Totally. I will co-sign that (Geez, you have excellent taste, Gio. Hate Beall, like Patrick! :D ) I loved the episode she wrote last month (6/5), and I loved this episode, too.

The Ava/Kendall scenes had me hysterical! "4.2" And Kendall trying to get Ava to flip the wig. Loved Greenlee and Annie bursting in as well.

Totally enjoyed the scene at the Chandler Mansion with Marian (Jennifer Bassey's hair looks GORGEOUS! ) and Opal "When pigs dance the macarena!" all fighting over the property.

Wow, Ryan and Jonathan both realizing their pasts give them no right to judge other people? Shall I faint now or later?

Big ups to Karen Lewis, who I always sell short. After three days of Agenda and Lil' Miss Hot Mess, today was a breath of fresh air (The Jerica Innuendo scene 7/5 was dreadfully obvious -- but I loved Walt and Susan's performances. Again, it's the actors who can polish turds into diamonds when all else fails... well, some of them, anyway. Giving Cameron the Bugler "beach" speech last month was a horrible mistake!).

I loved the "Scarlett and Hank MacPhearson" scenes  Walt and Susan are on FIRE these days.

Loved the scenario at Chandlers and I can't wait for JR/Adam to get their revenge.

Loved the Kendall/Lily scenes yesterday but I'm tired of Ava trying to convince everyone she is Lily.

Loved the Jack/Greenlee scenes and Jack telling her that she and Ryan are NOT destined to be together. Now if she will just get off this crusade and move on to someone else I can like her again.

First, your post reads like most of mine! I'm loving it!

Second - YES! I'm happy you found the Kendall/Ava scenes as funny as I did. I was literally laughing out loud during the wig scene and square root scene.

Finally - that "I'd rather chew glass than work with this bitch!" line was soooooo Amanda L. Beall-ish.

 (....and I liked it....)

That's the thing, how badly are the Chandler's really suffering? They're all still living in the house. JR still has his Chandler stock, which he should give to Adam pronto. Colby is working and she as well as Little Adam seem to spend most of their time with Krystal and Babe, particularly Little Adam. Josh being JR's boss is torture, but he deserves it. The house taunting is more of a slam on JR being a dips**t than Adam, and Adam and his very smart daughter know that. Adam's more tortured by the fact that his son is a traitorous, double-crossing weasel than anything Zach is doing. Not that Adam is innocent in terms of emotional blackmail, but I love my Adam more than I love his spawn.

I will say that the only person I liked in that last scene at the Chandler's is Adam. There was just something too similiar about the Juniors in that scene and it was a little disturbing. The know-it-all jerks thing - at one point or another I wanted to smack each of them - the casually discussing fake deaths/kidnappings, Mr. Phil Slater's "Father and son reunited. My work here is done." I felt pity for both their fathers in those moments (double the pity for Adam, since he had to listen to it), lol. The Chandler mansion scenes were fun before that, liked seeing Marian and Opal again (the Palmer/Nina, Myrtle mentions were also a plus).

I liked Jack today. I haven't liked him in a long time. Kudos, MP.

The Ava and Kendall scenes, I liked them. The hair flip, the counting. Funny stuff. "Wait, 4.2?" Hah.

Livia and Derek. Awesome.

*bows down* You know I agree with that!

Loved the Chandler family follies. Opal and Marian busting in there, bitching up a storm, LOVED IT. Opal and Marian are so beyond busy-body, but I love it. They are probably the two most lovable characters on the show.

Derek and Livia were interesting. I'm not too sure how I feel about Derek and Krystal flirting it up. It's totally unexpected and definitely something new for the both of them, so I'm liking it. Loved Livia trying to help out. It's great to see these characters in roles other than lawyer and police. It's great to see that they still have souls, hearts, and feelings, just like everybody else.

Ava! LMAO! I totally got my calculator to check some of those answers. All of them were wrong. That was some fun stuff, though, loved it. Lily and Ava could have a really great sisterhood, I think. If Reggie were to ever return, I could easily see him and Ava as hilarious sparring partners.

I gained a newfound respect for Ms. Melissa Claire Egan today. When Annie came off the roof and uttered that line..."That's it. I would rather chew glass than work with this bitch!" Perfect delivery. That line could have sounded so forced (anytime Kendall, nuGreens, Babe, or Amanda say anything that ends in "bitch," I can't help but cringe), but she worked it well and I'm proud. I offically like her and want her to stick around.

I didn't get to see too much of Jonathan and Ryan, and then Erica and Jack, unfortunately. I did catch a bit of Jon and Ry, but ugh...why do they act as if Jonathan's pedophiliac obsession with Lily was normal? They talked about her as if she was just another conquest, just another Fusion girl or something. Not cool.

But yeah, really enjoyable show today. I liked it a whole lot. I forgive the show for that lame ass 4th of July episode now.

I'm curious why? Why don't Adam & JR deserve this? Adam RECENTLY tried to sell a baby on the black market and left a woman alone while she was in labor. I hate KWAK as much as anyone, but when's Adam going to pay for that and what he did to Janet?

JR's FINALLY paying for almost killing Kendall & Spike last year, too bad he had to take his father along for the ride.

Oh Zach & Kendall suffer more than anyone on this show. Laurie's right the Chandler's are pretty much untouchable.

Adam is a bastard for trying to sell a baby, but that doesn't give Zach the right to do this. Let God punish Adam, who the hell is Zach Slater? (dont answer that) JR also, yes he has done wrong, and deserves to pay, but not at Zach's feet. What makes him everyones savior? And it's not like Zach is even doing this for Krystal, or Bianca, or even Kendall. He's doing it for Zach.

What a great episode! One of the best in months if not only for the character balance and what's this Marian, Opal, Livia, Derek... all having meaningful scenes and Palmer visiting Nina. I loved it. I am totally ok with Zendall taking down the Chandlers. They are the Chandlers, you know thy will get even eventually and as others have said, its not like Adam and especially J.R don't deserve it. R Sinclair, when was the last time you actually had nolthing but praise for an episode? I had to do a double take. The Greenlee/Annie fight didn't annoy me because it was more two women being catty than it being over Ryan. Annie had some incredible zingers and IMO won the fight hands down. Melissa Claire Egan is a great actress and it really shows when you put her next to Sabine who IMO is an ok actress but, her greeness (no pun intended) shows in scenes with Melissa.

Because they're Zach haters, Angie. If it were anybody else, they'd be cheering him on. I'm sure some of the same people are angry at Zach for having the NERVE to do such a HORRIBLE thing, are probably the same moral police officers who were chewing Adam out for selling that CareyMartin spawn on the black market eight weeks ago.

ROFLMAO that was the line of the day :D

I was dying at Marian & Opal fighting for the Chandler Mansion and Palmer wanting it OMFG PRICELESS

Uh yeah actually it does. Adam had NO problem using that JR almost killed Kendall & Spike to get Zach to help him take down JR in the first place. He NEVER wanted JR to pay for what he did and guilted Dixie into guilting Babe to get JR off the hook.

How is he doing it for Zach? He has more reason to hate the Chandler's than anyone(except Kendall, Bianca & Erica)

Oh I forgot, double standards LOL ;)

WORD to your post :D I forgot it's okay what Adam did cause it was KWAK and everyone hates her  What about what he did to Amanda & Janet. Heck he even burnt down Tad's house and got away with it.

I have no problem with JR but not Adam. What JR did with Krystal was wrong but that is up to Krystal and the Martins to take up with him. Zach is in NO position as Adam has never made a move against him. If Adam has to pay for what he did to Krystal, then why isnt Zach paying for his crimes

Well I guess I'll have to disagree on Zach and Kendall suffering the most on this show. I think out of everyone, Adam has had the worst year and it only gets worse

Double standards go both way bc I see some of the same people supporting Zach for making JR and Adam pay for their crimes are the same ones that still to this day are on Babe's case to pay for what she did to Bianca and of course just a few weeks ago were screaming bloody murder when Greenlee dared to want to make Zach pay for what he did to her after she found out.

See, that's what I'm wondering. Now I'm not saying that Adam and JR don't deserve a little pay back. But who is Zach to deal out that punishment? Who is Zach to decide that Adam needs to pay, when Zach did something very criminal. and didn't pay in the slighest for it? I guess, people only want Babe, KWAK, Adam and JR to suffer and pay for what they did, but Zach, is somehow immune.

I don't think any character is. And if Adam is getting what is supposedly coming to him, then Zach has too to. As does Tad. As does JR, HJamie, Josh, etc.

    • To their credit, the new writers are clever to stick to current events from the time they were taping, versus trying to predict current events at the time the episode airs.  Case in point, Susan and questionable choice to hop on a cruise two days after her son was shot, and the case remains unsolved, so her remains at risk...

Although cruises around the world are not uncommon for Salem citizens like Julie, it seemed like the type of reference DOOL continues to like dropping into scripts for humor. Also, help me understand the Marlena and EJ interaction.  Didn't they come to a mutual détente earlier in the week?  I felt gaslighted, but I could've just as easily misunderstood Marlena's earlier talk to Belle, and then EJ. And is Bo in Boston (near Ceara) or Greece (where he was transferred after he was shot)?  I bet it is expensive to fly a coma patient transatlantically!
    • It was one of the bigger disappointments that Sarah wasn't part of the book.
    • They clearly loved her offcamera. I wish I could appreciate her work more, but...I don't. Thanks for telling me what Levin said at the end. I still don't think Carney was bad, but I guess he would always see them as not shining compared to Kate.
    • Around 2002, when I would have killed Alan, I'd bring back Amanda, who would have a love/hate relationship with Philip mirroring Alan and Alex, I'd have a proper Alex recast, I might bring back Alan-Michael (and maybe Hope or Mike on recurring), and I'd bring in a long-lost son for Philip who would be around his late teens or early twenties.  I agree that Philip would still need a rival. That's where giving Roger another long-lost kid (not Sebastian) could have worked in this timeframe.
    • @ranger1rg @DemetriKaneI was sure I was swimming upstream alone on this. I get that they are all proud to be Duprees, but the writers are just overplaying it. Ted's an ass, but presumably, he's been a model husband for the last 25 (?) years...but he just isn't good enough (or can handle or whatever..) a Dupree woman? *cough* I guess the next "shocker" is whatever Vernon and Anita's secret is. I hope it's something a little more original than him cheating on Anita.
    • Yes, that was probably to he case. In  the book, after Malcolm Groome (Pat) said he dated Kathleen Tolan,  he said he saw her theater work and found her to be  "compelling and charismatic actress"  In one of Ilene Kristen's many video interviews promoting the book, she also praised Kathleen.
    • David knowing Burke was going to die and making sure to say goodbye to him was very unnerving. Some of the last moments where David Henesy's otherworldly vibes from those first few years are put to good use. I agree that the few months right before 1795 are excellent. They do a great job with building suspense and going through insane twists.  DS was never going to be able to have a long run anyway, with the high burnout rate and a number of principal cast not likely to stay, but I do wonder what might have been if they had done a better job with the present day after the return from 1795.
    • Off of the Xander/Paulina scenes in Thursday's episode, I really hope that means we're getting Theo coming home permanently. I didn't really see much of Cameron Johnson in the role, and though he was pretty and I'm thankful for his occasional thirst traps on Insta, Kyler Pettis could not act, so a brand new recast would be fine by me, but if you all think Cameron doesn't a real shot, I'd be fine with that, too. I just want Theo to be taken seriously as a character for once and make his place on this show like he deserves. I was annoyed the second Susan showed up again, but I do admit it was interesting to see her reunite with Marlena and see their dynamic when EJ joined them. Hopefully now we're done with her forever. As for John, this last bit of hope Marlena is getting before the inevitable is already so devastating. This is going to be so hard to watch. Xander reminding the audience he IS a cold blooded murderer, point blank. Paul Telfer was devilishly terrifying. Taking off his jacket was such a sexy power move. That Philip doesn't have a permanent dent in his face will be a miracle. It'll be interesting if it'll just be the one punch or if next week will see Philip more battered and bruised. How bad are they going to make Xander look? I will say, the best part of this story is that I'm not rooting for one over the other. How Philip reacts to this violence will be interesting. I also liked how everything with stealing the drug ended up. Very messy. Steve even made me laugh at one point, and I've been indifferent to him for years. I hope poor Kevin doesn't get scapegoated, but it'll be nice to see him presumably reunite with Shawn next. We'll be really lucky if Belle somehow crosses paths with him, too.
    • I've really been enjoying seeing him/Smitty interact with other actors/characters
    • She didn't want a hotel room; doubt she's going to want the apartment room, either. There was no reason to re-arrange the other one. This was the most logical move.
