Blatantly stealing Kenny's format...

Days of Our Lives

Wednesday, June 13th!

steveandsteph.jpg

For some reason I can't get the vid to embed, but here's a classic clip from the vault.

Doug, Julie, Liz & Neil sing "For Me and My Gal" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtuUu9Lkre8

Awesome! Do not miss this! Why don't we get stuff like this anymore??

Yesterday on Days:

Jeremy surprises Chelsea with a kiss

Steve and Adrienne walk in on Stephanie and Jeremy

Shawn learns he was not the father of Willow's baby

Nick thinks Chelsea is avoiding him and later finds Chelsea with Jett

Lucas stops the runaway forklift.

TODAY on DAYS:

Philip and Belle arrive in Chicago to find they have missed the pageant

Shawn catches up with Belle and Philip

Doug, Julie, Bo and Hope work to get into the boarded-up cellar

Nick tries to fight Jett; Chelsea tries to reassure Nick.

Steve rips Jeremy a new one.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Doug's Place was torn down long ago. I thought Wings was built on the land that was used for Doug's Place. Then Scott came back and gave Nick Corelli a hard time because Julie owned the land; and Victor and Vivian were interested in the land at one time, but Julie refused to give it up.

Now it's as if Wings never existed? I mean, that's where Maggie learned how to greet people! :-)

(Or am I wrong about Wings existing on the same piece of property as Doug's Place?)

Although I probably wasn't alive for a lot of that or even watched, I'm with GBB on that. I just assumed Doug's Place was remodeled and used for another club.

Oh well. I hear today is a REALLY good episode (or most of it). I so cannot wait. Thursday's also good. Thank god cause we need it after Tuesday's snoozefest.

DUDE!! THEY JUST KILLED OFF BILL AND MARIE!

If they were going to do it with a throwaway line, they did it right. The characters were fairly irrelevant to the canvas, so a storyline wouldn't have made much sense. But wow, that was really unexpected! I adored the flashbacks.

Looking forward to the Bope stuff today and Thursday, but the Claire crap and Stephanie/Jeremy crap in the same episode is just too much for me take. I can handle episodes that are weighed down by one of these storylines each day, but not episodes that feature both of these turds. Ugh. Where's Stefano and Tony? I want to see DiMansion!

    • If you ever make it to the Paley Center in NYC (fka Museum of TV and Radio), in their viewing room, you can watch Days 1/1/73 featuring Denise Alexander as Susan. It’s her last month on the show before switching to GH.
    • Overall I was impressed with this week and fall out from the revealation.  I am looking forward to seeing the Nicole/Dana showdown next week.  I do wonder if June is going to be tied to Hayley.
    • I thought Adam and Sara got married? Although I do not remember any mention of her when Adam returned for Blake's weddings. But MA certainly got the short end of the stick storywise, as Marland's obsession with therapy reared it's head.
    • Didn’t Meg Bennett return to SFT as a writer in the last few years. I always wondered if they tried to get her back as Liza.
    • Millette Alexander got the short end of the stick once they killed off Joe. The Justin thing was a non-starter. Then she was briefly married to Alan's corrupt lawyer and HE was killed off. She was paired briefly with Adam and that ended because she believed Holly over Roger about the rape. Definitely, Marland had zero interest in her except as the therapist for the many, many of his female characters who needed therapy. It's not odd she left the show. One of the rare 1978 episodes on YT shows Alan going to Cedars for a physical check-up. He ends up with Sarah as his doctor. In between making mysoginistic comments about women doctors, he also openly flirts with her. It's very obvious they were chem testing Sarah and Alan. It's a really good scene. Bernau is both obnoxious and charming and Millette is amazing, trying to be pleasant and profesional without rolling her eyes at him, but at the same time maybe a LITTLE bit attracted to him. An interesting what-might-have-been. So it appears the Dobsons were actively looking for someone to pair her with, they just never found the right one for a long-term story.
    • I'm happy to read whatever you provide, @Paul Raven.

    • First, let me say I love reading all of your takes and thoughts. They always provide a different point of view... a breath of fresh air... in this sometimes stuffy topic.

You've inspired me to add my 2 cents about this product placement debacle.  I absolutely HATE the way they are doing product placement in BTG. I really hope this doesn't catch on or evolve into more and more of these moments. It's incredibly off-putting to place them in a highly dramatic moment where we are still on the emotional journey with the character. What is next - Dani spraying the house while having a nervous breakdown? It makes me not want to buy the product they're selling. LOL. That's just me.
    • I always get the vibe that Martin/Smitty have an emotional abusive relationship set up... but I doubt the show will really go there with that element given that Martin is a Dupree (and we can't have the Duprees be portrayed in a negative light), and because it's a gay male relationship.   Even though abuse in the physical or emotional sense is a huge thing in a lot of gay and lesbian relationships. The Ashley/Naomi scene reads off to me for one reason....  Ashley was talking about the new scandal without any sort of mention and/or subtext.. considering she knew both Silk Press Sheila and Eva.  I'm not sure if the writers have forgotten, if Jen Jacobs isn't able to play subtext, or what.   It's just apparent the writers do not know how to write a young white millennial couple.. and perhaps they need to get a younger white script writer to be on staff... or let the actors play around with the lines to make them more natural/realistic.
