglements. Let her be more like Kayla now—centered, respected, and not here for games—than Kayla was when she was falling off motorcycles with Steve. The next great Salem love story shouldn't be about chemistry alone. It should be earned—like Patch and Kayla, Shane and Kim, or even Bo and Hope on their best days. Give us slow burn, mutual respect, and a Stephanie who makes him level up.
    • It's looking like I may be in the minority, but nuTed is a major improvement to me. I agree, it will take a few days to get used to the higher pitched voice and smaller stature, but his acting is so much better. I can feel the emotions in his voice and face and it just feels more real and natural.  Kat was great today too, giving us the tears and her softer side. Loved Leslie/Bill - we need more of this!  Did y'all notice Leslie's snake necklace?? So creepy, but fitting for her haha. Tomorrow should be an updated intro with Keith, unless they repeat the second one for days until they get it updated.
