Well, actually Carly dying does and Jack feeling horrible for leaving her. It is going to be hard to maintain these numbers next week. Not much Nuke on at all and Lilden either. Just CarJack and boring triangle of Meg/Paul/Ro/Craig. You know why I hate it already.

Go ATWT!!!! Go GL!!!! Happy to see both my favs rise. Loving Nuke and I can't wait for My Edmund's return!!!!

I want to see OLTL overtake GH badly. It's been really good.

AMC is so bad. It's sad when u are watching the show for:

1.) Watching Jacob Young's jeans get tighter and tighter each day he is on (not that it's a bad thing...lol). He is filling out a lot more and is now competing with Cameron Mathison for the most junk in the trunk award. Is he on a beer diet or something? And that hair!!!!! Cut it!!!!

2.) Ritchie and Nubabe- am I the only one who thinks these two are cute together.....especially Ritchie cause he is yummy.

3.) Greenlee- The girl who plays her I think is cute as a button. But pairing her with Aiden is just down right boring.

4.) Jonathan- I think Jeff Branson is a good actor, but the way he is used doesn't do him any justice.

Sad to see Days in the position that it's in, but when I take glances of the show on soapnet it's like "what the hell is this show about? Who is it about?" With the exception of a few vets and a couple of newer people who can actually act, I don't see this show lasting. The cast doesn't even look into it anymore.

With that said, these ratings still suck.

I have been seeing some OLTL. I dont think it should be higher. It does have some good stuff but some bad stuff. Today's show was half good and half bad. Only the Marcie storyline had me hooked. Everything else was blah.

I bet you've read plenty of posts expressing disappointment that Carly's lying again to get Jack, and keeping her recovery a secret from her kids. That's what I was talking about. TIIC couldn't just play it out, letting Carly be on "the up and up" until Kack crumbled under the strain. This story should be a way for Jack to prove his devotion to Carly, and instead it's giving him a pass for cheating by making Carly a liar. It would be nice to get some old-fashioned ROMANCE, instead of more proof Oakdale is populated by delusional horny vipers.

Yeah, I agree with you PJ. I would have rather the doctors found out they made a mistake when Jack and Carly went to Montana. They come back and find out together. When they returned from Montana. But we are not getting that.

I agree those are the two stories that are really driving the ratings right now. It helps that the Holden/Lily/Dusty aspect has been brought into the Nuke story too in order to make that an even bigger story. Hopefully the twist to Carly's tumor won't hurt things because that had been getting such a positive reception too.

I am thrilled to see the improvement for ATWT! There are still some major problems with the writing but there have also been some very good things lately.

I agree. The scenes between Lily and Holden have been really intense lately. I find myself wanting Lily and Dusty together more and more just cuz it pisses off Holden so much (hes turned into a complete ahole).

Plus I'm loving Dusty's interactions with Noah. Does anyone else see him adopting Noah down the line? I really hope so. I love how nice and kind he is to Noah.

Anyways congrats to ATWT. I always knew one day it would get the ratings it deserved.

Glad that GH didn't fall.

    • I assume they did at some point during the finale...
    • Kelly was a horribly-written character overall. Just think, two Emmy-winning actresses (including Cynthia Watros, Nina, GH, and Annie, GL) couldn't make it work. Pamela is campy, but so are Dani, Vanessa, Leslie, and Joey. And, I don't want to be too judgy because my love for camp changes depending on the show. OLTL, DAYS, and some eras of GH had me rolling with the camp. However, Passions was overkill and I hated it. And, here, I can take it or leave it. It's ok in small doses (note to RC). I see this show as more of a serious drama.
    • I think one of the reasons that pilot didn't get picked up was because Vicki L was associated more with being Thelma Harper and playing older then she was playing her own age.  It was a blessing it didn't get picked up, or we would have been deprived of the syndicated era of Mama's Family.   Also, worth noting a Pre Night Court Marsha Warfield and pre Perfect Strangers Rebecca Arthur in the cast.  All talented women, but stuck with a bad script. And the other pilot had a pre Fran Fine.. Fran Drescher as the best friend.  I think that pilot might have been picked up if Karen Valentine and Fran Drescher switched roles.
    • So, on rewatch....did Rick and Mindy never have sex?
    • Cady had a fairly posh accent or manner as Rosanna - the character was a 180 from Dixie when she went to ATWT, and it was a huge success initially. As someone mostly only familiar with the nagging, miserable or clueless Dixie of the mid-late '90s and early 2000s it was what convinced me Cady could act. I thought she was incredible in her first run. Later, in future stints, her hair and story and performances were all over the place but a lot of that was down to the show for me. She brought some of Rosanna back with her to Dixie in her ill-fated return and a lot of people didn't like it, which I understood but I did think the character needed some change. I think she's had a little bit of the same persona and arch performance in every role she's played since, including Jennifer Horton at DAYS or Kelly at Y&R, who later became a maniac and was easily the worst work I've ever seen Cady do. It has kind of infected her overall mannerisms, I'll allow that, but I do think she brought Dixie back together as herself while still evolving the character when she returned to AMC again in 2012-13. Nonetheless, for me the upshot is that this is a character where Cady's kookier recent performance style suits the role. But I can understand it grating for people.
    • Yeah, Loretta Swit's passing stings. My late dad LOVED the show (he died last November) and watched it religiously. In first run and repeats.  And I was literally born the day after the show's premiere, so I grew up with it! I know many loved later, softer Margaret, but I loved Early Hot Lips. In real life, I'm all for less misogyny, but to me, the early years of M*A*S*H were just funnier. May Loretta Swit rest in peace. Thanks for all the memories connected to my dad!

    • I agree that she isn't Dixie or Rosanna and shouldn't be acting like either. I just found it strange that she had a naive Southern character and a wealthy urbane character in the past and didn't experiment with accents before (unless I missed it, correct me if I'm wrong). She used to do improv characters on YouTube. She's probably doing something similar here.

    • And here I thought I'd never think about Lauren Tewes again after her brief appearance in Twin Peaks Season 3.
    • I may be the single person who does not mind Transatlantic Campy Pamela. I think it perfectly suits this sort of Absolutely Fabulous-esque supporting character she's playing much more than it did when Cady tried weird and often broad stuff at AMC* or Y&R, or later stints at ATWT. She's not Dixie and she's not trying to be. I will freely admit some of the other chances she took at other shows often came off stiff, hammy or downright mortifying (Kelly Andrews, come on down). (* - and I say that as one of the few who was somewhat into Cady trying to make Dixie more cosmopolitan in the Rosanna Cabot mold in mid-2000s AMC, just to liven the character up again)
