Cilic is out. Federer’s path to the final even clearer.

With loss Cilic falls to #6 in the rankings(he had all the final points from last year to defend and didn't) and Grigor goes up to #5.....LOL....Grigor's points come off in Cincy which he won and the year end championship ...which he won too.....

Konta and her robotic game are out. Knocked out of 32 seeds by Serena, Cibulkova channels her anger into her play. They say Konta will fall into the 40s in the rankings.

I didn't even bother watching her boring match. Glad she lost.

Interesting from this reporter.

I think it was smart in Nike's part. I wouldn't pay the extra years after he retires. Yes he will sell but I doubt the loads he would be if he were playing.

Isner is so pathetic.  He might be a tennis player but he's a tennis player that doesn't play tennis.  He serves and that's it.  I keep saying to friends - if the point starts, it's over for him.  He'd be better off treating both serves as a first serves and just go for aces on both because if he gets a return back at him, the point will be over for him.

Muguruza out to Van Uytvanck. Wow. She’s going to lose a lot of points. The upsets continue.

Meanwhile, Sascha Zverev has played like garbage today. Down 2 sets to 1 to Taylor Fritz. Play being suspended for the day is the best thing that could have happened to Sascha.

Everyone was screaming at him, “Why are you standing so far behind the baseline?” It just allowed Taylor to take total command of the match. The good thing is that someone can actually tell him what he was doing wrong so that he can make adjustments. Well, one hopes he makes the adjustments.

And Madison Keys is out. That half of the draw just opened up for Serena if she can seize the opportunity.

Zverev better thank the universe for his good fortune because if his match was scheduled earlier he’d likely be out as well.
