She also paved the way for a lot of gay people, especially on TV. There were no gay shows on TV. She was pre-Will & Grace, remember that. So, you know, I talk about 'gay' because I like to and she doesn't talk about it because she doesn't want to or she can't. But, who cares? It's fine. Gay Gay Gay Gay Gay!""

I wonder if Ellen wanted that information out there. There goes Rosie again, blabbing off at the mouth. I always did wonder though, why there was never any mention of her sexuality on the show. I mean, it's not the type of show where she'd be talking about gay issues like Rosie does on The View, and it's supposed to be lighthearted, but she talks about her personal life all the time in her opening monologue.

In a long video post on her blog, Rosie O'Donnell claims fellow out lesbian Ellen DeGeneres is not allowed to talk about anything "gay, gay gay!" on her daytime talk show. Mum's the L word?

In her video, Rosie claims Ellen signed a contract that forbids her to mention anything to do with gay issues, adding, "I talk about 'gay' because I like to and she doesn't talk about it because she doesn't want to or she can't."

TMZ contacted a rep for Telepictures, producers of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," who jokingly said "She's gay? Who knew?" The rep then added that this is completely untrue, and that they have no such contracts with any of their hosts, saying,"Ellen is free to talk about whatever she wants and we encourage her to do so."

On an episode this week, Ellen joked about being able to stand upright following her recent back injury, saying, "I'm not quite straight. Well, you know that."

In 1997, Ellen publicly came out of the closet in a groundbreaking episode of her ABC series, paving the way for hit gay-themed TV shows like "Will & Grace" and "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy."

TMZ is a joint venture between AOL and Telepictures, which produces "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

Hmm, I don't think she was trying to pick a fight, just stating the fact that Ellen can't talk about being gay on her show. She never even said that she didn't agree with that, just mentioned it, since someone wrote in and asked her(Rosie) why she always talked about being gay, yet Ellen never did.

People always like to grasp at straws. TMZ.com is soo freakin' ridiculous and I can't stand that guy that runs it. Yuck~!

If I had a contract that stated I couldn't for one hour a day talk about how liberal I am, I would sign it. Especially if their was a hell of a lot of money involved. Because seriously, Ellen's show is only on 5 hours a week. Who cares? Why does Rosie have to get in everyone's business.

Rosie is so damn Nosey, I think I'm ready for her to go now. She needs to quit telling everyone's business unless its newsworthy. This just isn't.

I feel like Ellen doesn't talk about it so much because the majority of gay people have a lot more in their lives than just being gay... she wants to show America that a gay woman can be perfectly normal and talk about other things besides being gay, and I think that makes her a good rolemodel, unlike Rosie who every other sentence is, "As a gay person..."

This very thing was speculated from the get-go...where Ellen had a clause in her contract that prevented her from going too gay. I'm glad that Ellen's talk show works with her downplaying the gay factor. Ellen's half-hour sitcom was great until she came out of the closet. At that point, the show had its moments(like the guest spot with Anne Heche), but being gay just encompassed the whole show instead of being funny.

Rosie could take a cue from Ellen, a woman who doesn't have to exploit her sexuality to get love and media buzz. And I don't even LIKE Ellen's talk show. Little too feel good for my taste.
