Y&R: Since 1978

B&B: Since 1987

ATWT: Since 1978

GL: Since 1978

But as winterguy said I am losing my patience with ATWT too. So I might just drop this show and all of daytime if things dont change soon. And Luke's story better play out like we all want it too... Instead of them shying away and not going full throttle with it.

GH- 23 or so years. I was little and can remember almost all of the begining of the Frisco/Felicia storyline, I have flashes of early Holly/Luke, but when Felicia came on the show I started watching and paying attention. Then came Anna, and I was hooked.

AMC- THe 90's, and then off and on for that one, so about 12 years or so.

OLTL- Off and on for 20 years, less and less in the last 8.

Y&R- Off and on for 20 years, nothing in the last year.

ATWT- At regular viewer during Sheffer's run, I tune in and out of it now, for specific storylines. 5 years maybe on that one.

DAYS- I have memories of earlier stuff on Days, but I started watching with Bo/Hope and paying attention back when they were on the show for the first time. I dropped out with SSM, and Langan, but came back for parts of Reilly round 2 and tune in and out of Sheffer. 15 years maybe?

    • Oh, I see! You posted this on the general retro soap thread because of the voiceover.
    • Yeah, I agree. It's part of the reason I have shade picked on Martin's Secret being so on the backburner that it was about to fall off of it. With Dani/Bill/Hayley being the main tale to start us off and backburned and the SilkPress storyline being well paced, but not set to explode until May, Martin's Secret was the other main storyline that could have been developed. And after giving it a nice slow burn to start off, the story upped and vanished in Month 2. That left the show having to rely on mostly B/C stories to stay afloat to various degrees of success.
    • I loved those scenes, lol. I thought I was watching a stage play. But I do hear what you're saying.
    • Jason47's episode summaries clarify everything. https://daytimeroyaltyonline.com/days-daily-summaries-1990-1999-t14806-s150.html The construction company is "AJ Construction" (AJ = Adrienne+Justin).   Jencon Oil was building an oil refinery at the construction site.  This was adjacent to the park. Kirk Geiger played the character Chad Webster. The character Chad was an actor in the movie being made.   The child friend with Shawn-Douglas is his cousin Andrew Donovan. A few episodes prior, Andrew and Shawn-Douglas were at the park playing hide-and-seek. They wandered off where they shouldn't have gone, by slipping through the gate onto the construction site.  Shawn-D fell into the hole at the oil refinery. There were several episodes of trying to rescue Shawn-D.  Finally Carly rescued Shawn-D, but he was discovered to be deaf.  Andrew felt bad, but Bo and Shane both understood that it was an accident.  Carly later taught Shawn-D sign language. Shawn-D was played by Scott Groff. Andrew was played by Bradley Michael Pierce. pics here: https://web.archive.org/web/20070404163013/http://www.childrenofsalem.com/days/kids/shawnandrew/shawnandrew.html Larger context here: https://web.archive.org/web/20080614054207/http://www.bethsdayspage.com/days/riverfrontraider.htmlhttps://web.archive.org/web/20080614054207/http://www.bethsdayspage.com/days/riverfrontraider.html
    • I had a situation last week where I could watch the new episode on Paramount Plus on my laptop, but it wasn't even listed on my TV as an option.

    • I'm trying to think whether AW had anything remotely resembling that once Steve was killed off and Alice left a widow. So many young love stories were wrapped up either by marrying and leaving town or marrying and killing off one party. Maybe they acted in the final year as if Vicky and Jake had been that couple all along, but they both had better other mates along the way and also Jake was actively hostile to Vicky at too many points without any subtext of caring about her.
