I've said the same, but I was talking with family who are Tennis fans and mentioned - I feel like in John's instance at least as far as Tennis goes - my memories of him complaining were at least in regard to something valid or at least something that happened.  I don't remember him concocting drama the way that Nick does.  If John did, it was far more limited.  Not the match after match after match scenario the way it is with Nick.  And he didn't just say in press conferences that he didn't really care about playing well, he was just there for the entertainment.  Honestly, anyone who behaves the way these two do/did on the court tells me that as far as verbal abuse goes, they were likely 100% masterful at it even in their personal relationships.

Too bad that Anisimova couldn't hold her game together. She practically handed Halep that match on a silver platter with her many mistakes. But whenever she did manage to keep it together you could see that she has the ability to blow someone like Halep off the court.

On another note, is it only me who thinks that Anisimova is a spitting image of former Australian tennis player Alicia Molik?

I think as far as game goes, I've said before Anisimova = Mary Pierce.  I think she's going to win a slam or two and has the potential to be better but it's - will she be able to temper down the 'all or nothin' every match, and I think has the potential to be more consistent than Pierce was.  But - in her day and on the right day - Pierce really could blow anyone off the court, and she did.

And Fritz is making this more of a match than I would have thought, had I not seen him play this tournament.

Fritz choked in the tie breaker. He looked distraught as he left the court.

I am rooting for Nadal because I think he's generally amazing, but I felt bad for Fritz who was devastated by the loss. Nevertheless, Fritz can come back again. He played quite an incredible game and I feel like this game changed him in some way, marked a new chapter for him. I don't know. Probably reading too much into it and too soon.

I saw bits and pieces, and a chunk of the final set when I was simultaneously having a discussion via phone and happened to blurt out to a casual tennis fan that if Fritz, at 5-4 in the 5th set can’t find a way to break Nadal, he’d likely lose the match. At 6-5, I thought the same, although I might have given Taylor Fritz more credit than he deserved because I thought he would have gone on longer in the tiebreak, which he surrendered fairly quickly.

Malik has more of an oval face and Anisimova has more of a heart-shaped face. Look at them when they’re not smiling.

    • You’d think he would’ve learned after the way Sprina took off.  I hope we get a proper Emma/Gio/Trina/Kai quad, as friends, romantic rivals, etc. In the few scenes that the four of them have had together, I felt like there was a natural chemistry between all of them, similar to the way that Cam/Spencer/Trina/Joss was, in the beginning.  And, it would be a lot better than all this stuff with Kai’s surgery.
    • Hooray we made the exact same critique to Londonscribe!!!!!
    • I don't think they had any idea who he was this time last year. I think they were keeping their options very open. Same with totally dropping the Trina romance that was spoiled for him in the mags once FV clearly took a shine to him. Frank's priorities are bright and blazing in one color. I do think Gio and Emma seem to have worked out given that she is very dry and sarcastic and he is like a hot golden retriever, but I'd still play the field or explore quads with both with very different people - Emma with a scheming young man (of color), Gio with possibly Trina or someone else, or even a boy. Then maybe put them back together, who knows. But of course none that will happen.

    • He definitely got lost in the shuffle last year. First, they were implying that he was Drew’s son, then he was nothing more than just Violet’s bff

And then they changed him to being Dante and Brook Lynn’s son, which was clunky at first but I’m enjoying the storyline now.
    • GM is adorable, charming and fun onscreen despite months of nothing to do until recently, and has a bodacious bod. I'm not cosigning the show or this story - I haven't watched a full episode in over a month - but I think we're all taking the small victories in 2025 at this point. I'm open to testing this theory!
    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 To get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with. In the fall of 1985 Dynasty, Dallas and Knots were syndicated (show / rating / share / coverage % / markets): Dallas 3.4 10 51.7 92 Dynasty 3.4 10 48.7 47  Knots Landing 3.3 10 12.5 20  So, Knots as an example trippled Falcon Crest's rating with 20 markets - I'm sure those were major ones but it just goes to show you how much Falcon Crest bombed in syndication.
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
